Hey diddle diddle I am a cat without a fiddle.

Bio

So it all began when I was born... *goes on a long speech about their life story from birth to present day*
And that's how I became who I am today. Good story?

My name is Mizu Neko. I am more-or-less a NEET, due to reasons I do not want to get into. So I have a lot of time to spare from my worthless life. :^) I try to draw, which after a few years of no improvement, I feel I might be improving very slightly. I guess I just needed to try more poses. I also feel I should try drawing more characters than the Mizu twins, but whatever, I'll get to it someday.

I also like to write and I feel like I am better at it than drawing, though not by much. I am working on a story called Neko no Shousetsu - Kiiro no Sekai, which basically means, "A cat's novel - The Yellow world". Which the second part doesn't really make sense. It isn't a yellow world. It's basically named that because the main character has yellow hair and the world itself is called KiiroSekai. It will have an alternate take from Neko's rival's point of view, which will be called Inu no Shousetsu - Kiiro no Sekai. I know if we went with the hair colour naming scheme, it'd be akai no sekai, meaning red world. But again, the world itself is called KiiroSekai.

I am planning other series as well, I am just trying to focus on KiiroSekai above all other stories, so Xero will have to wait, even though I had Xero in my mind much longer. I do not claim to be great at writing, in fact that's the whole reason I decided to start roleplaying in the first place.

Music I listen to is hardly varied. I either listen to weeaboo music or something edgy like Linkin Park. That's about it honestly. My favourite songs are: Basically anything from Kagerou Project, Irony by ClariS, and basically anything from Hybrid Theory or Meteora.

My favourite colour is yellow and my favourite food is orange chicken. I hate dogs and find them ugly and annoying similar to a baby. I don't have a problem with their owners (though a lot of them can be crazy) but dogs in general I just do not like. I have many fears and I am rather cowardly. Likewise, I am pretty emotional and I cry often.

I watch anime, I feel that I've hardly seen anything, but I guess I'm all right with how much I have. I'm starting to lose the whole feeling I used to have when watching anime. Not sure why, but it might have to do with a majority of its community being annoying rats. Other than that, I also try to keep up with 50+ series per season but then end up making it only a few because fuck that shit. If you wish to have my MAL account, here it is: https://myanimelist.net/animelist/NekoMizu My list of Chinese cartoons, enjoy mate. I've been getting more into manga than anime, which my list does not prove whatsoever. If you have any *new* manga you'd like to suggest, go ahead. I'd really appreciate that.

I play games, though not many. Not as much as I used to. I mainly just play Nintendo games like SSBM and Pokemon. I have a PS4 but have nothing to play on it, I bought PS3 games thinking they'd be playable, but nope. I also *sometimes, but rarely* play Runescape (OSRS) and my IGN: Sansational. My favourite game I'd have to say is Donkey Kong 64 (I wish they would bring the kongs back. Especially Chunky Kong)

In terms of language, the only thing I speak is English. I am learning how to speak Japanese, though I'm not good at it quite yet. I have taken Japanese classes for five years.

**I would prefer not to be called an Otaku, please.**

Currently watching:
Pokemon Sun and Moon
Dragon Ball Super
That one fall 2016 anime about girls and ping pong.

Ha, that sounds like an interesting way to get into the world.

Well then, that settles that.

Not sure if we have much else to say about this unless you have any lingering questions. Besides that, we just wait I suppose. Until someone else is interested or I have more information to bring up.
@NekoMizu

Perhaps if the population is only about a hundred thousand then a city would be around ten thousand and above and towns would only have a thousand or so. I don't know; I'm not big on specifics. I would think that a city is a central hub for trading, questing and such for a single region. Think of it like a kingdom surrounded by small towns and most go there to trade off their things.

Maybe there's somewhere out there. But if you could learn the in-site dice, I think it would be better.

I'm not sure how many people are in the world, but that sounds about like a good base amount for a worldwide population. Also since the way people get into the world is basically random, there's not telling how insane some of the methods could be. Like one of the canon characters get in by eating a rune advertised as a piece of candy at a store and merges itself with the character's heart, probably causing an explosion, bringing their sibling inside the world with them.

I know of a couple websites that offer dice and an android app that does as well. Otherwise, yes, I will probably be using the in-site dice.

Hallo nice to meet you otaku person.
@NekoMizu

You could have that one powerhouse character as a villain in the over-arching plot. You know, he won't appear just yet but you would hint at it. Although considering that we're talking about him now, it's not that much of a secret.

I would guess just calling them 'cities' would be ideal. Since the others are just called 'towns'.

That's true. Although you could just use online dice to do it, so long as you remain fair.

Well I never stated his name nor his personality or really anything at all except that he is a powerhouse and that he is male. So me bringing him up wouldn't mean anything.

True, I could call them cities. But we don't even know what the world's count for the difference between cities and towns are, so it'd be hard to say it's different in population. They could have monthly population checks in every city and town and total it up and go about it from there I suppose. Since the world is only 10 years in the making at the time Neko arrives, It'd make sense that city population is not so big. Definitely not as big as cities on Earth.

You mean like a website dedicated to die rolling? I could probably screen shot the results or something. But I would still need to stalk the tabletop rp threads a bit to get the idea.
@NekoMizu

Well, you could always think about the other places but at least you have the main city in place.

Ha, I don't understand it much either. So we'll be going off with pure writing skills then? Of course, if it's just a small group, I doubt PvP will happen that often.

I might take away two of the six characters that I said I'd have automatically. Since one of them is a powerhouse who is basically just there to be the death of all the characters in Animals, even though he used to play the role of a hero in a past idea for the story (same personality though).

