Dreyr Tatosian sits with his back to the fire scanning the horizon. The fire accents his tattooed face and shows the fierceness in his eyes as he stares across the miles of uninhabited forest. The night is unimaginably beautiful; the sky is clear and full of stars that one would only see on the ocean, the wind is blowing slightly enough to bring comfort to the skin, but not fierce enough to become an annoyance, and the calm of the scene... that is what truly held the quintessence of the peace he felt. Feelings like this did not come to him often, not since his childhood was taken from him.

He sat aside a mountain looking down into a valley that had a small river running through it. Tall ceders proliferated from every orifice making it impossible to see anything among them, but still he watched. He had gone so far with this person he had met, and he was not about to have it all thrown away by a complacent lack of attention. His quest was too important, and though he would not admit it to himself, so was his new companion.

At the thought of her he could hear her move from the lean-to that they had prepared. Her watch was not for another hour, but one could not blame her for not sleeping on such a wonderful night. Dreyr touched the cutlasses on the ground beside him to make sure they were still there and focused on the noise of his friend moving. He was actually quite relieved that she had awoken, he had grown quite fond of her as of late.
