As someone who works for a pet store I both love and hate pixar. The next person that tries to ask me if we have "a dory fish" for their goldfish bowl is getting straight up clubbed like a baby seal

Name: Mao Everett
Alias: Alloy

Age: 17

Appearance:
Mao stands at a relatively average height for a guy of his age at approximately 5'11", with a weight of 168 lbs. His physique is that of an athlete; toned and lithe with little visible body fat.
Gender: Male

Powers/Equipment: Mao has the ability to produce a metallic substance of similar strength and lightness to titanium from his sweat glands at will, as well as produce a secondary substance that causes metals of the same or a similar composition to become brittle.

Weakness: The metallic substance he creates has several flaws to it, chief among them being the fact that it's production barely extends past the dermal level, meaning that a blow of sufficient force can pierce it, the second flaw is the fact that this substance leaves zero room for finger and joint articulation unless Mao intentionally leaves gaps between the bits of metal like a suit of armor, which leaves soft flesh vulnerable to attack if he isn't careful, and the final flaw is that the substance he produces comes at the cost of bodily fluids and fat reserves, meaning he requires large amounts of food and drink after each usage or he runs the risk of severe dehydration, malnutrition, or other unhealthy side effects.

Personality: A laid back and somewhat lazy fellow, Mao is generally reluctant to put any more energy into an activity than he absolutely has to when it comes to tasks. Further adding to this slothfulness is the fact that Mao extremely patient and often chooses to do things one bit at a time unless given proper motivation. This is not to say that Mao is an absolutely slovenly human being: he can be a surprisingly hard worker if need be, it's just that so long as he can do things on his terms he'll choose the easier route nine times out of ten.

History: Mao has had a fairly unremarkable life up until the disappearance of the leading forces of the Justice League: Even though his powers manifested at a relatively young age, the fact that his parents were quick to explain to him the dangers of showing off his abilities in public in the hopes of providing him with as normal a childhood as they possibly could meant that he went completely unnoticed by anyone that may have taken issue with what he was. Mao did all the same things that normal children and teens did: He went to school, hung out with friends, held the occasional summer job, and picked up an after school activity to stop his parent's hounding. Unfortunately, it was because of his after school activity of choice that he was landed in the situation he was in. Being that he disliked most sports, and his parents wouldn't have been satisfied with him choosing an activity that didn't involve him actually being active, Mao chose to dabble in the martial arts, picking up a muy thai class to satisfy is parents. He picked up more than a few interesting tricks during his classes, however due to his lazy nature Mao struggled to get anywhere beyond the lower percentile of his class while everyone else went on ahead.
This pattern would have likely continued where it not for the fact that after a few too many blows to the head during a sparing match Mao's patience finally ran out. A strong kick to the ribs with a metal coated shin was all it took to send his sparing partner to the hospital and blow his cover as a normal person. As several of his classmates actually went to his school, word traveled pretty quickly about his ability, which saw Mao receiving his fair share of harassment by his peers and even a few teachers. The disappearance of the key members of the justice league not too long afterwards only further exasperated the situation to the point where even Mao's parents were targeted by hate groups for keeping him. When talks of the family picking up shop and moving elsewhere started to surface Mao chose instead to strike out on his own to save his parents the trouble, finding himself an apartment on the opposite end of town which he paid for with odd jobs. Life got quite a bit harder for Mao as metahuman discrimination saw him barely bringing enough cash home to both pay for his suspiciously increasing rent and feed himself. At some point he would seek out the Titans after hearing of a group that fought against metahuman discrimination

Other: Mao is a damned good cook. The fact that he frequently found himself having to experiment with whatever food he could bring home means that he has a good idea of what blends well with what.
Room for one more?

Mao sighed quietly at the response he received for his request. Of course he was going to be badgered for his supplies. In this city good will was an alien concept to quite a few people, himself included. That being said, Mao had no intention of parting with all of his food, nor was he particularly interested in getting into a physical altercation over them, least of all with a monster. Mao hopped back ever so slightly to get a bit more room, his free hand slipped into the back of his pants and produced his gun, which he quickly leveled at the woman's head "Sorry lady, i'm real grateful that you kept me from being freak food and all, but i've barely got enough for myself as is. Kind of why i'm out here in the first place." he rasped, his fear partially ebbing away now that he had a weapon gripped firmly in each hand. Mao stood stone faced as he met Ash's gaze, though in the back of his mind cogs were hard at work spinning.