Yeah I'll definitely come up with the other towns, at the very least the I guess great towns? I don't know what to call them. There will probably be three or four of them and will be the most known towns in the story.

I could try to figure the dice thing out, I'd probably prefer dice to make it more fair, since in PVM someone could literally just say won without effort.
@NekoMizu

Alright, so we have that down. Each player can create their own plot that would develop their characters and affect the ones around them. But I think having an over-arching plot would be best so that we don't stray too far away. Like maybe, after n quests, a monster boos guy appears and creates mass chaos or something like that. Just so the others have something to do.

So you also have the layout (and names) of the cities and what is in it so that's good as well.

Are you planning on using dice to determine the character's fates or are we settling most RPs with just pure skill in writing?

See, you already have most of the stuff down. I think that should be enough for the RP to start. The setting, the CS, and of course you need the first post. Now, you need more interest.

Well not necessarily, to be honest, I only have Milmil, since it's the most important city in the story. I think my naming idea for Milmil was the fact the city is basically known for trees and Neko's non-combat profession in KiiroSekai is lumberjack/woodcutting. And then I... Saw a sawmill in a game and thought about the name I guess.

Dice. I don't understand dice whatsoever. Unless we use an online website that does dice or we do dice physically, I don't see how it works. I saw the dice thing on the home page, but it confused me completely.

Yeah, I guess it does all come down to if people are even interested in the idea. Which I don't know how many people we should have. It's a small group, so not much more, though if more than 3 - 4 are interested, I'm definitely willing to let them join if possible.
Welcome back mate
@NekoMizu

Okay, so it's another world that anyone can access. So it's more of a free-form, non-plot driven place where we shape the world as we see fit? But I do assume that there are things like missions for the guild and in the town. Maybe even add a crisis so that the players come and work together to avoid said crisis.

Well, the site is pretty basic. I mean, you already got the hang of quoting and mentioning. The options on the reply box is just basic HTML. As for roleplaying, well that depends on you. Well you can respond after everyone had posted (when doing a GM post where you detail what is happening around the characters, what they should be seeing, controlling NPCs for other characters) but you can also post after someone who is interacting directly with your character.

It also entirely depends on you if you want to go with a posting order (where you assign who goes first and then the next and then the next until everyone has posted) or you can just let the users post whenever they want. In the case that they post at the same time and their posts contradict each other, one of them could edit their post to fit the other one. Usually it's the second user who has to edit.

Usually, a character sheet is provided when the roleplay topic has been made. But there are some who put their character sheets on the interest checks so that the ones who are interested can go and make their own characters and wait for them to be approved.

As to what has to be placed on a character sheet. First of all, basic information (Name, age, appearance, [personality is optional], [history is also optional]) and then you go to the more specific ones for the roleplay. As for this one, I think you would need - [Fighting Class, Allegiance (animals guild or some other), Weapons, If wizard, what element?, Spells that they know (I think you should be the one assigning this one), Goal.

Well for the sake of the rp, it's not the same as the real story, since it's not all the same characters. I'd probably only have 4-5 characters from the story since they are the most important. Maybe even a 6th now that I think about it. But I wouldn't say it's not plot-driven, it's plot-driven in the fact the players make their own plot I guess? There are quests, which when done give a point-like system that work similar to currency, except the points can only be redeemed for random things in the questing district.

That reminds me, districts are a thing, and every town is split up between multiple districts including three that every town must have. Questing district, Housing district, and Shopping district. Milmil, the base town for Neko has one more. The skilling district, which all I guess main towns have.

I'll be providing things to make this a little similar to tabletop, since there are levels, there needs to be EXP. (I'll be keeping a spreadsheet of everyone's levels and such as well) I'll also try to come up with spells for mages to put in a list. Basically I'm making a book of details in the ooc of the main post.

Quoting isn't really hard. It stands out pretty easily, especially if you've used a forum at one point in your life. I'll probably make it free to post whenever you want, since some people might take a really long time to post and it would completely hinder the progress. I'll probably make it a rule if they contradict any posts, it should be edited.

As for the character sheet thing, I'm going to have likes and dislikes as well. And favourites, because I feel they will come in handy. Also species, if they are in animals, they have to have a set animal that isn't already used (Since most of the story characters are not canon in the rp, that opens up almost 20 animal selections that otherwise wouldn't be there). I have a huge list of questions that I used for the main story CS, but that would turn so many people away lel so I'll have to pick out what is truly important.
@NekoMizu

I get the premise of the story. Basically, we're players (or characters) in the game. I assume we're part of the group Neko and his sister are in? Although my main question would be, are we working to some sort of goal? To be free of the game or are we just travelling around?

Hm, what don't you understand? How to roleplay or how to GM?

Well yes and no, technically it's not a game. Not everyone there is a nerdy NEET who doesn't leave their homes. There are even the elderly in this world. A goal? Well, that depends on the character, really. The MC doesn't care about leaving, due to him being lazy and the fact he'd prefer a place similar to this. I guess the goal of the animals guild is basically to unite people with animal features, which for the most part the name determines that. Most of the actual story takes place in the town that Neko arrives in since that's where he lives and all.

I don't understand much of anything on this site nor do I understand roleplay whatsoever. Basically, I don't know when I should do anything. I also don't know how I would manage groups either, like who goes when. Do people go just whenever? That seems wrong what if two people post at the same time and they contradict each other in some way? Also, I do not know if I should post a character sheet in this thread, nor do I know what to put on said character sheet. (Like what is important to the story)

@NekoMizu

Ha, you can do it.

Got any questions about the story or anything?

Personally, I don't understand how any of this works, I'm just trying to roll with it after lurking through the forums, this is as far as I manage to understand at all. Though, I've only been here for a day.
