I'm looking to post soonish. Should I just have my character walk up into the rooms and find (quite to his surprise) that they're occupied?
Sonitus was silent as he was dragged back. He put up no resistance, like all living organisms, he had no intention of being barbecued. It wasn't exactly like he had fled to be rude, or disobedient. He simply tried to avoid any unneeded conflict by leaving. He didn't want to share his story, and he would feel awkward being so blatantly secretive.
After returning to the group, he noticed the new guy. Great, now they were just picking up any stray from the street. No need for explanation (he hadn't been there for the explanations), just put blind trust in every random hobo who happened to be near. Still, he took care to make no visible reaction to the newest addition. That would bring attention to him, and right now he was hoping to become as small as possible. From what he had seen, everyone was already annoyed with his antics, even though he didn't think he'd done anything wrong.
