Lauren’s hand closed around hers, and Aedrianna held on.

Her eyes frantically searched for Noelle, but what they found was the blood she could see trailing from Lauren’s side. Noelle’s torn kimono, Yume’s limp tumble, Yumi’s broken weapon and battered body. The man that had been blasted apart like sand. The strangely blue grey man shouting up at them, and now coughing up blue blood. Aedrianna’s throat tightened as the strange curtain swallowed them and the violent pull vanished. The fall became slow. Dreamlike. Almost merciful.

“I’m sorry,” she breathed, though the words were nearly lost in the vastness below.

Then she squeezed Lauren’s hand tighter and shut her eyes. A slow breath filled her lungs.

Then another.

The panic that had gripped her earlier gradually loosened its hold as she forced herself to focus. Soft golden light began gathering around her fingers where they remained wrapped around Lauren's hand. The glow spread gradually outward, flowing across her skin like warm sunlight through water. Pale blue and gold mana drifted away from her in gentle ribbons, carried through the air toward the wounded figures nearby.

The light sought Lauren first.

Then Noelle.

Then Yume and Yumi.

Michael.

Shael.

Anyone she could reach.

A faint hum escaped her lips. Barely audible, more instinct than song. The mana answered.

The light spread outward through the cavern as healing laurora blossomed around the drifting group, gentle and steady where her earlier magic had been wild and uncontrolled.

Actions:
1. Take Laurens Hand
2. [Healing Light] - [Magic] C, [Affinity: Light] F, [Magic AoE] D, [Healing] C - Character hums a hymn that spreads light up to 500 feet around them and casts healing magic on anything within the light. (Grade C, 3 Post Cool Down)

The remainder of the journey passed with a simplicity that, in hindsight, many would later consider a blessing.

The roads remained clear.

The weather held.

The wagons rolled steadily onward through fields, hills, and stretches of woodland road without incident.

The caravan paused at creeks and roadside clearings when needed. The horses were watered. Meals were shared. Stories were exchanged beneath open skies and beside modest campfires.

As the days passed, strangers became familiar faces.

The escorts settled into the rhythm of the road. The wagons continued their patient journey toward Ryken. The precious cargo remained secure beneath its canvas coverings, carrying the faint earthy scent of Petal Moss wherever the wind happened to wander.

Fallon gradually grew more comfortable around her protectors. Though still shy, she spent less time hiding behind her blanket and more time watching the world pass by beyond the wagon seat.

For Marla, each uneventful mile felt like a gift.

No bandits appeared.

No monsters crossed their path.

No wheels broke.

No storms threatened the cargo.

The road simply carried them onward.

And sometimes, that was enough.

By the afternoon of the third day, the walls of Ryken finally appeared upon the horizon.

The sight drew a long breath from Marla that she seemed to have been holding since the moment they left Bom Bom Farm.

The wagons rolled through the city gates without difficulty, joining the steady flow of merchants, travelers, and caravans moving through the capital.

Their destination lay beyond still, but the most dangerous portion of the journey had come to an end.

The cargo had arrived safely.

The contract had been fulfilled.

And for the first time in a very long while, Marla allowed herself to believe that perhaps her daughter had a chance.

The people of Bom Bom Farm would remember those who had accepted the job.

Not because of some great battle.

Not because of some heroic last stand.

But because when they needed help, the adventurers had come.

And they had seen the family safely to their destination.

The air rushed past her in a dizzying rush as she spun out of control. That had been stupid. Very stupid. She wasn't thinking clearly at all. When Noelle appeared at her side and settled her spinning, she stared in horror as her magic shot out towards other unfortunate souls.

She and Noelle weren't any luckier. The magic bounced off something and came flying back at them. She yelped and threw up a barrier in a knee jerk reaction. A Glyph of light magic appearing in a circle in front of them. [Light Barrier]

The barrier was barely summoned, when Aedri caught sight of some of the other souls that where trying not to die as they fell. One specifically evoked a number of emotions from her. Which she really didn't feel like she had the time to properly proccess. And so the only words that came out were....

"You!!" She pointed at the white haired golden eyed girl with a certain level of excitement and indignation. Of course, the pillar of rock and dirt that she was about to slam into kept her too busy to properly converse with the strangely familiar acquaintance.