Although he wouldn't admit it Mao didn't actually want to shoot Ash. It wasn't that he took issue with killing to keep his stuff -he'd done that more than enough times to become troublingly numb to the action- it was more so due to the fact that shooting her meant that he could say goodbye to scavenging in the area for at least the next few hours, if not the entire night, not to mention the fact that ammunition wasn't exactly easy to come by. Whatever situation might occur after the fact, Mao not wanting to shoot Ash did not mean that he wasn't more than willing to actually do it if need be. He pulled back the hammer on the gun and gestured to the open street yet again, "I'm going to ask you one more time to let me out of this alley way. Grateful or not, interested in fighting or not, I will shoot you if you take another step forward.".

Still around. Tired as fuck, but still around.
Jacque whistled lowly as he sauntered about one of several suspected feeding grounds in the Nerima ward in his search for ghouls. Thus far nothing had cropped up, which to him was fine considering he was more so interested in mapping out the other wards on his way back in case such information was ever needed. With him being given clearance to patrol a bit outside of his designated sector, the mercenary took the time to thoroughly comb over the areas he hit, although not so thoroughly as to not keep track of the time. After all: He was being paid to patrol ward eight, the other wards were merely being checked for future personal gain rather than for the sake of him going above and beyond in the name of duty. With yet another section turning up neither useful tidbits or signs of ghoul activity, Jacque pulled out a small tablet like device from one of his coat's interior pockets and hefted his weapon up to support it while he typed. His fingers were a blur across the screen as he brought up his notes section and started to type, 'Ward 20 notes: Rumors of the docile nature of the Nerima ward are thus far appearing to be true. Strangely the ghoul activity here appears to mirror that of the Kōtō ward. CCG patrol units appear to be equally scarce, making the lack of ghoul activity all the more of an oddity. Places of interest: Antieku coffee shop (pretty good coffee; given the diet of ghouls this might be a popular place among their kind) and Shakujii Park (large; plenty of places to hunt and hide).'.

Satisfied, the mercenary restored the device to its resting place and allowed his weapon to dangle at his side once more before spinning on his heel. He was stopped in his tracks by the sight of a familiar form blocking his path. "We meet again. I don't suppose you're here because you forgot to ask my name earlier, did you?" He asked the old man, "I'm afraid not son, though I suspect you already know what's coming next, you being with the CCG and all.', the man retorted with a gesture towards the weapon in Jacque's hand. Jacque exhaled loudly through his nose and rolled his head a bit, eliciting a series of pops from the vertebrae in his neck, "I just want you to know son: This isn't personal. It's just you or me, and a guy's gotta eat." The man said as the sclera of his right eye turned black and his iris red, "I understand, so long as you understand that i'm not going to make this easy for you.". Jacque extended his thumb and pressed the button on the handle of his quinque as the old man began to rush forward. The blade of the weapon lit up a vibrant shade of orange as part of the blade swung out and unfurled to its full length. The old man meanwhile prepared for battle himself: His left arm exploded into a red mass of Rc cells before reshaping to form a massive two pointed claw in the shape of a double helix.
Jacque hefted his weapon up as the ghoul bore down on him with the tip of his kagune. Knowing full well that he was no match for a ghoul in a match of strength, let alone a koukaku user, Jacque lunged to the side, leaving the pointed tips of the kagune to pierce the asphalt rather than the soft flesh it sought out. The old man grit his teeth and ripped his kagune out of the ground at an angle to block Jacque's molten rhapsody just before it could cleave into him, leaving the two staring face to face momentarily, "One eye huh? That means you were human originally, right?", "You know yer stuff.".

