Hey guys. I just want to let you all know I'm gonna be struggling a little bit here in the next few days emotionally. I learned that my dog back home in Tucson had to be put down today.

He was an old dog, about 12, and apparently had a really bad convulsion back home. Its always terrible when a pet dies, but this just hurts worse since I wasn't even there to watch him go. So just letting you all know I may be a little sluggish at times for the next few days, but I'll still get my stuff up no problem. Gotta keep the train rolling here.
Posted the edited version of my post to include my reaction to Lesley and Inadi talking about his day before arriving in Nowhere. Luckily my brother woke me up early by whacking me in the nose in my sleep this morning. XD
Shoot I must have missed that during my post. Sorry anon. I'll try to see about getting an edit in tomorrow possibly if I can get up early enough. My bad.
Awesome. Here's to a great season everybody! :D
Brick Newell began his stretch routine with the rest of the team. He was smiling while trying to keep the sun from getting into his eyes. Watching as coach walked past him he noticed he was wearing a smooth pair of aviators. What Brick wouldn't give right now to get those on his face to keep his eyes from feeling like they had some kind of laser being shoved into them. Shaking it off, Brick decided to turn his attention to his teammate in the line next to him, a fellow junior he entered Sentinel State with almost three years ago.

Colin was in some kind of trance it looked like. He wasn't really staring out at anybody and he definitely seemed to not be paying attention to the seniors that were controlling the stretching drills. In fact, he almost seemed like he was one step ahead of them. Letting out a laugh Brick tried getting his attention. “Colin.....hey Colin.......Colin man you there?” He asked with a laugh as he continued with the stretching. This wasn't the first time he had gone and done something similar to this. Colin seemed to always get lost in some kind of day dream. You almost couldn't believe he was a football player with how much he day dreamed to be honest. Though it wasn't hard to know what it was about.

“You thinking about Ivy again man? I know you are cause you only get like this when you think about her man. Don't deny it,” Brick told him in a whisper. Last thing the two of them could afford was for coach or one of the seniors to hear them chatting like this. It usually ended up in unnecessary suicides that made you want to commit suicide in the end. “You got all day after practice today to be with her in real life rather than your dreams there big guy. Gotta stay focused or coach might take that scholarship away you know. At least that's what he always threatens to do.” Brick told Colin as the sun continued beating into his eyes.

Up in front it sounded like Adam was getting all hyped up again like he always did around this time. He had grown to look at the running back as a leader of the team as well as Rafa. Adam however was much more the loudmouth of the two of them. Brick leaned his head out so he wasn't directly behind the guy in front of him and looked towards Adam up near the front. “Yeah yeah, pick on the freshmen all you want Adam. Once we get to trench drills I'm gonna put you on the ground,” He said as the team's upperclassmen let out a quick chuckle. “Just like I did last year during camp.” The last comment awoke a whole lot of ohs and awes. Brick laughed it off and shook his head. He always liked to start up the competitive juices early in the season like this. Got the young guys in the mood and reminded the more veteran guys that it was business time again.

Brick gave a quick look to some of the new meat that was coming in and nodded his head in approval. Bustamante seemed like he was gonna be a huge help in coverage situations. Not often you found a six foot six corner out among the crop of football talent. Then again Texas was full of man-children waiting to be discovered. Football had a cult like following down there. And then the country strong kid McKenna was not to far off from him. He was definitely gonna enjoy reaping the benefits of having a linemen tearing apart teams in the trench while he got after some easy tackles. The linebacker looked over to where coach was and gave a quick shout. “How soon til we make the pads start popping coach?! I got a fever! And the only prescription is some good ol' contact!” Brick said as some of the other players started laughing in the middle of the stretching routines. God it felt good to be back on the field again.
Figured we needed to get some LB love in here. Can't wait to start busting heads with Scott and Jimmy (if my guy is good to go. If not I'll fix it ASAP).

Name: Brick “Hit Stick” Newell

Year: Junior

Major (+Minor): Communications

Gender: Male

Hometown: Pittsburgh, PA

High School: Greater Latrobe High School

Position (+ Number): ILB (51)

Height / Weight: 6' 2” 231lbs

Biography: Brick grew up right next door to the training camp location for his hometown Pittsburgh Steelers. Seeing the his idols every single July so close and watching them destroy the competition on Sundays made him want wear the legendary hypocycloids as well one day. Brick made it a mission that he was gonna be the next great football player to come out of his little home town. At an early age he began training his body to make his high school's football team as a defensive end. After making his freshman team he was told he would need to adjust to a linebacker position. While he didn't like the idea of the move, his father began showing him film of some of the best linebackers the Steel City had ever produced. Brick's father worked in a steel mill during the glory years of the Steel Curtain and had recorded those games on an old Betamax recorder. Brick spent weeks watching old greats like Andy Russell, Jack Ham and Jack Lambert to see how they maneuvered on the field during plays.

