Personality:Ivan is quiet, mostly because his English isn't very good but also because he's extremely shy. When interacting with others, he seems stiff and unfriendly, speaking in a hushed and hurried voice and stammering. He's very sensitive and is easily made upset, especially when asked about his past or his parents. He'll often go days without ever speaking to anyone. He's reluctant to try new things, preferring to stick with what he knows.
Short Bio: When the virus came to Russia, there was mass panic and the government basically fell to ruins in a matter of months. To escape the chaos, Ivanka and Rudolf Mikhailovich and their six year old son Ivan escaped overseas only to find that the virus was there as well. Ivan grew up living on the streets with his father and mother, learning to shoot and scavenge at a young age. Tragedy first hit when his mother caught the virus. forcing his father to shoot her to keep the infection from spreading. Rudolf Mikhailovich was later summoned back to Russia when a letter from his sister Klara came asking him to help her escape Russia. Though he intended to return for his young son, he became trapped overseas and although he is still alive, his chances of escaping the chaos in Russia yet again are slim. His letters are no longer reaching his son, and Ivan is struggling to survive on his own.

On his way down the stairs, Ivan ran into the custodian. "Aren't you supposed to be in the gym?" Said the man, in a gruff New York accent. He reached out and grabbed little Ivan by the shoulders, leading him down the stairs towards the gym. "Let's go, little man."
Ivan balked, barely processing what was going on at all. "I-I....I vasn't... I only...." He stuttered, fumbling over his words and forgetting his English in his panic. Before he knew it, he was in the gym with the other kids. A hushed giggle ran through the room as some of the other kids started to laugh at him, and he blushed deeply, looking down at the floor.

Ivan watched the other kids play basketball from a window on the second floor. The eight year old sighed heavily, closing the curtains and looking away. Nobody ever wanted to play with him. He could barely understand them, and most of the kids just mocked his Russian accent either way. Besides, he'd never played basketball. It wasn't as much of a big deal in Russia, so he never learned. He coughed quietly, walking downstairs.

Bio: Ivan was born to rich parents in a small town in Russia. He and his four older siblings lived in comfort and were generally a happy family. Ivan attended school a year ahead of where he was supposed to be as his parents believed he was intelligent enough to handle harder work. Then when he was only five years old, his parents and siblings were killed in a fire while he was away at a friends house. He spent the next three years of his life in an orphanage. He's had a hard time learning English, and the other kids pick on him for being so quiet and reserved. He spends most of his time shut in his room, seeming to always be weak and sickly.

Other: Ivan has pretty bad asthma, and is allergic to cats, shellfish and garlic. He spends most of his time drawing.

Slave ship wrecked

Toby followed the group, the small boy moving quickly and quietly so as not to be spotted. He didn't think the slaves would be too keen on him following along. After all, whatever they were doing, having a child along would probably make it harder. That is, it would seem like that to someone who didn't know Toby. The tiny child used to be a pickpocket in the streets before he got arrested and forced into work aboard the ships. He's survived a good year on his own.
Toby was hoping the slaves would be able to lead him back to proper civilization, whether they wanted to or not. He doubted they wanted to stay in the jungle forever.
