Appearance: At the tender height of 5’3”, Kitty’s kind of short. Coupled with her round cheeks and somewhat childish sense of fashion, it’s hardly surprising that she’s frequently mistaken --much to her mortification-- for a twelve year old.
Power Set: Kitty can teleport. That’s all fine and dandy, of course, except for the fact that she has a lot of trouble controlling her powers. Sometimes, when she’s feeling stressed out, she can’t visualize her destination at all and ends up completely unable to use her powers. Other times, when she’s particularly relaxed, she can’t
stop herself from visualizing a place, and ends up teleporting completely by accident. Sometimes, she even teleports in her sleep.
Other Skills: - After years of waitressing at her mother’s restaurant, Kitty’s developed a pretty great memory! She has no problem memorizing things, so studying is fairly easy for her. She takes excellent notes, and tends to excel in her studies.
- Kitty is surprisingly good at video games and arcade games. She plays a lot of MMORPGs, and is a highly ranked player in many of them. She always uses the handle name “Kitty_Cat”. Why? Who knows.
- Kitty is very durable! Despite her complete lack of any kind of healing or durability powers, she can withstand most minor injuries due to her long and unfortunate history of clumsiness.
Weaknesses:- When she’s caught off guard and her concentration is thrown off, Kitty is almost completely unable to control her powers, thus rendering her pretty much useless, and more of a hindrance than a help.
- Kitty also has some crippling insecurities about her appearance that can make her difficult to work with.
- Her enthusiasm can make her a bit overwhelming for friends and teammates sometimes.
Personality: In certain moods, she’s a bit of a
daredevil, but otherwise, she’s fairly laidback about things. Kitty is a cheerful and generally quite friendly person, though she tends to get very enthusiastic about things she likes and causes that she’s passionate about. However, to be honest, she can be quite insecure, and has a bit of a complex about being mistaken for a child, though she’s fairly used to it by now. She also happens to be a bit of a glutton, and has an enormous sweet tooth. Her stomach is the way to her heart! She is very easily impressed too, actually.
Backstory: Kitty’s parents are both Chinese: her father is a stock broker from Hong Kong, and her mother owns a small Chinese restaurant. She’s pretty sure her family is perfectly normal, actually, so she has no idea how she ended up with powers. Recessive genes, or something? Or maybe her mom drank radioactive… something… while she was pregnant? Whatever, she has no idea. Aside from many, many teleportation related mishaps that occurred throughout her childhood, Kitty had a fairly normal, somewhat sheltered childhood.
(Although she doesn’t know it, her father is actually Dr. Freeze, a super-villain with ice based powers. He’s still pretty normal in his day to day life, though, and he adores his daughter.)
Other:- She has a deep-seated hatred of horror movies after one of her friends persuaded her to watch one with them and she ended up accidentally teleporting herself to a nearby abandoned mental asylum.