His freshman year turned out to be quite a success all things considered. He led the team in tackles with 72 and tackles for loss with 20. Brick's sophomore year however would turn out a lot worse as a GPA problem would have him miss the first game of the season. While he would have been eligible to play the next game his father personally had him removed from the team entirely. While Brick was beyond angry at the choice he did see the purpose of his father's decision. His second year in high school was completely dedicated to getting his school work done and make it his number one priority. Making the varsity squad for his junior year, Brick went into the year with a 3.5 GPA and went on to lead his team to State as the captain of the defense. The year then after they repeated as champs and Brick graduated in the top ten in GPA with a 3.8 average.

During his recruitment process he received opportunities to go and play for other schools such as Penn State and Alabama, but was only given red shirt scholarships from major schools as well as being told he would need to move to safety due to his size. Sentinel State came in late, but offered the best opportunity. He was given a starting job as the team's Mike linebacker and he immediately committed to the school.

Brick gained his nickname for his tendency to lower the boom on tight ends coming across the middle and running backs sitting back waiting for a screen. He has the speed to cover running plays tackle to tackle and can keep his feet moving to push zone blocking schemes from opening holes so his defensive linemen can make the plays. He still has some work to do on his hands as he has only caught seven interceptions in his time at Sentinel State, but is considered to be one of the top zone cover linebackers in college. Doesn't have the speed to keep up with receivers one-on-one, but can at least make it a pain for them to get off the line. Does a film study to catch quarterback tendencies and will at times call an audible when the team isn't in a good scheme to face off against the next play.

Personality: Brick is a fun guy that enjoys a good night out on the town as much as the next guy, but doesn't really party too much around the campus. Always has a smile on his face it seems and loves throwing playful jabs at his teammates when he catches them doing something embarrassing. Takes his jabs with a laugh when he gets caught though, so he knows how to take his own medicine. Stays serious about his academics and keeps a 3.6 GPA up. Says that the Dean's list is his favorite award to put on his shelf as a joke. On the field he may be the biggest trash talker in the league and lets his opponent know when he made them look stupid. If a teammate makes a big play he will more than likely be the first guy going over to the guy and smacking his helmet around to show his appreciation for the effort and hustle. When someone starts getting into it with a teammate he is always ready to throw down. Sometimes known to give small cheap shots at the bottom of a pile as payback for a previous offense. And of course, he does it all with a smile.

Appearance:
Got my post up there folks. And may I just say since we are all saying it, Fox this is my favorite roleplay I have been a part of as well. That's why I tend to look up all the new roleplays you make on the site. You always make great universes that are easy to get sucked into and join in a hurry. This one is a great example. I joined in as the, what, fourth generation of new character and I never felt like I was struggling to get into the story. Thanks again Fox for making me love roleplaying again like when I was a kid using just a notebook that I passed around with friends. :)

Inadi shot Ace a little bit of a laugh as he listened to her deny his idea of the injured stay in the middle of the group. Rolling his eyes he waved her off and shook his head. “Do what you want to do Ace. Just don't trip and fall anywhere. I don't know how much juice that feather has left in it for us.” The quick little jab left Inadi's throat with a chuckle as he returned his attention to Lesley. He was still thinking on how he was gonna carry the man when he had a brilliant idea. Granted his size was a bit of a problem not to mention that Inadi still needed to carry his spear as well just in case he needed to fight against something else that the group had yet to face off against. So he decided he would kill two birds with one stone.

As Lesley quickly jumped onto his back and began adjusting himself to try and find a good spot to sit. Inadi winced on a few of the sudden movements but kept his groans to himself so as to not give Lesley the idea that he was uncomfortable. Last thing that he needed to do right now was make it seem like this whole thing was a bother. Lesley needed to take a break for however long he could. He had been through a lot. As Lesley shifted his leg's forward Inadi threw his spear underneath the other boy's thighs and bottom to lift him up higher. Lifting with his legs Inadi let out a small grunt and smiled. Without saying a word he began walking with the rest of the group and hearing about how the search for the bratty dragon was going.