The old man quickly overpowered Jacque, forcing the mercenary to bend a knee as he continued to press his quinque against the kagune to avoid being impaled "This weapon means you're a rank two, right? How long've you been working with the CCG?" "Two years, but i'm a bit of a special case." Jacque growled through grit teeth "Oh? How's that?". Jacque pulled his weapon away and rolled to the side, but not before receiving a blow to his shoulder for his troubles, "Sorry-" He began as he reached up and grasped the bloody mess of shredded clothing and flesh, "I'm not at liberty to discuss my job. Orders are orders.. The old man nodded knowingly before he charged again. This time Jacque waited until his quarry got in close, then, as the old man reared his kagune back to begin his assault, Jacque placed both of his hands back in his quinque and twisted to the side as the old man lunged with his kagune. Despite his ghoul nature the old man was still affected by the ravages of time; as he struck out at the open air, he was too slow to pull back as Jacque's weapon came down hard on exposed flesh. Were Jacque not injured the cut would have been clean and precise, the quinque would have sliced vertically through flesh and bone and left a relatively neat stub in its wake. That was not the case here: Jacque's injured shoulder forced him to alter his cut, to angle it part of the way through to mitigate the pain in his shoulder he received for his action. The result was a mess: The kagune dropped off, exposing torn flesh and the shattered remains of the old man's humerus, topping off the gruesome display with a splurt of blood as his arties attempted to pump blood into a limb that was no longer there. The old man shrieked in both surprise and agony as he fell forward onto the ground thanks to his momentum. Jacque wasted no time waiting to attack again. He pressed his foot on the small of the old man's back and brought his weapon down twice, the first time; at the man's neck, both to allow an efficient kill and end the man's pain filled struggling swiftly, and the second; below the man's shoulder blades, ensuring that the there would be less weight to carry when someone came to cart off the body to extract the man's kagune sac. His work done, Jacque stepped back and fell onto his rear before fishing through his pockets for the small hand radio he'd been issued by the CCG. With a wince he pressed the 'all call' button to broadcast to all available CCG radios, "This is rank 2 officer Jacque Marrow. I've just dispatched a one-eyed koukaku type ghoul and am in need of both a clean up crew and medical attention. I'm currently located in the sublevel of a parking garage in Ward 20, approximately eight miles due east of the Anteiku Cafe. I repeat, eight miles due east of the Anteiku Cafe, parking garage sublevel". With his message delivered, Jacque dropped the radio and gripped his bloody shoulder before gingerly bringing a knee to his chest to prop up his arm.
Apologies, it had just seemed as though this roleplay was on it's last legs given the lack of activity. Which, in all honesty, was partially my fault.
"So the real important difference isn't so much the area it's grown as it is the washing process? Fascinating." Jacque mused aloud much to the amusement of the elderly american man across from him. During his wait for his coffee Jacque had taken to striking up a conversation with one of the patrons when he recognized them to be a foreigner much like himself. The conversation started off with trading names and home towns, how long they'd both been in tokyo, the usual small talk. Then, after Jacque took note of the dog tags dangling around the man's neck, the conversation veered off into military experiences before finally switching into the differences between coffee types when both of their orders arrived. Jacque felt a bit like a child for adding a dollop of half and half and two tea spoons of sugar to his medium roast as the older man drank his dark roast black, but the feelings were forgotten when he actually went to take a sip. True to the words of his coworkers the coffee was pretty damn good: smooth, full bodied and not too acidic almost like a dark roast, and yet still a bit more flavorful like a light roast would be. He went from sipping to draining the cup in just a few short gulps, and was tempted to go for another order before his phone began to buzz in his coat pocket.

The mercenary turned away from his new acquaintance and pulled the phone out, instantly switching to business mode when he recognized the number as his employers. "This is Marrow." He droned somewhat mechanically before a somewhat irritable voice responded with "You aren't at your desk.". "Apologies. I had heard that there was a pretty good coffee shop out in Nerima and wanted to see if it was true.", "Nerima? As in ward twenty?" "Yes sir.". There was a shuffling of papers on the other line which caused Jacque's left brow to quirk, "Pretty convenient time to go for a cup of coffee considering there was a ghoul clean up crew that was dispatched recently. Even more coincidental that it happened to be in the twentieth ward.", Now Jacque's brow raised up even further, "I hadn't been made aware of this. Do we know who was responsible?" "Yes,we know who it was, you, however, don't need to. Don't forget that your employment here hinges on your ability to focus solely on information provided to you specifically. Do I make myself clear?. Jacque sneered ever so slightly at the tone being used towards him, "Transparently. May I ask whether or not anyone has gotten to the request that I made as of yet", "Your request is under evaluation. For now since you're already out you can take the midday patrol shift. You are welcome to do a bit of searching in the other wards on the way back if you see something suspicious, but under no circumstances are you to interfere with the work of any of the investigators outside of ward eight.", "Acknowledged.".

Jacque hung up and shoved the phone into his coat and turned to apologize to the man only to discover the guy had not only disappeared, but had left enough money for both of the coffees. After wondering who the man was and lamenting the fact that he hadn't gotten his name, Jacque rose from his seat and exited Anteiku, now ready to begin his job anew.
20th Ward, Anteiku Cafe

Jacque stifled a yawn as he stepped out of his jeep and adjusted his glasses to better keep the sunlight out of his eyes. It seemed as though most of the ghoul activity was primarily done around night, as even ward thirteen seemed to be relatively peaceful at the moment. Jacque had no idea that the CCG branch for this particular ward was busy cleaning the kill of other agents, it wasn't his job to know after all. His knowledge of the other wards was mostly limited to what information he was told by other investigators. He was currently using said information to see for himself if the little hole-in-the-wall type cafe he stood in front of really was as good as some of his coworkers claimed it to be.

