You decide to bet it all on the "slim" chance that 1. He is not a cannibal and 2. He isn't looking for a fight coming from a weak and tired young lady. Putting your hand up to signify surrender, the other one squeezing your talisman tightly, you decide to approach him.
Pulling the knife from your bag and slipping it into your sleeve, you struggle to find your balance as you rise. Your voice is sore and you are too dazed to come up with something to say anyway. Hardly understanding the situation at hand, your only focus is to not look like an easy target. You decide to pack up your things in case you need to run, constantly keeping an eye on the trees. Once you have everything together, a wave of uneasiness hits you. Squeezing your talisman for reassurance, you turn to the trees to let whoever, or whatever it is know that you know its there.
Harper patted the shoulder of the flygon next to him. "This is my buddy and childhood friend, Sebek. Along with 4 other fellas, we are exploring this ruins, hoping to find my father at the end of them." Looking around, Harper groaned. " Of course, that is probably not the case, but we may as well explore it anyway. Could be something good at the bottom of it, right Sebek?" Sebek screeched happily, bobbing his head at the rhythm of Ludicolo's dance.
Looking into your bag, you pull out the talisman and string some thread around it to wear it as a necklace. With silent but unyielding faith, you walk along the path ahead of you, never looking back to that city. Despite the growing fear bubbling inside, you feel at peace with the course of events. There was always this subtle feeling that the town and people around you was stunning you from growing to your fullest potential. You walk and when your feet grow tired, you walk some more. You would like to avoid spending your first night outside of town in the middle of nowhere. It would be more comforting to find a city to rest near. Eventually, you find that the odds of that occurring are not too high.
Harper sighed and smiled. "Thanks for that. My name is Harper. What are you doing around these parts?" Sebek was scoping Ludicolo out curiously.
For a brief moment, you consider trying to persuade them out of exhaltment, but you know any promises you could make with them at this point would be empty. You consider this a sign or your first embankment down the path fate has paved for you. With that you decide to comply with as much grace as you can muster. " I understand your concerns. I am sorry have disappointed you. May your days be blessed evermore." With that you grab as many of your belongings that you can put in a rucksack and head out.'

Out to the market area of the city, you can see the city gates and freeze upon realization of something.

You have no idea what in the world you are doing. Perhaps you could persuade someone to join you on your journey? Young adventurers don't really pay too much attention to religion anyway.
Mr.Balinsky found himself slightly amused by this change in routine, but within seconds, things were back to normal. They stayed that way until five minutes before closing when the girl suddenly packed her stuff, rose from her seat, and walked over to Mr.Balinsky. All eyes were on her as she approached him and looked at Balinsky with an expressionless face. "Mr. Barista, I have a request to make.". Balinsky looked at her puzzled. "What may I do for you, mam?" She adjusted her glasses and spoke slowly, as if she was thinking out every word. "There was an accident at my residence earlier today. It left one of my dogs injured and the others in a safer location just for tonight. I feel uncomfortable leaving them alone for tomorrow. Could I bring all my dogs with me to the café? I ensure that they are just as trained and well mannered as this one." Balinsky was still dumbfounded that she could communicate outside of greetings and ordering coffee. "Er...sure. I trust you.". The girl thanked him and went on his way.
Balinsky's chatty companion watched the whole thing unfold and looked around the café. "Where the hell did she come from?" Balinsky was registering the words she had spoken. all of the dogs? "She is a long time customer. She sits in the back booth every day." The boy rubbed his chin. "Every day, huh...actually, all these guys here come every day. Don't we deserve something like a VIP lounge or something? At least a discount?"
Balinksy didn't see the harm in it at the time. Afterall, they deserved it at this point. He kept the idea in mind, unaware that tomorrow would mark the beginning of the worst chain of events mankind has ever known.
You are woken up later on at dawn by early morning commotion going on outside your door. Figuring that someone was coming to wake you up soon anyway, you get up and get dressed. From outside the door, you hear a sense of urgency in everyone's muffled voice usually associated with holiday preparation. Hoping at the bottom of your heart that you are overthinking things, you cautiously open the door and keep your head low. "Good morning sisters. Is everything okay out here?"
Harper listens to the trainer and thinks he can hear him directly above him. "Hey up there! I'm fine. Watch out for traps! I think there is something big at the bottom of this ruins so I'm gunna see if I can find it!." Harper looked to Sebek. "Hey, poke your head through that sandpit and see if you see anyone above us." Sebek nodded and did just so, seeing one of Jake's pokemon.
Harper and Sebek hear the voice of another person echoing through the hall. "Hello? Is there anyone there?" Following the voice, Harper ran into some sinking sand and fell to the lower floor. Before he could hit the ground, Sebek pushed through the hole and grabbed him right before he it the ground. Harper sighed in relief. "I guess its one of those places, huh? I hope the trainer will be okay."