That stupid dragon seemed to be just as good at hiding now as it was before. Inadi hated that stupid thing more than ever now. He had been thrown around and beaten up by that little beast and he was embarrassed in front of the whole group at the time when Haku decided to hoist him up high in that cave and put him on display. If Inadi got his hands on the damned thing he might just choke it out and turn it into some kind of statue to hang in his personal writing room when he got back home. He wasn't sure how hard it would be to stuff something that was made out of a cloud but it would definitely be worth the effort.

While thinking about destroying the baby dragon, Inadi began feeling Lesley rubbing his head on his neck. Inadi wanted to turn around to check on him but decided it was best not to look at him. Sometimes it was best to leave someone to their emotions so they could at least have them. Inadi felt terrible that he couldn't do much else at this point but decided to continue walking forward. While doing so he felt some tears hit his neck and Inadi let out a sigh. He couldn't say anything, but knew he should have said something.

Harper walked by and apologized to Lesley and Leila not too long after approached them and asked if it hurt. Lesley ended up stepping off of his back and began talking Leila after giving him an appreciative nod. Returning it, he allowed the two to talk as he stayed with the rest of the group and threw his spear over his shoulder. As the group moved towards a cabin Riley began suggesting burning down the thing if there was nothing inside. While Inadi didn't see an issue with the idea it seemed as if everyone and their brother did. Honestly it wasn't like this place was a good place for a summer home. Plus with all the undead in the area it probably destroyed the property value.

Riley then asked for him and Jasper to join her in another extension of the search. “Well if I was a witch I probably wouldn't need switches or trap doors. Probably better off just using a spell to keep it hidden in plain sight. Sometimes the best things in life are hidden in plain sight.” Inadi explained as he looked around the room and gave a few chairs in the cabin a quick kick. Inadi didn't find any reason to keep looking in the damn place. All that was here were shadows and rotting wood.

Jasper then suddenly began talking about how she saw something of interest. Inadi rushed over to see what it was all about and noticed it was just a piece of metal. Letting out a sigh of disappointment he began spinning his spear in his arms. He was hoping that the stupid dragon would show up at some point here soon and he really didn't care to hear about some stupid corps that the person was training for that was in this cabin before. Looking over to Riley he let his agitation show on his face. Slamming the but end of his spear on the ground he blew some air up his face to throw a bang out of his eyesight. “The damn thing is made out of a cloud. How can something, even a witch, hide a living cloud without any sign of the stupid lizard being noticeable,” He told her as he leaned against the wall behind him. “Something tells me that the little guys either isn't here or Witchypoo out there may have already eaten him.” He announced with a bit of worry in his voice as he said that. If the baby was dead, no doubt the parents would take out their anger on them. And there would be even less left of them then what they had left behind of the witch that had given them hell just a few minutes ago.

Thinking back to everyone's revealing of their day before landing in Nowhere Inadi thought of his own situation. New Year's Eve was always an event he tried to enjoy privately. That night however he had some stupid desire to be out and among the crowd. "If I remember correctly I was out trying to find a party for the festivities. Ended up taking a wrong turn and found myself at an above ground subway station. Trying to figure out what place I needed to get to I saw a map that said the next train would take me to where I needed to go. After that the train that you all saw showed up for me as well. I thought the train was full of people in bunny suits and everything else under the sun. Harmless fun to be had during New Years day and all that," He told the group as he pushed himself off the wall with a grunt. "After that I ended up here and would do anything to get myself back home to see what all I have missed." He said as he listened to the rest of the group discuss their memories.

After Lesley finished his speech it was clear that the anger had boiled over in his mind. Inadi immediately dropped his spear and got between Lesley and the mermaid Martini. Grabbing Lesley by the shoulders he tried calming him down as best he could with a calm face, but it was clear that this kind of thing was needed in the end. He also had some questions about the whole sincerity of the bringing of them all here to Nowhere. Eventually letting go of Lesley he turned to look at Martini and the other guides with a bit of a cold stare. He walked away back to where he was before and picked up his spear with his eyes still similar to that of steely knives. He spun the weapon in his hands and let a smile creep up on his face. "Surely there has to be an answer to that question guides. An answer you have to know about. So how about it then," He said as he stopped spinning the spear, the tip pointed at the guides as the smile disappeared and light reflecting off his glasses, hiding his dark glare. "What exactly does Nowhere need with us humans in the end?" He asked with a completely monotone voice. He still had the newspaper clipping about Mr. Cuddles, and he figured there had to be other things this place was hiding from them.
I'd be interested if this started up.
One last bump here to try and get interest.
