Why does everyone want to know about me?

Eventually, the large colony ship finally made its way down to the specified landing site, and the people rushed out in a frenzy like it was Black Friday, but in reverse as they were dumping all of their supplies in designated plots, followed by construction bots rapidly building their new residences.

The shadow was looking out the window onto the scene below, sipping from a mug of coffee. He was already organizing a grand plan. After the housing was built, factories, plantations and mines would be set up in the surrounding areas. Preliminary scans of the surrounding area proved that the specific site on the planet was loaded with minerals and metals, crucial to the development of the area. As the advisors were filing back into the meeting room, he turned around and looked to them for the progress report.

A new businessman went first. "The economic projections are bright, boss. All is according to schedule, and we will be turning a profit very soon." After the shadow nodded the businessman returned to his seat.
The next person, a scientist and a mage, was brought to his attention. "I have detected evidence of other interdimensional powers that may interfere with our plans. I'm not sure we should proceed with this endeavor, especially if they prove hostile."
The original businessman piped out "I knew we should have sent the armada..."
While the shadow seethed at the insubordination of the original businessman, he waved the magic/scientific advisor's concerns away, and glared at the rest of the advisors, as if daring them to make another comment.
Then a military lieutenant nervously stood to attention. "Sir, the envoys are ready to make contact with the other nations."
The shadow, visibly calming down, spoke for the first time since they landed. "Good, send them on my command. They are adequately packed with goods, correct?"
The lieutenant announced "Yes, of course, sir." He swiftly marched out of the room and barked at nearby aides to get it done.

He then continued with his lecture.
"As I was saying beforehand, once we send our diplomatic envoys and set up a local industry, it is in our best interests to initiate trade with the lesser powers peacefully. In the meantime, we should build up our military defenses, make sure that the other interdimensional powers don't mess with us. Any more questions?"
As the shadow darkly stared into the souls of the advisors, they were cowed enough to not argue any further. After the moment had passed he had returned to his normal self, clapping his hands. "Good! Meeting adjourned."

The advisors all got down on a knee and put both clenched fists above their heads, pointing to the shadow. In unison, they bellowed "Glory to Shupoli!" They proceeded to march out of the room, with the shadow following quickly after, grinning.

Once he had returned to his office, he gave the order to launch the diplomatic and trade envoys. Great, lumbering treasure airships, loaded with manufactured goods, soared toward the other powers, with peaceful intentions but also shielded to protect from danger.
A bunch of people were sitting in a moderately lit meeting room, surrounding a long table. The windows outside revealed the planet they were to colonize.
"Why can't we just send in the galactic armada, annex the planet outright, enslave all the locals and be done with it?" a bored advisor, dressed like a crisp Wall Street investor, suggested.
"Because I desire a challenge," the man in shadow, the next in line to rule, announced. "A baby can conquer a planet with a massive orbital fleet. But I want to play a good old game of empire, to prove that I can still win using only my wits. That's why we will not be receiving any additional resources from outside this solar system once we land." He was making several hand gestures to emphasize the brevity of his statements.
There was a cough from another advisor, wearing the uniform of a general. "So what is this plan you seem to have?"
As the shadow stood up from his chair and started pacing around the table, he brought up a hologram of the planet on the table, with the various indigenous polities highlighted on the globe.
"First, we find a spot to land in. Since we can be easily defeated by the local powers right now, I suggested we land somewhere isolated from the other nations. Around here," he noted, pointing to a spot on the globe.
"Why not just send in the armada-" the first advisor interjected.
"NO! ARMADA!" the shadow roared, slamming his fist on the table. "The colony ship and the trade envoy is plenty enough!"
After the assembled advisors got out of their shock, the shadow continued, as if nothing had happened. "Afterward, we build up a local industry, so that the colony can be self-sufficient. We will send scout drones to locate crucial veins of-"
At this moment an aide, dressed casually, burst into the meeting. The various advisors did not react with shock or indignation at the aide, as there was no dress code. "The colony ship is ready for re-entry," he sheepishly proclaimed.
"Excellent," the shadow replied, clapping his hands. "Gentlemen, I regret to inform you but we will have to postpone this meeting for later. We can't keep the consumers waiting for their new land!"
The various advisors and the shadow filed out of the room, and the alarm was sounded, signifying atmospheric entry.
How the fuck are we supposed to expect ourselves to do anything but be rolled by an inter-dimensional space-faring nation? It seems we might as well give everything up to the giant bullshit machine that just appeared.

Three words: extremely limited resources.

(Also, you may not have noticed but Lanist Khaganate is also a interdimensional nation. Plus I'm not even actually here to conquer anyone for at least a few hundred years IC, but more like the role of the European nations in India pre-British Raj)
Nation Name: Greater Shupoli Imperial Domination, Industries
Nation Flag:
Nation Anthem: Think a combination of Hail to the Chief and the Imperial March.
Map Location: None yet (in orbit)
Description: GSID, Ind., which is not a nation native to the planet (or even this universe), is a corporate stratocracy, meaning that power is divided between a vast megacorporation and a military elite. The enigmatic commander and CEO of the nation is unknown and not even present, but has instead sent their right hand man to colonize and rule. The goal of this empire: to assert economic, cultural and political primacy over the other nations, via trade and then peaceful annexation. Any that resist will be subjugated violently. But why are they here? Well, this particular planet is a new market just begging to be opened, and a spot for fresh recruits- ehm, I mean customers.
Other: If you know what I'm talking about, they annexed the Sol Confederacy a while back, although the DEPT was carried over between regimes. The ideology is a combination between "free" market capitalism and far-right nationalism, meaning national glory and profit is put above all else.
Also I have not sent any invasion fleet. This is a colony ship supported by a few privately owned merchant ships. Which means NO specifically military technology, which needs to be built from the ground up.
I'm Nucleep. I've been on various other places on the internet. If you know me from those places, stop reading. I'll just be repeating info you probably already know.

If you don't know who I am, I've been in places from Sufficient Velocity to Alternate History to Minecraft Forums to NationStates, among others. But enough about that. Let's talk about here!

I'm here to RP, but I'm also interested in lots of other things. But I can be quite forgetful at times with everything on my plate, so if you never hear from me again here, it's normal. I hope I'll have fun here!
