I come back and. What. :3
So I missed:
people wanting to flirt ON me, (I'm an artist to a degree but I must draw fan-art of that when given the chance. Possibly give Freija like, the anime crying face)
Skyrim references,
The site crashing
and orcs
and someone going "postpostpostpost".
Yup, nothing to see here. *jetpacks off*
That is exactly what I suggested, yes. :3
Come on, even regular schools do it. << They single out new students as "Oh, ____ you're a new student? Tell us about yourself. Everyone, make _____ feel welcome at school this year."
Cannibalism is always fun, though.
On an unrelated note, I think Third should have like a little welcoming speech like they do in all cool movies and academies at the start of the year and stuff. And maybe she can ask every new person at the school to stand up. Like, first years, students that just enrolled to their later years (that's possible, right?) or otherwise. And give them a warm welcome as well.
I dunno. Just thought it something Headmistressy to do. <<
Besides. Would give the first years something to stand up and cheer for, and Freija to introduce herself to the students.
Actually, you could have the teaching staff introduce themselves or SOMETHING. Prior classes. You know. Just 'cuz.
Damn it. Now I'm curious what would happen if I did change it back to 'peasant' and just sat there, innocently chewing on a thigh and blinking over at James, WHILST sitting next to a boy somewhat terrified of him. A human boy. From a royal family, as it were, but still a human boy.
Elves can be cannibalistic too.
...ish.
It would be a lovely feast, let's all cook Guy the peasant and I get the leg because you know, a growing Elven woman needs her daily fix of meat ahaha.
We'll give the bones to whoever's interested. Disembowel him as you'd like.
I actually want to call dibs on the liver, though. That tastes amazing if cooked well. <<"
I mean not human liver but... >>
You know what? Yeah. Human liver!

And Xelou could flirt with her, but he'd have to keep in mind she's his magic teacher. She might be 20, but she's one of the youngest teachers there, so yeah...perhaps mistaken for a student, apart from that ring she (now by order of Third. Grumblegrumble) wears.
@Mr_pink

SHE HAS NO IDEA WHAT YOU'RE TALKING ABOUT AHAHAHAHA ._.
You saw nothing. Nothing at all. Going to go fix that, asdf.
"pheasant" is such a redundant word, gosh.
Hahahaha.
Talking corpses. ._. So funny. Not like I'm gonna have nightmares for the next week ahahaha-no.
But yes, oh gosh yes. <3 Why eat some high quality meat if you don't cook it right? I mean, you could always just get a nice side dish with the meat too, I mean... I recommend some sort of rice, perhaps jasmine, saffron?
If of course potatoes aren't enough but I'm sure a hungry man would eat it all.
And then wash that down with some red wine, and fruit salad, well recommended Thedreadpirate :P
All in favour of eating Guy?
I!
Freija

The banquet came far too soon.

Freija found herself having time to stop by and unpack just the essentials to such an occasion, consisting of a gown of an emerald hue, much less flowing with a corset across the front and no tail trailing behind her, and a nicer pair of shoes than the riding boots she had on prior. A little crown of Elven fashioned twigs rested on her head, clear crystal being held in the center of it, at her forehead. She contemplated a cloak, but decided otherwise. It would be too warm and stuffy with so many people around, anyway. Washing up and braiding her hair to the side with matching ribbon, she had it tossed over her shoulder when she came in, though by the time she took her seat next to the boy she'd met in the courtyard, it was in messy condition already. She usually didn't mind much, but this occasion found her feeling especially self-conscious. Regardless, it was nice to dine with someone, albeit someone who's name you didn't even know yet.

Though the massive number of people sapped the appetite from her, and she had her fill on mostly vegetables and fish, only once ever taking a small leg of pheasant for herself and even then, eating quite quietly. Though she wasn't sure if it was her underlying nervousness that made it appear so, or just her general upbringing, her eating was dainty, careful. Calculated. Taking tiny bites and tasting each bite individually, letting it roll around her tongue a little before swallowing. Quite uncomfortably, actually.
That lack of appetite really was acting up. She didn't think of herself to be one nervous in crowds, but here it was, and it was happening.

"So...I never caught your name." she asked the boy she dined with, absent mindedly. Her attention was elsewhere, looking over at the people. She scanned a dragonian human-ish creature, some boys engaging in a dance and then breaking it off, and one of them, a little inebriated, going up and talking quite loudly to the dragon. She shook her head. Not a good idea. But they seemed like any other students, messing around on the first day of school and revelling in their primes. Hormones raging, adrenaline pumping.

She completely ignored the little display where the undead teacher almost knifed a student. Brushed it off, almost. Like she'd gotten used to it in about a day. It didn't bother her much, though her eyebrow did rise as it does when she's intrigued when the headmistress came over, whispering indiscernible things to him.
Her eyes fell on those who refused to show their faces. She'd always been curious how they'd eat. First it settled on Azelf, whom she'd got to know via Third earlier in the day, and several other students, or teachers. She wondered why they hid their faces. It was a curious question that had always played on her mind.
It even settled on a lad who moved very little, though the little gestures his hands made intrigued her.

