Q: Why did the chicken cross the road?

A: The answer is trivial and is left as an exercise for the reader.

Hi!!! I have a character sheet written up! It's a boy, for once, and a younger-brother type character too. What do you think?

Kanako was late, and not just a little bit, either: it was almost nine o'clock, and she had entirely missed first period. As she struggled to climb over the locked school gate in a skirt, she briefly wished she could control her powers well enough to actually phase through the gate without leaving her clothes and dignity behind. Then she lost her balance for a one short and terrifying moment, and reminded herself to actually concentrate on the task at hand.

It was a good thing that not many people were this late to class, because if anyone had been around, she would almost definitely have flashed them. As it was, she got over the gate minimally embarrassed, and started sprinting to class. By the time she actually made it to her second period classroom, she was red in the face with exertion and trying not to pant too loudly. The teacher --a stern-looking elderly man with an incredibly bristly moustache-- gave her a rather unimpressed stare. He had been her homeroom teacher last year as well, actually.

Kanako winced. "Sorry I'm late, sir," she mumbled, fidgeting. Was Touji in her class this year? She didn't see him, but maybe he was skipping.

He sighed. "Go sit down, Sakihara."

She nodded meekly and made her way to one of the unoccupied seats near the back, wondering if it was worth risking her teacher's ire to text one of her friends. Math class was so boring, after all! She quietly withdrew her phone from her bag.

To: Mizutani Touji
From: Kanako
MESSAGE:
are you at school today???? or just not in my class??? hellooooo????

Allen sat in class and did his best to focus, but he kept getting distracted by the boy sitting next to him, who was currently engaged in a rather dramatic text exchange with his girlfriend. She seemed to be accusing him of cheating on her with some other girl.

"Mr… uh… you there. With the black hair and the glasses," said the teacher. Allen looked up. Him? Sure enough, the teacher seemed to be pointing at him. "Are you new this year? Come up and predict the products of this alchemical formula for us."

On the board was a rather easy alchemical formula. Davies' School of Magecraft did not, after all, specialise in alchemy, so students only really had to learn the basics.

"Yes, Mrs. Inoue," he said, standing up dutifully. "I'm not new this year, though. I've been in your class for the last two years, actually."

A few people snickered.

Mrs. Inoue blinked. "I see," she said at last.

Allen sighed. Whatever. He was used to this sort of thing.
Wait a sec… Chiyo-chan… dating sims… @Hebigami Shiho, did he borrow that game from Kanako? Actually, I have the feeling Touji is the type to borrow games from people and never give them back…

I'll get up a post as soon as I get home :)

UUuuuuugghhhh..... I HATE being employed!!! ;~;

Will post tomorrow.... had to work overtime today...

Sometimes I think school is hard, and then I remember how hard working is, and I suddenly appreciate being a student so much more. =.=
Just stick Kitty wherever. But-- if there's only 5 female characters, and 3-4 people to a room, then if we DON'T stick all of them together, where do we put the other person? It would kind of suck to be the only one with NPC roommates, so, maybe it's best to have all the girls together?

It would also be freaking hilarious.

Name: Allen Kelly

Age: 17

Occupation: Allen’s parents send him money every month, so he can’t be bothered to get a job.

Appearance: As far as boring people go, there’s pretty much no one who looks the part more than Allen Kelly. With his average height, average weight and generally forgettable face, Allen’s the type of guy who could sit next to you in class every day for three years, and you still probably wouldn’t be able to recall his name on graduation day. That’s alright, though. He’s come to terms with his bland appearance.

Gift: Allen’s always had something of an affinity with dead things. His powers were discovered on his fourth birthday, when his unfortunate mother walked into the kitchen to find that her young toddler had somehow managed to make his way onto the kitchen counter, and was making the chicken she was trying to cook for dinner dance a jig in the oven. Although his magical abilities didn’t manifest in any particularly unique ability like an Esper’s would, they always tend to work a little better when he’s doing something that involves a dead body, or maybe a spirit or two.

Spells: Allen’s spells are all tattooed onto his arms, because he’s always been kind of forgetful, and it really wouldn’t do for him to forget his spell book at home and end up getting into a bad situation. He’s got a grimoire at home somewhere, too.
- Corpse Resurrection: Allen can resurrect and control up to three corpses (human or otherwise) at one time, to be used as distractions or, occasionally, shields. If the body is particularly fresh and he puts a lot of energy into it, he can make a dead body mimic life fairly effectively, but it takes a lot of concentration. He finds it much easier to just do things zombie-style.
- Spirit Drain: Allen can use dark magic to drain the life force of his target, rendering them tired and unable to concentrate, while bolstering his own mana reserves and energy. However, fully restoring his own health can take up to seven minutes of continuous concentration, which his opponent can disrupt by attacking him.
- Nightmare: Using this spell entraps Allen’s opponent in a nightmare in which they are tormented by their own inner demons. The spell is more effective on people who have done things that they regret, but it can be broken by either forgiving one’s self for whatever they are being tormented by, or outside interference.
- Dark Tendril: Allen can use solidified dark energy as a sort of sharp tentacle to stab his opponent. This is by far the easiest of his abilities to use, because it doesn’t take much concentration, unlike his other spells.

School: Davies’ School of Magecraft

Personality: The fact that he’s a part-time necromancer and budding dark mage isn’t really something that Allen likes having publicized. As far as people go, Allen’s politer and friendlier than most: he just happens to really, really like dark magic. Despite his somewhat sketchy interests, however, Allen’s really a very normal guy, and honestly quite forgettable. He’s a little scatter-brained and tends to forget things, but he generally tends to be quite organized. He shies away from large gatherings of people, mostly because when there’s someone more interesting available to talk to, people tend to ignore his existence.

Biography: Allen’s parents, a pair of wealthy entrepreneurs, discovered his powers very early on in life, in a strange incident involving a dancing chicken carcass. Growing up, he was most firmly assured that having necromancy-inclined magical abilities most certainly did not mean that he was evil or a devil worshipper or any such rot, and as such, Allen had an incredibly normal childhood. At the age of fourteen, he was sent off to Academy City to train his powers, and has been there ever since.
I'M BAAAAACK!!!!!

I'll just add him to the character list, then :)
Oh, I was actually wondering if I could double up too? I have a character sheet for a mage, and if you guys would prefer that I didn't use him, I totally don't mind, but we seem to have a shortage of mages and I kind of like having two characters to play with, hahaha. Here's my CS: I'm getting on a flight right now, so I probably won't be back for about 14 or so hours, but what do you guys think? He's a necromancer/dark mage-ish kind of thingy! But he's also kind of boring.

I'd be interested in this too!
Sounds like everyone who's supposed to know someone else is pretty much sorted, then!
Since me, Nightmare's character and (i forgot :0)'s character are all in the same school, i'd think that my character and Nightmare's would get along, along with the upper-under classman relationship that i'd have with mr.whozat's character that was pointed out earlier.

So basically Kanako, Eri and Touji are all buddies. Cool, okay! At this point I think that Eri is actually Kanako's only female friend, since it looks like all her other friends are guys… and on top of that, she's an upperclassman, and has a cool power! I guess the hero worship here would be really intense. Kind of like a "pls notice me senpai" sort of thing? XD
