Actually, yes. I like the sheet, it's an awesome concept, but you mention that the Alunei originate / are based in an area called 'The Soul'. Where.. like.. where is The Soul? I'm going out on a limb here and assuming that's not literal nomenclature.

I was given a very strong hint about it in PMs with Darkmatter. Not sure if he wants to keep it a secret or not, so we should wait for him. But yeah, there is one, and it's going to probably fuck us up really hard. SO yeah, we've got that going for us. Which is nice.

I liked it. Besides, i'd imagine that you're all responsible RPers who don't take every opportunity to wave e-penis in-game and murk everybody else in the game just because you can. Also, dat antagonist. We still need all the oomph we can muster. Like, seriously.

I know he started it when he was 15, not sure when it was published, though he never even had a high school education. If I am not mistaken, he was completely homeschooled.

Still, you're right, we're veering way off topic here. Just leave it at 'everyone has opinions'. So to get into the meat of things, where is everyone planning on starting with their characters?

It was not. It's main selling point was that is was written by a 15 year old, even though all the marketing and publication was done through his parents being overly proud of their first kid's novel attempt. Though maybe i'm being overly mean saying it was bad, it just wasn't at all worthy of the hype. Behind it all, it was a very standard, archetypical (I still don't know why people would market a book as archetypical) fantasy novel that has almost all of it's influences pulled from the great fantasy novels of our time. I could go on for a very long time about my pet peeves with the whole series and why it isn't too great, but i'd rather not be that guy who tells people what they can and can't like. Sure, my gripes with it are subjective, but the way it was marketed was objectively bad and i don't like that. All in all, no, I don't enjoy it and didn't think it was good at all.. but..

Also I think the general consensus here is that everybody has tricks up their sleeves. Nobody has a specific advantage over any one else because we're all sneaky bastards. So yeah, the Naeri might have a couple of unexpected combat skills, but so do the Goblins by the sounds of it, maybe even the Orcs, the Dragon! Maybe even the Knight or the Jungle Lady. Who knows.