They settled on another blonde boy, though more tanned definitely and appearing quite built too, making eye contact often with this masked man. She'd assumed they were friends. Strange they didn't speak much, though. But to be fair, she wasn't in a better position. She tilted her chin a little when his gaze fell to someone who looked as lost as she did standing in the doorway. Only wondering what he could possibly want. But she did keep her eyes on the young man sitting a little across her, hair slicked back. It wouldn't be of much assurance, but he seemed thoughtful. Maybe just a little reassuring glance would set her straight and give her the confidence she usually had.
He seemed to have been here a hell of a lot longer than she had, judging by how he was relaxed about everything going on.

"...oh, I'm sorry." she murmured with a slightly cracked throat, barely audible by her partner. She righted it by taking a sip of water and asking a little louder, "What was I saying?"
She'd found herself drifting off, and the sound around becoming a dull drone. Daydreamer? Sometimes.
I think a little banquet would be nice. My character is already leaning towards it. However, it wouldn't have to last forever. Just maybe two posts per person before the GM wraps it(the banquet) up, aye? Short convos, much food.
Freija

"You work really hard, eh? Well. You mentioned you'd be taking the magic class. Not like it's an option anyway...I'd assume the headmistress would want all of her students a little familiarised with the art, though I'm still new here enough not to know how much things work. Anywho, it would be quite interesting to watch you work in my class, then, if you're really all that hardworking as you say." her lips curved up in a small smile and she almost purred at the thought, though her eyes ran mental checks on the boy to try and find out some things just by his appearance. He certainly had a thing for...heavy armour. It was strange watching his lanky frame carry it all, though. She dismissed it with a little shake of her head. Anybody could be a warrior, and she was in no place to stand as being of any help on the battlefield. She was pretty useless without her magical abilities, anyway.
His following smirk made her eyebrow rise a little in a playful, sarcastic manner as well, and by the time she was done, she spoke softer, almost patronising to a degree. "I'm sure you have some sort of talent to be accepted in that class. Something you mightn't even know about. We'll see if it brings out anything in you. Say...if you survive long enough." And here she laughed, a sweet, melodious little sound contrasting with the darker shades of the joke at hand.
"Err...you probably will though, I mean. How hard could it be?"
She found herself enjoying her new conversational partner, though most people at the school already seemed pretty hardened by war to her. Or by classes. There was a solemness about the air that was almost tangible. Everyone seemed quiet, in wait for something. Living deep in the sheltered Elven lands for so long left her a little bit unaware of what might have been on their minds.
Regardless, she walked on, soft thuds against the ground of two pairs of feet. From the corner of her eye she noticed a bit of a commotion involving a lot of teenage girls, and an older figure, and two boys she assumed were students. She'd seen one of them before, with Third, and wondered just how he'd got himself into a fight so fast. She silently nodded with the words of the man standing over them in his bright armour. "Reckless." she murmured to herself, before she tilted her chin up to the sky to notice the colours begin to change already, as the time of day changed into the next phase. It would be time soon, and she'd heard that there'd be a welcoming banquet in the evening as a ceremony to make everyone feel at home. She needed that. She'd like to go.
"I don't even know your name, actually, lad. But I'd assume...you've been here longer than I have? You certainly don't seem as enthusiastic or lost as a first year. And seemed pretty comfortable with Third back there, though not James as much. I would like if you'd accompany me to the banquet this evening. And if not, well...atleast show me where it is? Hah, I really need to familiarise myself with this place. Sometime, sometime. It's been a long day already."
"Ah, you won't have to worry about it, my lady. It was a question that slipped my mind now, or...isn't as important anymore." Freija trailed off, still left a little shaken as both the undead man and the younger, livelier lad walked off. Until she came to her senses and panicked a little, "Wait, how did you-"
She froze mid-sentence. It would be silly asking Third. Her magical aura was glowing brightly, and it didn't take a genius to guess that mind-reading was one of the more minimal of her abilities. Shaking it off, she gazed in either direction, before she made up her mind of what she was going to do. Smiling warmly to the headmistress to excuse herself, and to the boy she was with as well, she even placed two of her fingers against her lips, an elven greeting to them both, before telling him he had no need to worry if he was in her class either. She'd be as good a teacher as she could, but for now, she had another question on her mind.
What makes that particular boy so special? These classes seem not for the weak of heart, and he seems...Well. Human. Unexpected.

"Wait, uh...you!"
She realised she'd never caught the name of the blonde youth, and running in a dress was difficult, though atleast her footing was sure on the grass and she could cheat in letting her magic add that much more skip to her step to catch up with him without being too out of breath. She slowed to a casual walking pace beside him, blinking up at the lanky frame in curiosity. No magical aura. There was nothing particularly significant about this boy. Except well maybe, he seemed delicate. Like he had been pampered for a lifetime, though being able to get into an academy like this certainly wouldn't have him like that for long. He seemed quiet. A little thoughtful? Sad. It was difficult to tell.
"So...um. Right." she paused to sigh here, "I'm glad I at least know one of my students now, but you do realise survival classes can mean unpredicted deaths, at any time, don't you? Doesn't the thought deter you...even just a little bit? And you agreed up front. Why? Is there a reason?"