Jacque left his weapon on the floor floor of the passenger seat of the vehicle as he walked into the cafe. As he entered the establishment Jacque found himself surprised with the quaintness of the place; it was plain and yet somehow as warm and inviting as a home, a far cry from some of the other coffee places he'd been to in his travels which usually focused on ramping up the cool or uniqueness factor in one way or another to reach to the younger customers rather than focusing on making good food and drink. After taking a seat in an empty booth near a window and ordering a cup of columbian brew, Jacque began to gaze out into the streets and at the people passing by, wondering if at some point he'd be made to cleave one of two of them in two for his next paycheck.
8th Ward morning, CCG Branch Office

'This is Jacque L. Marrow, reporting in with my biweekly report as is required by the contract of employment. Ward Eight's ghoul activity remains at a consistent low, more than likely due to the existence of the CCG head quarters in this area. Current ghoul kill count still remains at twelve: Six Bikaku, three Rinkaku, and two Koukaku and one Ukaku. On a separate note, attempts to locate the body of the person of interest- one Koutarou Amon, rank: Special Class, remain fruitless despite my efforts. It is at this time that I would like to submit a formal request to be transferred over to an area with higher concentrations of ghoul activity in order to better fulfill the annual quota that has been listed in the contract of employment. Perhaps Ward Thirteen.'.
Jacque smiled mirthlessly as he reread the email that he was about to send to his superiors before hitting the send button. He waited until the familiar ping of his laptop notified him of the email's departure before shutting the device and leaning back with a sigh in the office chair he'd been provided.

Two years, that was how long he'd been stationed in Tokyo. Not a massive amount of time in the grand scheme of things, but long enough when one was being paid to hunt monsters. Still the money was good, and with the email he'd just sent, Jacque was liable to receive even more payment for his efforts. The contractor lazily reached out onto his desk and held his hand a few inches above the suitcase shaped device that sat innocently next to his work laptop. He let his hand hover there for a few seconds, then snatched up the device, once again marveling at the lightness of the device despite knowing full well what it was like when in use. Jacque held the weapon high over his head, allowing the blade to give off a dull gleam in the fluorescent office lighting. He'd never admit it, but he was beginning to grow a tad bit bored; the main bulk of his work saw him placed in an office chair or crammed into a car or dirty alleyway in search of monsters that were damn near indistinguishable from the average Joe until they went for a bite of your face. In two years he'd seen more ghouls that he'd cared to count, and yet he'd only personally engaged perhaps eighteen, and of those eighteen, only twelve had actually been taken down by him. Jacque stared listlessly at the device in his hand -Molten Rhapsody he'd taken to calling it- and gave a small grunt before getting out of his seat and making his way towards the nearest exit. He needed to get out of this stuffy building and get some fresh air, perhaps take the time to visit some of the other wards.

(he has hazel eyes, stands at 6'2", and weighs one hundred and eighty three pounds)
You're just another paycheck to me.

Name: Jacque Marrow
Known Alias: N/A

Group Name: Orthros private security corporation
Quinque Type:
The weapon is about 55" long overall

What does your mask look like? N/A
Which Ward do you live in: 8th

Personality: Jacque is a detached and dispassionate man with somewhat sociopathic tendencies; His upbringing has left him with a rather skewed sense of morals, and he displays little regard for the lives of others in the field, often chalking up the casualties as either sloppy mistakes or occupational hazards. Jacque is a very business minded sort of fellow, ruthlessly efficient in his work to the point that he might be seen as perfectionist if not for the fact that the amount of work he puts in was directly correlated to how much he get's paid for his work. Money is just about the only thing that he shows any sort of interest in, and -provided he can get away with it- he's even willing to look the other way when it comes to ghouls if offered enough cash.

History: Jacque's life has been a bit of a rough and tumble one: A nasty divorce between his parents in his early youth somehow landed Jacque in the care of his father, a rather well off man who ran a rather successful private contracting company that spanned several continents. Being that his father was a busy man who really only wanted Jacque to spite his ex-wife, Jacque's father would often leave Jacque in the care of some of his employees rather than shell out the extra cash for a proper babysitter. Those that actually had children of their own took to Jacque swimmingly and treated him just as they would any other kid. Those without children offered him the only thing they could, and being that they were mercenaries, that 'something' was usually either combat, weapons, or language training. This continued until Jacque hit the age of eighteen and decided to actually get paid to put the things he'd learned to use by working for his father's company. After a nearly a decade of work he would be sent to Japan with a few coworkers and very specific orders to keep his trap shut about the work he was going to be doing. As it turns out, the CCG was in the market for disposable soldiers, and he and his merry band of mercs fit the bill perfectly. After a few missions left his coworkers either dead, indisposed, or considering desertion, Jacque would eventually be signed on as a long term asset due to the fact that he continued to barrel through whatever happened to be in his path so long as there was a dollar at the other end. This and his willingness to keep his mouth shut about the work his does convinced higher ups to permit him rank 2 ghoul investigator privileges for the duration of his contract. He's been in Japan for two years now, and doesn't seem to keen on leaving so long as the money keeps rolling in.

What way do you swing? No real preference, everyone's fair game provided they can actually get his attention
