First things first.
I am pretty sure, the remote island idea won't work at all. First of all, it defeats the purpose of having a high school romance-ish RP. Secondly, I have enough experience in RP stuff to know that something like that might work for a week or two, if even that long.

Secondly I'm sure superpowers and magic are somewhat same-ish. However, I'm slightly against giving people superpowers, because, well, they are SUPERpowers. It tends to go very, very wrong, you know, with godmodders and all the jazz...
Also, I'm pretty sure, magic AND magical creatures give people already a lot of room for character development.

It strikes me as odd that you would think that a high school themed RP would not be slice-of-lifey. In a way, I really tried to spice things up and to come up with an original idea which would take away the "normality" of high school.
Also, I'm thinking that all our RP should just happen in that club/"secret society". I find RPing classes or lunch or whatever, pretty boring. Of course, if you're, like, a pairing and want to do stuff together, alone, that'd be fine with me.

I do like the idea of CS competition. I always thought the point of CS sheets and the idea of being 'accepted' was too loose, especially in the event that all the characters end up being the same or damned close. It'll give more opportunity to those people who may have initially expressed interest and couldn't post it here fast enough. Plus, people drop like flies in the first few weeks or so, so it'd be good to have back-ups.

CS competition is a "eeeh, why not" for me. But I'd evaluate CS' nevertheless, so, yeah.

Something else here:
Just in case my idea is agreed on by the majority of people here, I will establish a beginning here now, which is not mandatory at all:
Everyone will start off as a normal, ordinary student until something "magical" happens in their life. At the start of the new year, a student (which would be me, then) founds a "Magical Research Society" and you join because you want to know more or something like that.

You can be creative here and have an entirely different approach on how and why you join the society/club.

Well, if you have the basic looks in your head, you could, like, already start drawing. Also, it'll be no problem at all for me to wait a couple of days for you. I like that dedication to a character. ^.^

I'm fine with anything. Although I prefer FxM, but that's just personal preference.
It might turn out pretty fun, if someone has a crush on somebody else, but he\she doesn't swing the same way, if you catch my drift.

I had a lot of exams these days, too, but from now on until sorta like ~20th of June, I'll have a lot more time.

Sure, I'll plan to have 10 people as a maximum for now. Otherwise it gets too messy, so there's one spot left.

Alright, here's an idea that popped up in my head.

Every character is member of the local "Magic research"-club at the high school. The goal of the club is to discover magic and magical creatures, study it and then archive.
Therefore we have 3 main groups in the club. The people who try to detect magical creatures and study them, the people who recreate magic spells and the third group who archive everything. The last group is always in touch with the rest of the members, for obvious reasons. They are also the group for those of you who don't have much time on their hands and can't be active a lot.
Oh, yeah, the archive group can of course go on searches for magical creatures and magic spells with the other groups. Otherwise it'd be boring for those players.
Also, spells might backfire, too, so they need to support each other and here romance can be created.

How does that sound to you?

I'm sorry, I simply don't like darker themes, zombies etc. Neither do I like to roleplay, in my freetime to get away from the world outside, about politics or something.

How about something like a magic adventure thing.
Or they are all members of a certain club at school who goes out and discovers stuff. Like archaeological club, magic club (where they discover real magic and what they can use it for) etc.

Interesting twist, as in, maybe some kind of parallel world where magic exists and they teach the basics at certain schools, like the one our characters are attending to, to study the arts of magic and such?
