Katie - Blanket Fortress - Emma

Katie heard a voice and curled into a ball, trying to make herself as small as possible.
It was a woman's voice. She didn't sound scary. In fact, she sounded silly.
"You're silly," Katie said from under the blanket nest. "No one is scared of me. I'm too small."

She was quiet for a few minutes after the woman, Emma, told her her name. "Katie," she said quietly. She peeked out from under her blanket at the woman. "Nobody likes me. I really want my daddy."

Jessalyn - House - Floyd-

Jess held on to Floyd, putting her arms around him as they laid on the floor. He finally passed out. That was good. He needed to sleep.
A snarling sound made her look up frantically. A walker head appeared in the window. Then another. Then another.
Floyd's screaming in pain. It must have attracted walkers from the surrounding area.

Jess wanted to scream but she bit her lip to stop herself. Whimpers of fear came from her even as she struggled to stay quiet. As long as she stayed quiet, they would go away.
Stay quiet. Don't move.
Stay quiet. Don't move.
Stay quiet. Don't move.

Those two sentences became a mantra in her head. She closed her eyes tightly and buried her face into Floyd's chest.
Stay quiet. Don't move.
They will go away.
They will go away.
Stay quiet. Don't move.

She wished Floyd was awake. She wished he wasn't hurt. She wished the walkers would all just disappear.
After a long time she finally dared to turn her head and look.
The window was clear. Did that mean they were gone? She listened hard, but could hear nothing.
The relief was incredible. She melted against Floyd's chest, her limbs feeling numb. One of her hands cradled her stomach.

There was a scratching sound at the door. Jess tensed up once again until she heard the sound of barking and running feet. Dogs. Probably wild dogs scavenging. Nothing to be afraid of.
When she tried to get up, to go and get something to put under Floyd's head, his grip on her tightened when she started to move away. A weary smile came to Jess' face. She laid back down beside him. She'd stay next to him until he woke up.
The water bottle was on the floor nearby. She reached for it and drank a little before setting it within reach of both of them. Floyd would be thirsty when he woke up. He would probably be hungry too. She'd make him something. She'd also clean up the place a little. Getting him to stay in bed while he recovered was going to be difficult, but she was going to have to convince him somehow. Maybe she'd tie him to the bed. That might work.

Making plans, thinking about these things helped to calm her down, helped her breathing to be steady. Soon she dozed off as well.
The world outside didn't matter. They were inside and safe and together. That was all that mattered right now.
Katie - Haywood - All Alone

As Bull was led away Katie thrashed and fought her captor. "Let go, let go, let go!" she screamed and finally got a good kick in the man's stomach which caused him to let her go.

The instant she was free Katie took off running. She didn't know where she could go. There were no air vents to hide in this place. People shouted and a few tried to grab her but she dodged and kept running.

She finally got tired in a room that looked like a laundry room. There were clothes and blankets everywhere.
Katie grabbed a large blanket and pulled it under a table. She made a nest out of the blanket and crawled inside out of sight.

She wanted to stay in her blanket nest forever. She wouldn't come out until her daddy came and got her.
Katie started to cry again, her little sniffles muffled under the blanket. She wanted her daddy back. Why had he gone away and left her alone?
Now she had no one. Lauren was hurt. Bull had been taken away from her. She was in this strange place full of strangers. And no one liked her for some reason.

Her daddy would have wanted her to be strong. But she didn't want to be strong. She wanted her daddy back.
Jessalyn - House - FLoyd

Jess nearly cried with relief when Floyd finally spoke. But as he started telling her what to do she got a horrible feeling about what he wanted her to do.
She went and got the lighter and knife, then started to heat up the knife like he said. Her hands started to shake with fear.
She couldn't do this. There was no way she could do this.
But if she didn't, Floyd might... might...

No. He wouldn't. He couldn't.
She had to do this.

Once the knife was red hot she pressed a hand to his cheek. "I'm so sorry," she said. Tears leaked down her cheeks as she brushed his hair away from his face. Leaning down, she pressed a kiss to his lips before looking at the where the bullet had entered.

Looking upward and breathing deepling, sending a prayer to whatever god was listening.
Then, closing her eyes, she pressed the hot knife against his flesh.

His muffled scream of pain made her squeeze her eyes shut tighter as she started to cry harder.
When she opened her eyes it was to see that she had sealed it, but not enough. The moment he moved it would pull loose.
"I'm sorry," she sobbed as she pressed it to his skin again. The sounds of sizzling flesh, the smell of it burning, was enough to make her want to vomit.
And she still had to do the other side.

