For the first time in her life Aurora started crying. Not even at her parent's death had she cried, not even when she had buried them. But now that her values and pride had been utterly destroyed. Quickly before anybody could notice, she put up her hood again to hide her icy pale blue eyes and the silent tears streaming from them.
"But... but that is what my parents taught me...", she whispered quietly.
It was clearly apparent that Aurora valued her parents a lot. At the same time, her mental youth was very visible.
She sniffled a bit and wiped her eyes with her hood still up.
"Just... just show me my room, so that I can deposit what I will not need as well as give you my payment."
@Orior Corrected it in my post, so that she has no idea if she has more toughness against it.
Also you can be quite resistant to radiation, if your body is already adjusted to it. Ask the creatures that live near Chernobyl and now near Fukushima. They don't die, because they have adjusted to the radiation levels in the area, which would be deadly for us and for normal animals, even of the same species.
Quickly Aurora became overwhelmed by the friendliness granted to her by the inn's guest and the inn's owner, but even then, at the unexpectancy of this friendly encounter, she quickly regained her lost composure.

"I thank you very much for your endearing words, but I don't believe I will need company. I have lived on my own for a dozen years and survived in the arctic wastes on my own, I believe I can handle a 'scary dead city' on my own, too. What could be there that I have not yet encountered in my travels? And even if there was a surprise waiting to kill me, I still would not need help from anybody. My parents last words were to not trust anybody not of my species and I will honour their words."

Her voice did neither quiver nor waver and remained cold as she continued speaking facing the other dwarf that had asked her about the connection between her mutations and the Creeping Death.

"Both my parents were infected with the Creeping Death when I was conceived. Apparently I became immune to its effects in my mother's womb, but I developed these mutations at the same time. So, I have been looking like this since birth. However, I am not a lycan, but both the tail and my ears are fully functional. And I do not have two sets of ears. Anyway, my parents died from the Creeping Death, but, although I was so close to them and even drank from my mother's bosom, I did not contract the disease. I do not know if I can not still be infected. I have never tried for obvious reasons."

While she was talking about her parents, her eyes developed a sheen making it seem as if she was staring into the distance.
yeah, sure. I'm gonna get out a post before that, though.
Skyra sat up directly facing Mokuren.
"You are pretty unique, yeah. To be honest, at first I thought of you as a pretty strange girl. I couldn't figure you out, but that was exactly what was intriguing for me. Until now, I was always able to figure people out, just by looking at them, but you're different. When I saw you the first time, I felt the need to explore you, to get to know you because you were different. That's why I even noticed you in the mass of people.
Up to this day, I still don't understand you, but that is okay, we don't know each other very well."

Yawning loudly Skyra stretched herself showing the entire extent of her flexibility and fitness.
"Emotions are something awesome, aren't they? And you never really know what emotion it is exactly. Is it just friendship or is it love, is it just disdain or hate and so on. That's the appeal I feel towards emotions. But at the same time, I try to hide them from others, you know. To not be found out that my perceived bashfulness is not really all that real and stuff. That I might be a lot more girly than I let pass."
She giggled.
"Especially when I'm with you, I feel a lot more girly." A hearty laugh escaped Skyra's lips and she gave a quick hug to Moku again.
"I think we should head back for classes again, shouldn't we?"
Ora, ora~
^.^

Ora sounds so cute xD
such a cute word.
I was under the impression that it was early morning, too. See my first post.
Aurora was a bit shaken up as Alex put her hood back up and patted her. Unexpectedly it felt good to be patted and petted, maybe she finally understood what Luna felt when she petted her.
But her distraction was only short lived as the owner of the inn approached the guests and shooed off Luna from the counter. Of course, being a wild animal, Luna didn't take it very well. Climbing pack up onto Aurora's shoulders, she growled at the owner of the bar as Aurora herself stuttered a bit feeling helpless.

"I am sorry, sir. I did not know. Luna did not mean to dirty your counter. And concerning the cost of the bottle of alcoholic beverage, if the gold is not sufficient enough to cover the cost of the bottle, I am able to pay in furs."
She pointed to the backpack that was leaning on the counter which seemed impossibly big for her to carry it.
"I have high quality furs, such as ice bear furs and arctic wolf furs, as far as I've heard, very rare furs. I gathered them myself so I am able to assure you the fine quality of them. As for the reason for my stay in your abode is that I hope to acquire tools for building houses and tools for building and repairing those tools, so blacksmithing equipment. After over ten summers of migrating and nomadic life, I plan on settling down for a while, although gathering the furs brings a lot of value to my trade."

The hood slipped off again revealing her fox ears once again. This time, though, Aurora did not panic. Instead, she simply took off her long coat revealing long, slim, but trained legs clad in tights topped off with a plaid skirt from under which a white furred fox tail poked out. All clothes were made by herself, of course.

"If you do not mind, I would prefer not to have to cover my mutations up. Nevertheless I have heard that some priests might want to execute me as I am prove of everything wrong with this world. A mutation caused by the Creeping Death... that's what I am. If you still wish to harbour me, I would be honoured. If you do not wish my presence in your establishment, I understand and will follow your judgement immediately", her icy cold voice stated as she had her composure back into her own hands.
Still, her voice seemed a little hostile, although you might never really know, for her icy voice often didn't contain any emotions whatsoever.
I think you might have misunderstood my words as complaining. Just to be clear:
I'm not. :D
I do understand now, tho.
But what are you confused about?

If your character is bringing items for trade, like valuable furs, skins/leathers, and meats, they will gladly house you, because they need those things to clothe their people.

They don't like to buy and sell, they barter.

Yeah, that's what I thought, too. That's why Aurora has a whole backpack full of furs from the far north, so pretty warm furs, with her. She also has a tiny amount of other valuables on her to get, like, drinks and stuff in villages that don't really barter. I was a tad bit confused with all the, like anger, when Aurora clearly has a whole backpack of furs with her. I might have only given the backpack minor attention, yeah.