Another yelp escaped her as she tried to push away from the oncoming pillar. Her foot finding purchase on a light barrier that formed just beneath her foot. Like a stepping stone suddenly appearing in the air.

Actions:

1. [Light Barrier] - [Componentless Magic] D, [Magic] D, [Barrier] F, [Affinity: Light] F, [Hardening] F, [Energized] F: Character summons a light barrier to block an oncoming attack. (Grade D, Cool down 2 posts)
2. [Stepping Glyph] - [Magic] E, [Affinity: Light] F, [Hardening] F , [Energized] F: Character forms a glyph of light in the air and pushes off of it. (Grade E, Cool down 1)

Time had always been a fickle thing.

Sometimes it slipped through trembling fingers before one even realized it was gone. Other times it stretched endlessly, forcing every painful heartbeat to linger far longer than it should. A year of memories shared with someone dear could vanish in an instant, becoming little more than fragile bubbles swallowed by the sea. Bonds of trust and romance could burn away beneath the weight of revelation in mere seconds.

Time rarely cared what mortals wished of it.

And as the earth vanished beneath Aedrianna’s feet, time slowed once more.

The last several weeks had been spent carefully, almost delicately; trying to rebuild what had once existed between herself and Noelle Nishi. Somehow, impossibly, the siren had lost memories of the friendship they once shared together. Torn away. Stolen. Left hollow in places Aedrianna still remembered vividly, now that her own memories had been returned.

Yet even without those memories, Noelle had still smiled the same way.

Still listened with that familiar patience.

And slowly, piece by piece, Aedrianna had convinced her to travel together again. To wander. To adventure. To place distance between herself and Lord Stormcrest after learning the truth surrounding his benefactor.

Noelle had simply become the perfect reason to leave.

They had been walking through a market in one of Ryke’s smaller cities only moments ago. Browsing trinkets. Comparing foods. Laughing quietly between stalls beneath the afternoon sun.

Then the world broke. Stone collapsed beneath them with a deafening roar. Aedrianna barely had time to gasp before gravity seized her.

The sky vanished.

Wind screamed past her ears as dirt, shattered timber, and broken stone tumbled alongside her into the abyss below. Her body twisted violently end over end through the darkness.

Feet down.

Then head down.

Then sideways.

Again.

Again.

Her stomach lurched sickeningly as the world became a blur of crystal light and shadowed stone. Loose strands of pastel-streaked hair whipped wildly across her face while the rushing air tore the breath from her lungs.

For one horrifying moment, instinct threatened to overwhelm her. Panic clawed at her chest. Her eyes squeezed shut as she forced herself to breathe.

In.

Out.

Focus.

There was no ground in sight. That realization alone sent ice through her veins.

Still falling. Still no end. At least that meant she still had time.

Aedrianna forced herself to spread her weight outward, flattening herself horizontally against the violent stream of air in hopes of slowing the descent even slightly. The pressure buffeted against her limbs as debris whipped past from every direction.

A wagon wheel spun past close enough to shatter bone.

A beam of timber tumbled end over end beneath her.

Something large screamed somewhere deeper below.

"NOELLE?!"

Her voice vanished almost immediately into the roaring shaft, swallowed by distance and rushing wind before it could properly echo back to her.

Blue violet eyes snapped open again as she twisted sharply aside, narrowly avoiding a jagged slab of falling stone. Another shape passed nearby.

Not debris.

A bug.

A massive one.

Her heart seized violently as memory flashed through her mind, hittering tunnels, the Queen’s nest, suffocating heat and bodies writhing through the dark.

For half a second she froze. Then her jaw tightened.

"...I hate bugs." [Bugged]

Light gathered instantly along her fingertips, brilliant against the darkness as mana surged through her hand in radiant strands of gold and pale blue. Her eyes locked onto the nearest creatures spiraling through the descent alongside them.

And then she fired.

Actions:
1. Gather bearings and slightly slow descent by spreading weight horizontally against the airflow.
2. Avoid debris and nearby hive bugs while falling.
3. [Light Arrows] - [Magic] B, [Affinity: Light] F, [Magic Range] D, [Selective Magic] D, [Magic Targets] F
Aedrianna fires 10 concentrated light arrows from her fingertips toward nearby hive bugs within range. (Grade B, Cool downs 4 posts)

Izzy shook her head, crossing her arms in frustration as Aren suggested the owl hadn't spoken.

