I’ve worked min wage jobs and I’ve done the bare minimum and have still gotten the measly ten cent raises yearly and good references from them. There really is no point, bare minimum gets you by.

Anders simply watched and waited for them to stop talking. When they were finished, he turned to the Erolyte. "So, do we have a verdict? I'm not keen on prolonging this trial more than I have to. It's already been an pain in the ass to simply judge. Then we can all go along our merry way..." He glanced at the royal guards and his own men, who were still both on edge. "So what's it going to be? War with the royals, or war with the church, eh?" Quite honestly, a war would calm his nerves down after this trial... He'd quickly state the verdict and everyone could just go home...
So should Anders say tell me the fucking verdict already?
How many people are you waiting on?
Nah, they just don't give a shit really. Strong or weak demon, they'd tear apart the city if they had to, and resort to old relics from the past. They'd lose a lot of men but... they'd probably win by sheer numbers.

I can scramble a post together now, or you guys will have to wait three hours before I can get homeWhat'll it be?

Well, i posted right now.. So I guess you can.
Anders watched the fight break out, and the beastman stepped in to sort of stop it.

It didn't calm the Praetorians at the trial though, and they unsheathed their weapons, and the battle mage accompanying them started to chant spells. The Templar at the court hearing, of course saw this as a chance to gore the boy out, and a few eagerly came out, waiting for the demon to do anything that would warrant the demon's death. The Praetorians shoved one of the royal guards out of the way, and a war between military and royalty seemed at hand...

But Anders grabbed the arm of one of the royal guard, shaking his head. "Stand down. You have overstepped your boundaries." His fellow Praetorian were also about to make heads roll, but he raised his hand, signaling them to stop. "This boy may be the most gigantic pain in the ass. Yes, he did offer the death penalty for a simple smack to the face. Yes, he offered it for lying as well. It seems he does not understand the laws of this land. He is a demon after all. He's obviously bloody uncivilized. He'd probably call for the death penalty if someone took his bib away from him." A few of the Templar and Praetorian laughed hearing this, but the atmosphere was grim.

He watched as Jason moved towards Ansen. Perhaps it was for the best. "Okay Ansen. I am trusting you with him. But mark my words. If that boy... does anything like this again, may i had, this is the third time... Even your circle with not protect him from the Templar's wrath... Not to mention mine as well. And I have killed many demon before boy. You're pond scum compared to them, so don't get any funny ideas." The Templar, a bit disappointed, still knew the chain of command, and they began leaving the courthouse.

"And you princess... Do not bring your royal guard in here ever again to interfere with the military. I'd hate to see good men die because of a noble's own intentions. I'm sure the King would not agree with this use of the royal guard as well."

Anders spotted the Erolyte, and he walked over to her. "Erolyte. I know your people are indifferent to the affairs of mankind and demons. Tell me.... what do you think should be done to this demon..."

Hey nyte, what if one of the guards tried to stop Jason from getting the food and ended up hitting him? Then Jason disarms them and has the guards pinned, so that your character who thinks Jason can't fight will get his eyes opened

Oh, he knows jason can fight. Just doesn't really respect him that much.
I'll have a post up today.
I posted only because I don't know how long I'll be gone for.
Anders could hear Jason and simply ignored it for the moment. "All this boy has done is whine that he's been dealt an unjustice. No respect for the law. Uncivilized shit mostly. He acts as if we've shown the armies of hell all we have, but we have also prepared for any foreseen setbacks. I think he's just getting desperate. Amusing really, I could have him stand in front of the barracks, and he'd be the best jester we've had in ages. But as you say, it is mostly up to the jurors to see if the templars get their party... This whole trial has been a massive headache. He talks a lot, but you know how those people are. Usually the first to die in battle."

Anders then noticed the beastman's symbol that confirmed what he had said before. "I suppose I will see you later. I've had some experience with the darkness, so I've been invited for the circle meeting. As for the demon, I'm not so sure. If I lean too far on one side, the other will grill me. If I go somewhere in the middle, both sides will probably be mad at me for not being too militant. On one side, there is the Templar-Commander, and on the other, there is the princess. Not sure which one I should be more scared of at the moment."

Anders looked over to the jurors, who were still arguing. "This trial is shorter than a normal one however. The jurors will tell me their decision, and the recess will end and so will the trial in a few moments. It has already wasted precious moments that could be used on more important things. Usually these things would take a few days, but you know how it is in these times."

He extended his hand in goodwill. "Perhaps introductions are in order. I am Anders. Captain of the Preatorian. And you are?"