By the time she had finished one side she was shaking, pale and ready to collapse. She wiped her face and took a shuddering breath.
She needed to do the other side.
"I'm... going to d-d-do the other s-side," she told him. "I'm s-sorry."

Taking a deep breath, she heated the blade again and did the other side. It didn't take as long, but it seemed to take hours to her.
When it was finally done, she dropped the knife and covered her face with her hands for a moment, trying to breathe.
She poured some water from the bottle onto the scraps of cloth she had torn from her shirt and laid it over the burn areas but didn't press on them.
She helped Floyd drink some water, then scooted down so she could lay beside him, holding his hand as he rested.
Sorry it is so short, but I wasn't sure what to do. I was waiting on fairy to post as Gaston.
Belle - Outside the Castle Gate - Ellise, Gaston

Belle looked at her friend curiously. Did she want to find the guy or not? And it wasn't like they knew where they were or where to go.
Her arm suddenly felt very cold. Right where Ellise had a death grip on it. Then her arm started to go numb.
"Okay," Belle said, trying to pull her arm away from Ellise. "Okay, we're going," she gave a polite smile to Gaston and backed away. "Thank you for the offer, but we have to go."

And as soon as she got her friend alone she was going to find out what the hell she was going to her arm. Because it felt like she was... freezing it...
Will post when I get home
Katie - Outside Infirmary - Out of Control

Everyone was yelling. She hated yelling. She hated confrontation. If only her daddy was here...

Another girl came out and started yelling too. She started yelling about Katie's daddy, about her daddy's men, about how she had been hurt.
But how could that be true? Her daddy wouldn't have let anyone be hurt. He must not have known about it. Yeah, that was it. He hadn't known.

But before Katie could tell her that all of the sudden they were talking about locking Bull away.
The little seven year old girl panicked.
"NO!" she screamed, grabbing on to Bull. "NO! Don't take Bull away!"
If they took Bull away, she would be all alone. Lauren was still hurt. Everyone else was a stranger, and strangers scared her.
Someone grabbed her around her waist and pulled her away from Bull. Katie continued to scream and cry, clinging to his clothes until they pulled out of her hand. She thrashed and screamed like someone was killing her. Her little face got red and she started to hyperventilate in her panic. People started to gather at the end of the hall, looking at them and murmuring to each other.
Alyce smiled and shook his hand, then winced as she shook it with her sore hand. Changing hands, she tried again. "My name is Alyce. And you have to let me give you something. Especially since I'm going to need your help getting back in," she added, hugging herself and looking back towards the city. "I don't know how to get back in. And I really don't want to run into those guys again before I can get home."

She looked back at him. "Matt? I know it's a lot to ask, but could you please help me get to my apartment? I'll find a way to repay you. Please?"
If he didn't help her, she was as good as dead. She'd run into infected before she could get back in the city and even if she managed to get back in without getting shot by the guards she still ran the risk of running into the men who had attacked her. And in her current state she doubted she could outrun anyone and she certainly couldn't fight.

The jeans were big on her, she had to keep tugging them up. The sweatshirt was big on her too.
Matt was a big guy. Tall, muscular-looking, and he had a pair of very nice eyes...
She snapped herself out of that very fast. No ogling of the rescuer. All fantasies reserved for a safe area.

The going was slow. She felt bad for slowing him down, but she couldn't move fast with the pain she was in. Every move hurt.
"I am going to be soaking tonight," she said in a low voice, not wanting to draw Clickers.. "Probably use all my water ration for the week, but I don't care."

As they walked, something occurred to her. "By the way Matt... what were you doing outside of the QZ? You don't look infected."
Katie - Infirmary - Daniel, Shannon, Bull

Katie didn't know what was going on. Everything happened so fast, everyone was yelling. They were in a place that was supposed to help Lauren, but everyone was upset. One lady especially was very upset. She kept yelling at Bull.
Then she said a name that snapped Katie out of her stupor.
Tyler was her daddy. She was talking about her daddy!
Then she started saying bad things about Bull, calling him names and saying he did things. What did all of this have to do with her daddy? She tugged on Bull's arm, "does she know my daddy?" she asked but he shrugged her off, only paying attention to the lady who was yelling.

Finally the lady said something about them leaving. Bull got upset and Katie finally understood what was happening. They were going to make them leave before Lauren got better.
"No!" she screamed and ran to the woman, grabbing her leg. "No! Lauren can't go away!" she cried. "My daddy went away! Don't make Lauren go away!"
She hiccupped a couple of times and wiped at her eyes, but most tears poured out. "Someone was mean to you. Don't be mean to us! Don't be mean to Lauren! Don't let Lauren go away!"

Why did everyone have to be mean? If someone was mean to you, how did being mean to other people make it better?
