When they hear news that a child of Arthur Blackwater is still alive, they would likely rally together to put a Blackwater back on the throne. Although Lucien is technically the heir, the fact that he betrayed his kingdom means no one wants to see him on the throne. Which could raise some interesting angles with him possibly trying to start a faction, maybe mostly mercenaries, to reclaim the throne. That however would require a great deal of money which he doesn't have.

I figured no one would automatically know he betrayed him, and would just think he died. When they see he'd alive, I figured he would lie about it and make up some sort of story about beung captured or whatnot. Of course the story would fall apart as soon as he used Necromancy, which he might be careful to avoid around certain people at first.

Appearance: Lucien Blackwater is a man of average, standing at five foot and eight inches, with a lithe yet toned frame, making him a very agile individual. He has a very fair complexion and angular features. His wavy hair is a dark brunette, almost black color with slight tinges of grey here and there and reaches down to barely brush the tops of his shoulders. His eyes are a light grey color. He keeps his pointed chin shaved, but can be seen with stubble on rare occasions. His once full and healthy features have degenerated slightly from his service to Malfear, making him appear paler and more gaunt than he did before but not so much as to appear ill or starving.

I was born as the eldest son of Arthur Blackwater and his queen. I had many siblings and half-siblings growing up. Many of them made attempts to take my place as the next king of Gorgon, but that comes later in my life. My early life was spent under the tutelage of many brilliant scholars brought to Gorgon by my father. They come from far off lands and taught me much of the world and the ways of the court. I excelled in my studies, but they bored me to no end. There is not much to speak of my early childhood past that.

My adolescence was spent in the courts and dodging attempts to take my place in line to the throne. There were several attempts on my life and many more attempts to slander my name. I managed to survive, though. I was once poisoned at a ball in honor of my fourteenth year. Lucky for me, one of the guests attending the ball was skilled in the healing arts. This was the first taste I had of how the court really is. Another attempt happened in my seventeenth year; I was attacked in plain sight in the middle of the courtyard by one of my father’s soldiers. I survived by luck yet again, as my savior came in the form of a spooked horse that ran the would be assassin down. My name was drug through the mud more time than I can remember. It hurt my reputation, but my reputation was not what made me the next in line for the throne.

When I came of age, I decided to join the ranks of the Gorgon Rangers. I trained under them for five years and became their Commander at the age of twenty-three. There were many men more skilled and better suited for the job, but my name won me the position; that’s not to say I was lacking in skill, though. The Rangers were tough masters, and did not take it easy on me just because my name was Blackwater, mostly because I made sure they were ordered not to. I came out with many scars and some trauma, but I survived and became the stronger for it.

Then came the war with Malfear. I marched on the Necromancer with my father’s army, taking with me my Rangers. The war was a terrible sight even for hardened veterans. The dead would overrun our ranks, adding to theirs, but I could help but be amazed at the power of the Necromancers. I was always fascinated by magic, but was never able to pursue the art… until I chose to join Malfear’s ranks. The night I left my father’s ranks and betrayed him and my country, I stole away from the retreating army with the stealth taught to me by the very Rangers I betrayed; you see my father chose to retreat when we were so close to victory because my uncle had used his absence to take the throne and start a genocide of our family.

I made my way into the midst of his army, surrounded on all sides and laid down my arms, saying I wished to become a Necromancer just like those I had been fighting against. I was accepted into their ranks, Malfear knowing if I managed to survive the ritual, which I did, that I would be his and under his influence. That is exactly that happened. I went through the gates and came back to the world of the living with a soul clutched tightly in my hands, and I was reborn as one of Malfear’s Necromancers. My mind was not destroyed, but it was not my own. I followed him and killed in his name for three years, learning all I could of Necromancy and even managed to learn the art of Illusions. When Malfear was defeated, his hold over me broke and my mind was once again my own. I escaped and returned to my homeland, only to find it under my uncle’s rule and my family slain.

And now, I hide in the swamps of Gorgon, using my Ranger skills coupled with my Magics to kill what I can of my uncle’s men in an attempt to reclaim what is rightfully my birthright.
