The War of Panitil

The land of Panitil is filled with ancient beasts, legendary magic and awe inspiring sights. From the great mountains of Singahal, to the beaches of Ninoa the land is full of adventure and wonder. But no one sees the land for what it is. All that replaces it is the fear and depression of war. The black shadow of death has covered the land for the last five years, and as the war continues to be stuck in a stalemate the people on Panitil fear that they will know the feel of the blade before they know what peace is again.

Panitil is controlled by the empire of Yid, founded by the great king Ginal. Before him, Panitil was just a random collection of barbarians and rouges with no loyalty. Ginal was able to unify many while destroying his opposition, but not without help. During his travels he met a golden dragon, a beast so rare one has not been seen since the days of Ginal almost two hundred years ago. Ginal, near death due to a battle he barely won, met with the dragon. The beast had been beaten and tortured by the very enemy Ginal had just defeated. The dragon extended an offer of gratitude, seeing Ginal as a capable fighter and worthy king. He offered him a pact, a joining of souls that would save them both and grant them immeasurable powers. Ginal saw no alternative and agreed, merging his soul with the great beast. Gaining the power of the dragon and its fire allowed Ginal to conquer the rest of the land. He named this empire Yid, after the dragon who gave him the strength to create it.

Now the great kingdom of Yid has been the focus of the war. Some view it still as the one place that order truly exist. Other see that order as tyranny in a clever guise. The great Goddess, Princess Quila, is the flag which this empire waves with pride. She is the first female ruler of Yid from Ginal's bloodline, as her father and mother could not produce a son. Quila took upon herself the duty that many women who marry into the royal line do and take on the job of becoming The Goddess. A living embodiment of perfection and innocence, whoever holds the title of Goddess is considered to be the very image of the land of Yid. All who see Yid see Quila as the living entity that represents the legendary kingdom. Yet she does not lead the charge for battle.

The voice that leads them is the great warlord Vikash, Quila's betrothed. Brought together through their parent's desire to settle a dispute in the kingdom, they were once a great presence of stability and love. Once Quila's parents fell ill however Vikash felt it necessary to take over control of Yid and all the lands it controls. Politics was not the make-do king's forte sadly. Instead, the blade and a mighty fist is what keeps the lands in line. A policy that has brought on the one thing Quila detests above all other things: War.

The people of Panitil are now raising banners against the Goddess and her husband. Tyranny and slaughter being the only thing that they can hold responsibility for. Not the so called order and peace they seem to throw out among their propaganda. A young man, Dina of Moushak, raises his blade against the terrors of Yid. Having lost his father and mother, the dukes of Moushak, he believes it is his duty to bring the false king and queen to justice with his own version of it. Yet in this world strength is given to the undeserving and taken from the just as quickly as the waves disappear back into the ocean. The tyranny must end, but do you have the strength to battle against the armies of Yid? Soldiers who fight for a man whose thirst for blood can be seen in his ruby eyes? Soldiers who fight with the only desire in their hearts is to protect their beloved Goddess?

Then again, you have suffered greatly as well have you not? Family, friends, homes, loved ones. Something must have been taken from you by now. And the only question you can ask yourself is thus. Will you accept a false king and Goddess, or will you raise more than a fist in defiance.

Never forgive...

Never forget...

In this war...

There is no regret...
Yeah we are still open. I'm still getting some small details sorted out here before I make the forum so go ahead and take your time.
Oh shucks. My bad Drache. I forgot your character was a girl. But yeah she is accepted, as are all the other ones.
Nice. We got two firsts with those characters. Our first non-pact character and our first female character. I'll set up the forum in the morning and look to get everything set for the story. Thanks guys.
Another very good character there Razbat. I think one or two more characters pending Tiberious' interest and we can make the forum and start with the story.
DOWN GOES MUSHROOM MAN! DOWN GOES MUSHROOM MAN!

Inadi laughed at Ace's reaction to his comment on her hat. At the very least they could take their mind off of the danger of the fight with a good joke between them all. Stressing was not going to help bring that monster down in any stretch of the imagination. Then again it was probably for the best that they focused on the damn thing until it was dead, since all the vines still flying at him were beginning to become a very serious nuisance.

