Female Warriors of Feudal Japan

Hey, I really am fine with all this. It's a fantasy world with a different timeline. I sort of wanted to remind how it would be in real history. Mostly since I enjoy researching mostly useless facts. :-P
So you probably would't mind me making stuff up, too? In a reasonable way and spectrum, of course. Just to make my character become who I want her to be in this sort of roleplay.

(Also, what a coincidence, I just started watching InuYasha xD)

"Fans, eh? Are you some kind of celebrity?" Hikaru wondered out loud, not directly aimed at Rika, though. To be honest, she was completely clueless about anything like that. She never watched these gossip shows or read those magazines. The only VIP's she may know are some of her favorite mangaka and anime writers, maybe some voice actors/actresses, too.
She shrugged.
"Anyway, if that Hiryuu-san really knows what she's doing, I'll come with you, sure."
A small laughter escaped her mouth.
"Strange how I can seem to communicate with upperclassmen better than with my own classmates..."
Teasingly she stuck out her tongue and giggled a bit.

No offense intended, but I did some research and found out, this RP can't possibly play in 1212. It has to play somewhere in the 1400's, more likely 1450+ and I have some very good reasons for that. (Not all are listed, I could go on and on)

1. Katanas were first made in the era of the Ashikaga Shogunate, more accurately, somewhere around 1400 and 1420.
2. Samurai, before the Sengoku period, which starts with the Ounin war 1467, were the only real warriors in Japan. After that, Samurai became increasingly rare and somewhat of an elite soldier, training for all his life. Normal "soldiers" were the ashigaru, then. Also, before the Sengoku era, you were born a samurai. One couldn't become one in battles.
3. The first Ninjas were trained in the 15th century, so somewhere 1400-1500
4. Most Rounin were nothing but petty bandits before the Sengoku era, when the daimyos suddenly needed excellent warriors.

I hope, I haven't offended you with this and you can see my logic in here. Not that it would really change anything, it'll just make the background reasonable and logical.
(Yes, I am a big, big, big history nerd)

EDIT: By the way, anything until the Meji restauration 1868 is officially called feudal Japan. You could go with an alternative deadline, the start of the Edo period 1603.

Also, I heard the name Hanzo drop in IC. The Hanzo I know was born in1542 and died in 1596. So the RP must be either right before Oda Nobunaga became daimyo or shortly after and before his exploits.

I thought of an more epic intro than fighting demons. She'll stand on top of a hill in front of the group, her yari in one hand, the katana in the other, in full armor with the Oda flag mounted on her back waving in the wind.

Also, they will have to travel through Oda territory on the way to Mt.Fuji, so she might come in handy there.

Personality:
Nagiha is "A rough and unpolished gem" if you go by the words of her general. She often is impolite towards members of her own social class or lower ones and seems to be stubborn, if not even defiant. Her tough attitude is only broken when talking to superiors, where her enormous sense of honor and loyalty makes her submissive.
Still, she can be slightly arrogant and boastful to the point of being annoying even. In battle, she burns with an ardor that impressed even the daimyo. However, getting her to open up, which is not an easy task, since you either have to beat her in a duel or be a very good friend, reveals a soft, even cheerful and gentle person with dreams of a future she wishes to achieve.

History:
Born to a pair of ashigaru fighting for the Oda, Nagiha grew up with the yari in one hand and the katana in the other learning from the beginning on, how to use these weapons. Soon she even surpassed her own parents and at the young age of 14, one general took notice of her abilities. He took her to Owari's best training school.
Soon after being admitted there, a war broke out and every available member of the Oda army had to march to defend. This meant Nagiha as well. A few days later, Nagiha stared at an enemy for the first time as both armies charged each other.
On the next day, she had killed, not only her first enemy, but a lot more of them. But her parents both didn't survive the battle. Breaking down after this, she swore, she'd never lose a battle, no matter the cost.
She carried on with that attitude in mind for a couple more battles until the daimyo, who was serving as the general of her unit at that time, noticed it and took her aside to tell her that he had noticed her effort, however, she'd be worth more to the clan alive then dead. At the end of that meeting, she swore eternal loyalty to the Oda-clan and was honored with the Samurai-title.
Many samurais were skeptical of the daimyo's decision, so Nagiha set out on a mission to prove her worth as a samurai leading her own small troop of ashigaru to countless victories in multiple skirmishes. Even the most skeptical of the daimyo' samurai retainers couldn't hold any skepticism against her now.
However, living a life of battle, she never had any real friends in all her life.

When Nagiha became 18, the daimyo decided to reward her for her loyalty and the honor she brought to the clan, so he made her one of his samurai retainers. Now, he sent her out to support the emperor and show him the loyalty of the Oda. Her current attire was a gift of the daimyo to her for accepting the mission. Her close relationship with the daimyo, who sort of seems to see her as a daughter, is seen with a lot of scepticism to the point where even assassination plots against Nagiha were formed.

Strengths:
-Fast and agile
-Excellent swordswoman and yari-wielder
-For her young age, she is not too shabby of a tactician and strategist

Weakness: (two mental, three physical)
mental:
-If you insult her clan, she'll be thrown into rage
-Her attitude can be very annoying for anybody around

physical:
-she's small, that means, she can't wear the heavy armor or helmets.
-After she rages, whether it may be in battle or out of battle, her body goes into shutdown mode rendering her lazy for a while.
-She's not strong physically. Her strength is just enough to operate well with yari and katana in battle, but not more. This means, she's absolutely lose in a fist fight.

Likes: Winning, being praised by superiors, looking for new ways to employ her weaponry, modifying said weaponry

Dislikes: Her clan being made fun of, losing, people lifting her up and carrying her around, being treated like a kid, being underestimated

Dream: To one day become a member of the Oda-family, in which ever way possible

Fear: Dishonoring her clan and bringing shame to the Oda's name