"Nah' No'way et ain' been tha' fochn' long since ah' drank. Ah'm no'lightweight..." She insisted. But her eyes narrowed when the owl twisted its head and remained silent. "Oh'ye' think ye're real funny aye?" The woman muttered, her eyes flicking between Aren and Neo and the Owl.

Another swig was taken after that, as if just in spite of the suggestion she'd had too much. Boots crunched on the ground with oddly confident steps, despite the slight sway in her gait. When they arrived at the rock, she leaned up against it, quietly surveying the targets. She nodded, screwing the cap of her canteen back on, when Marrion scooped her up.

The womans arms instinctively hooked around the females neck. And Izzy immediately grimaced and let out a barking laugh. "Oi Oi! Take ah woman out tae' dinner first why don'tcha! Gettin' awfully handsy!" The former pirate let out a snort of laughter again. Nodding and waving her hand dismissively as the bug girl gave her suggestion.

Despite being placed somewhere discreet and out of the way, Izzy pulled her canteen out and staggered straight out into the middle of the road, walking up to the guard on the left. She grinned and pointed at him.

"Eeeeeei! You!" Her voice rang out across the stone path—loud, careless, impossible to ignore. "Ain' this th' part where ye ask a lady if she’s lost, hmm?"

She took another step forward nearly tripping, catching herself on nothing, and laughing it off. The canteen swung lazily from her fingers.

"Or d'ye Empire boys only know how tae march an' look pretty in armor?" She stumbled forward again, this time deliberately. Her body dipped low like she was about to fall, and then snapped upward in one fluid, whip fast motion.

Her fingers flicked from the canteen, something thin and glinting slipping between them. A needle, Precise, and controlled. Her drunken sway turned into surgical strike. Two rapid taps. One at the inner elbow, one just beneath the collarbone. Followed by a third; light, almost playful tap at the side of the neck. Pressure points meant to paralyze opponents temporarily.

Actions:
1. Step out of cover
2. Try to catch the attention of the guards
3. [Doctors Drunken Strike] - [Fighting Style: Drunken Fist] E, [Incapacitate] E, [Flexible] E, [Acurate] E, [Acrobatics] F: Character strikes in a drunken fist style to paralyze the target. Hard to hit. (Grade E, Cool Down 1 Post)

The last of the village voices faded gradually behind the caravan, replaced by the quieter sounds of open road.

The wagons rolled onward, their wooden wheels settling into a steady rhythm against the packed dirt. Harnesses shifted. Hooves pressed forward in an even cadence as the horses found their pace beyond the narrow village road.

With the cottages behind them, the land opened wide.

Low hills stretched gently across the horizon, broken by long fence lines and scattered clusters of trees. The morning sun climbed higher, burning away the last traces of fog and warming the damp earth beneath their path.

At the front, Marla guided the lead wagon with practiced hands, her posture steady as the reins rested firm in her grip. Fallon sat beside her, tucked beneath her blanket, her attention drifting outward now that the noise and movement of the village had fallen away.

The girl leaned slightly toward the edge of the wagon, watching the road and the escorts moving alongside it. There was a quiet ease in her now, a soft curiosity replacing her earlier shyness.

“Mama…” she murmured gently.

Marla glanced down without slowing the wagon.

“Aye, love?”

Fallon hesitated for a moment before giving a small, careful smile.

“It’s… nice.”

Marla’s expression softened, just briefly, before she turned her attention back to the road.

“Aye. Let’s hope it stays that way.”

Behind them, Jacob handled the second wagon with a more relaxed posture, one hand loosely holding the reins as he kept the horses in line with the lead cart.

The rear wagon shifted slightly as it rolled over a shallow rut.

Jacob felt it immediately.

“Easy now…” he muttered, giving a small adjustment of the reins before leaning down to check one of the tied straps along the side.

He gave it a firm tug, tightening it with a practiced motion before settling back upright.

“Don’t need these crates wanderin’ off on us.”

The canvas covering the cargo rustled softly in the breeze, carrying that faint, earthy scent of fresh herbs along the road behind them.

Ooc: Alright let's revive this. Those of you that are going to attend, please describe where your character has decided to settle/ get your social time in to talk to npcs/player characters.

There are two wagons. One is driven by the mother and her child is sitting in the wagon beside her.
The other is driven by Jacob a farm hand/aid. The boxes seem to be herbs, maybe?