Inadi watched as Harper ran off to fight against the mushroom thing and saw as he traded blows with it, cutting off another arm as he began getting crushed by a vine. Inadi was about to run in and try to assist, but that idea quickly went by the wayside as Ace set the thing a blaze with fire and it made the vine loosen its grip. Letting out a sigh of relief he continued to wait for the beast to fall into the nearby pond so that he could deliver whatever final blow needed to be made to finish off the creature.

The vines were wailing around uncontrolled now it seemed. This was the monster's last stand, and a poor one at that. Like some kind of punch drunk prize fighter, it flailed whatever attack it could muster to try and keep the enemies at bay, but at this point it was an exercise in futility. Inadi swung at the few that were headed his way and saw Ace get hit by one as well towards the tail end of the little offensive. Even a cornered rat needed to be feared, and this thing clearly didn't want to go down without some kind of fight.

Inadi turned to Leila and saw that she was pulling back her bow. Staring at the monster, he saw that if the arrow stuck it would probably throw it into the pond. Removing the last few vines in his way, he prepared himself to make a quick run to the pond to ensure that the plan would go through. This was their best chance at killing this thing and even with it on fire it was proving to be a pain on the way out the door of the living.

The arrow stuck. The monster fell. A splash was heard. Inadi quickly ran over to the pool of water and set his spear down as he began focusing his energies into his hands again. Clapping them together he began seeing the lighting being built up in front of him. He wasn't sure how much he needed, but considering how tough this sucker was on land, he figured he would need a hefty amount of power to put this thing down for good.

The pool was deep. Granted it was already dark but it seemed as though this pond was bigger than they imagined. Inadi wasn't even sure if the beast was still in the water considering how black the bottom looked. Still building his energies, hands clasped onto each other, he got his answer as the monster returned to the surface with a screech that echoed in the cavern.

Inadi shook his head and began pulling his hands apart, bolts escaping his grip as they jumped to different sections of the cave. “Trust me when I tell you, this is gonna hurt you DAMNED MONSTER!” Inadi screamed out as he threw his hands out in front of him and watched as a lightning storm rained down on the monster's head and the rest of the pool. The entire cave lit up with the electricity, and the pond flashed bright white as the lighting coursed in the water.

The monster stiffened and flashed white every few seconds as well, the current going through him just as it had Inadi a few minutes prior. The human dealing the blow continued to shoot his power into the water as the beast's screams became mute and the body seemed to become charred from the power. Eventually it seemed that enough was enough as the mushroom man began sinking to the bottom, all the while Inadi continued his attack to ensure that this was the end of the creature.

Once it left the surface, Inadi stopped his attack and dropped his arms to his sides. Staring down at his necklace, what was nearly full was now just a drop away from being empty. Feeling dizzy, he had to quickly readjust his footing to try and stay up on his feet. It was a difficult task as he began feeling gravity do its job and finally pulled him down. He was able to at least angle himself so that he landed on his side. The pool still had small bolts jumping around the water, and Inadi didn't feel like joining their attacker in his new watery grave. Inadi let out a groan as he tried to keep his eyes open, his body desperate for rest now. “Good plan Harper. Glad it worked out.” He said in a low tone. He wanted to scream it to the boy across the cave from him, but he didn't have the strength to carry his voice over the distance at this point. “And good job by you two as well. Did a hell of a lot more than I did.” Inadi said to the two girls of the group. He was unaware that Leila was already passed out or the state of Ace. At this point, he didn't have the energy to lift his head and look around. He was too caught up in the lights of the cavern that he had enjoyed prior to their little battle they just had. Letting out a sigh, he began feeling his desire for sleep take over as he let his eyes rest for the moment, waiting for sleep to come to him.
Very nice character sheet there Drache. I have updated the information with a map as well as the city information and known creatures in the universe.
Yeah I was thinking the same thing anyway. Plus I never like leap frogging someone in the rotation when it comes to posting. Haha!
I'm just thinking about this right now, should I wait until Four posts before I put up mine? Since Inadi is the whole ending to this plan of shocking the hell out of that mushroom thing, should I wait until Leila pushes it in the pond or something?
