I do alot of gardening in my spare time, and also canning so here are a few of my favorite ways to preserve summer.

Peach Cobbler
¼ cup
2 Tbsp. butter
¾ cup All Purpose Flour
2 Tsp. Baking Powder
¾ cup Milk
2 Cups sliced Peaches

Melt butter in a 2 quart baking dish. Combine 1 cup sugar, flour, baking powder. Add milk and stir until mixed. Pour batter over butter in baking dish. DO NOT STIR!
Combine Peaches and remaining 1 cup of sugar, spoon over the batter do not stir. Bake at 350 for 1 hour.

Easy Pickles
4 cups white vinegar
8 cups water
½ cup Kosher Salt
Boil the mixture for 15 minutes. Have cucumbers packed into hot sterile jars with dill, garlic or whatever seasoning you prefer. You can also substitute peppers for cucumbers etc.

Peach Peels & Pits Jelly
1 pack of pectin
3 cups of sugar

Directions:

1.Place a minimum of 4 qts peelings and seed in heavy pan.
2. Barely cover with water.
3. Bring to boil and let simmer for about 30 minutes.
4. Let stand overnight.
5. Strain juice through cheesecloth.
6. Measure 3 cups juice into pan.
7. Add 1 pkg powdered pectin.
8. Bring to a rigorous boil and add 3 cups sugar.
9. Boil juice rapidly until drops sheet off spoon as in jelly testing.
10. Skim off foam.
11. Pour into sterilized jars to within 1/2 inch from top.
12. Band and process in water bath for 5 minutes
This will work with any stone fruit, example plums or apricots etc.

Pear Butter
1. Peel and slice pears
2. Puree the pear slices
3. Pour the Pureed pears into a saucepan
4. Add sugar and cinnamon to taste
5. Bring pears to boil and simmer until the puree has thickened and is half of its original size
6. Pour into sterilized jars to within 1/2 inch from top.
7. Band and process in water bath for 5 minutes

This will also work to create applesauce or apple butter

Smash listened to the conversation unfold so far there had been two people voted on, one human wanted the position and the girl seemed reluctant to be the captain. Smash crossed his arms over his chest and flexed his biceps as he began talking. "As it stands we have been voting for 2 people unless there are no more nomina ahh whatever that word is, anyway unless no one else wants to be cap'n let's just vote and have beer. I say we let the bar wench count the votes so it's far and let's get this over with. There's gold to be made, and women to be pulled into er I mean ports, ports to be visited."

After saying his piece Smash reached to the food tray and finished off what was left of the cheese.

Bear stood up and followed the man as he walked away. "I will follow you, I came across a trail a few days ago from a band of bandits that have been raiding some of the local villages. I'm not implying anything by your smaller stature my friend, but you look like you may need a companion at least to the next village."

As he walked through the woods his sharp sense of smell warned him that he was not alone in the woods, he stopped walking and sniffed the air again. "My friend it looks like we are not alone. He shouted loudly, "If you're a friend show yourself, if your not prepare yourself for my axe cuts deep." Bear then pulled his double bladed axe from his back and waited to see who would reveal themselves first.

As Tosh traveled through the storm drains he chatted quickly with several of the rats and sent them on ahead of him. Several minutes later one of them returned and told him a cold one was waiting at the drain outside of the theater. Based on the description it was Peter which meant Eriko was at the Camarilla meeting. He lifted the broken grate on the storm drain cover and emerged a few feet from Peter. Before he was completely out of the drain Peter said, "Eriko wants you inside."

Tosh rubbed his hands together as rats do, then nodded to Peter before scurrying into the theater back entrance. The nice thing about theater's was the false floors and hidden passageways, especially in older ones like this. He traveled through the tunnel and up a staircase before emerging out of a door marked "Stagehands Only" He took a seat in the balcony closest to the stage.

While awaiting the arrival of the rest of the members he stroked his chin thoughtfully, if Eriko needs me then this could prove worthwhile, the last "favor" for Eriko ended quite profitably, in fact the coin he had acquired on the journey turned out to be from the Hun Dynasty in China, which was a very nice addition to his collection. He excitedly thought of all of the possibilities and his mouth began to salivate. Nothing is better for a Gangrel than a good hunt.

Tosh picked up a rat that had followed him in and chatted with it quickly, and gave it precise instructions. Several of the rats were to scatter around the building hiding in the walls and other places and report any conversations that may be of value. He set it down gently on the faded carpet and watched it scurry away.

He waited patiently as the members slowly trickled in. There were only one or two faces he recognized. Due to his preference of dark tunnels, he often stuck but he didn't care. Sadly it was for that reason that most of his counter-parts refused to speak with him let alone remain in his presence for any longer than necessary.
