Welcome everyone to...New Tokyo Empire Wrestling!!!

So basically I had roleplay in mind that revolves around Japanese professional wrestling in a semi-realistic anime style format about a group of post-high school men and women trying to establish themselves in the Japn pro-wrestling scene(think Hajime no Ippo, Kuroko no Basket, etc). Set in Japan and all that but also incorporating some western(WWE/TNA/ROH) influences, cross promotions co-operation opportunities and such. Before that however, our characters have to make a name for ourselves in the indies and develop their skills in rigorous camps.

Anyone who's ever watched japanese wrestling promotion knows that Wrestling in Japan is treated as very much a serious legitimate sport, on par with the likes of professional kickboxing and other full contact sports. New Japan is perhaps the most coveted scene in the wrestling world today and for good reason. The wrestlers of New Japan are like rockstars standing atop the wrestling world. Tanahashi, Okada, Nakamura, Devitt, Omega, Honma all the greats. If you want to be the best you gotta go to Japan.

So anyone interested in lacing up their boots and stepping into the ol' squared circle?

Besuoro Hasashi

Personality: Besouro is an interesting kind of guy. He's named after a legend of Brazil, a hero of Capoeira who defended his countrymen in the 19th century from oppressors. Besouro meaning "beetle", whom he is believed to be a descendant of. He is of Afro brazilian heritage though spent most of his life in and around the prefectural mountains of Hokkaido, known for its hot springs, winter slopes and wilderness. He was taken in by a prominent ninja family and raised in the ways of ninjutsu. He was chosen specifically for his natural aptitude and temperament, which made him a good sparring partner and rival to the first born heir of the Hasashi clan. His personality is somewhat reserved and "ahead" for someone his age, having experienced some amount of loss and living on his own before being adopted by the Hasashi clan, prior to being taken in, he was a bit of a delinquent but showed remarkable wisdom beyond his years, with a little proper discipline and motivation he'd become the "ideal" ninja.

Fighting Style (with this I mean HOW does he fight not WHAT HE USES): In battle Besuro is a marvel to behold, on the surface his style is quite flashy and needlessly showy but there is some substance behind his unorthodox talent. He's nimble, deadly precise and unusually cunning. His reflexes are a notch above and he learns abilities quicker than most. He's a hard worker dedicated to mastering his craft.

Martial Arts: Specializes in Ninjutsu and Capoeira respectively. He's known to throw in a wrestling move or two, as he's a fan of Puroresu.

History: Besuoro is from Brazil originally, the son of an activist and teacher who were slain by unknown assailants in the streets of Rio. For much of his middling years Besuoro was a ward of the streets, getting by however he could. He encountered the head of the Hasashi clan while he was touring central America, lord Hasashi was thoroughly impressed seeing a young Besuoro perform Capoeira in the streets for means, Besuoro was given Japanese currency which he was curious about. The young Besuoro had lifted the foreigners wallet, knowing yen was highly valuable resource. He was accosted by a gang of older teen delinquents who wanted the money for themselves, he fought valiantly against 5 but was ultimately saved by Lord Hasashi who'd been watching the entire dispute. After pardoning the boy, he was given the ultimatum of going back to Japan with Hasashi to study ninjutsu from a real ninja master.

In the years following his arrival to Japan, he was trained in the customs of the ninja arts alongside Hasashi's heir. He was eventually enrolled into Shinjuku academy as the family had ties there and all members of the Hasashi clan had attended previously.

Dreams and Fears: His fears mostly revolve around his own inabilities to connect with other people, his parents were assassinated when he was still young so that left quite an impression, his dream is to start a family. Though he wants to be the top martial artist before accomplishing that.

I'd say my character Besouro is close to the level of a prodigy through extensive training and hardwork, but not on the level of someone like Sho Kano or Berserker, unnaturally so.

I'm not sure about joining but I was impressed with the layout and level of detailed writing put in the opening post. I'm not confident in my writing abilities right now to do a long term high-casual roleplay that requires that kind of investment. I've been in one before, but I like being able to post at a paragraph minimum if necessary. I think I'm most comfortable without restrictions.
