Ostarion, the Skeleton King

"Bone is strongest where it's mended."

The victim of a longevity spell that backfired, the Skeleton King Ostarion has built an empire from the bones of his enemies. He lives only to extend his reach, for as long as he is perpetually building and adding to his domain he cannot die. The walls of his palace are formed of fired bone; the streets are paved with bones of every sort of creature and every enemy; and even the wood and other natural features of his land have been swept away and replaced with replicas formed of bone. From the Ivory Forest to Ostarion's towering Throne of Bone, nothing happens in the Empire of Bones without the full knowledge of its Skeleton King.

Taeion'd probably fight. If you can find him and convince him
"My, my." Taeion mumbled. The young ninja stepped to the right to dodge a single fireball - the other had already been way off-target, has their attacks been more accurate, Taeion would have needed to put more effort into dodging. He was surprised at the size of the creatures, although it was to be expected; ExBeasts tended to be bigger than their earthly counterparts. As he expected, some of the rats had fled from the area. He would have to catch those later. Hopefully they wouldn't burn anything else while he dealt with the two braver enemies in front of him. For now, dispatching of them was the priority. It was at that moment that Taeion's attitude shifted. His half-closed eyes fully opened, and his stance changed to that of someone who was about to strike. Pulling out his ninjato, he prepared to attack. "Deft." Taeion said, activating his ability. He dashed towards the duo of mice, aimed for the one on the right, and attacked with the intent to stab the creature brutally.
Taeion followed the smell of burning to one of the larger crates. There was a medium sized, charred hole in it, which had smoke coming out of it profusely, he also thought that he heard some kind of squeak, although that was likely just his imagination. Taeion blinked once, and slowly crawled over to the hole, ensuring that he did not make a sound in case there were truly fire rats in there. He was not very accustomed to fighting such creatures. In fact, he couldn't really recall ever seeing one. He was not too sure of how large they really were, or more importantly - whether they could breathe fire or not. He looked around; maybe he could find a stone to throw into the crate? A few seconds of searching yielded no results. Taeion sighed, digging into his pocket, and pulling out a shuriken. For some reason, he stored a lot of his throwing weapons within his pocket - not a very good idea considering how sharp some of them were. He would end up cutting his hand or something. Still, now was not the time for him to be assessing his storage choices, and he quickly tossed the sharp object through the hole in the crate. At that moment, it occurred to him that if there were in fact fire rats inside of that crate, they would likely scatter. The less likely scenario would be that they would all team up on him and attack at the same time. Both scenarios were fairly bad in their own right. Still, it was slightly too late to simply take a different approach, as the shuriken had already hit the inside of the crate. Clink. Taeion took several steps backward and awaited some sort of reaction.
Taeion nodded slowly towards the dockworker. His task was fairly straightforward: Go to the burned warehouse, and search for footprints. The sooner he did so, the sooner he would be able to find ExBeasts. He stood up and stretched, despite the fact that he had not even been sitting for longer than 3 minutes. It wasn't worth questioning anyway. He began to make his way in the direction of the warehouse, without uttering so much as a single word. When Taeion had reached the burned warehouse, it became clear that these rats posed a serious problem, had the charred walls and feint smoke not already signified this. As he approached the entrance, witnessed debris fall from the ceiling. Pausing for a moment, he decided that it would make more sense for him to travel around the perimeter of the warehouse to look for footprints, rather than going into the warehouse to do so. With that decided, he began to walk around to the back of the warehouse in search of footprints. Hopefully he would be able to locate them soon - he didn't want to have to call the Academy by being too slow.
Within the entrance lobby of the main school building were 5 seats, placed adjacently to one another in a perfect row. They were clearly intended to be used by students to sit on, however, they were being put to other uses by a particularly odd individual. A young male was currently using at least three of these seats as a makeshift bed. Despite this, he wasn't sleeping; he was facing the ceiling, staring at it with a single eye open, and had been doing so for quite some time. This individual was none other than Taeion Kanjuro, recently dubbed "The Indolent Ninja" due to his lax personality, he had been 'waiting' for a good time to look at the holo-board. In reality, Taeion was simply mustering the willpower to stand up and go and look at the holo-board himself. He would have to do it eventually, so why not now? He rolled off of the seats he originally rested on - not even bothering to try and prevent his minor fall that followed, and stood up as if nothing had happened. He walked over to holo-board to take a look at the current jobs available. From what he could see, many of the ExBeast hunting jobs were few for the moment. It made sense, some new students were confident in their abilities, and were eager to try fighting the creatures they hated so. Taeion was not very fond of assignments which did not involve combat in some way, although it seemed as though he would have to pick one. At that moment, a he noticed a Special Assignment which did involve ExBeasts. Clearing out a nest of Fire Rats. It was a D Rank job which was seemed fairly straightforward. Taeion pressed the Assignment in an attempt to accept it. He was still not entirely sure as to how it worked. He then walked through the central hall. Entering one of the many teleportation rooms. He paused for a moment, trying to recall the coordinates he was supposed to put into the the holo-board. He entered the coordinates, albeit slowly, in order to prevent any...undesirable repercussions. Finalizing his entry, he sat down on the teleportation pad, awaiting to be transported to his destination.
Thanks. Will not disappoint.
Name: "Indolent Ninja" Taeion Kanjuro Age: 16 Gender: Male Themesong: N/A Class: 'Disabler' Shade Rank: While his rank remains at a solid B, his combat level fluctuates from A to B, based on whether or not he is 'active.' Appearance:
History: Born as a only child into a family of martial artists, Taeion's fate had been decided very early in his life. His family ran a dojo which taught an assortment of different fighting styles. His parents were well aware of the threat of ExBeasts, but already held a deep dislike for the newly found 'Magi' of the world, they believed that martial arts would be just as useful - if not better. They decided that training their child in a fighting style would prove to be useful against fighting ExBeasts, more so than Magi themselves. However, they did not want to try to teach Taeion how to fight at too early of an age, as it would be difficult, and near-useless. Instead, they waited until he was at a suitable age to be trained in the arts of - of all things, Ninjutsu. Until that time came however, Taeion was free to do as he pleased, which was to simply rest, and do non-strenuous tasks. By the time he had reach the 'training age' of eight, his already la nature had been ingrained into his personality, and he constantly tried to refuse training, and simply rested around the house. This was a short-lived rebellious phase. His father was a man of discipline, and would not take Taeion's refusal whatsoever. Naturally, he did what any caring father would do, and would strike Taeion whenever he showed a hint of laziness when training. Taeion can vividly recall his time training as times where he would find himself hurled into walls, kicked through windows, and thrown through ceilings. Through intense training, discipline and beating, Taeion had learned many of the principles of Ninjutsu already. Including, but not limited to - unarmed combat, concealment, stealth and blade techniques. It was an outlandish fighting style, but at the same time effective in the eyes of his parents. Their views on magic extended to their teaching, and Taeion also learned many techniques which were developed specifically to be used against magic. He had become extremely disciplined when it came to combat, although this new-found focus only extended to combat, which he would approach with a deadly seriousness and concentration. Everything else was subject to his lax attitude and sometimes snarky remarks, much to the dismay of his mother. His father didn't really mind. He was a martial artist, not a counsellor. Further down the line, Taeion's combat ability raised the idea of enrolling him into the Academy for Magic, Martial and Other arts. Which was decided fairly quickly. The AcadeMMO has served him well so far in some ways. He is able to apply his fighting style against ExBeasts, as they tended to use magical abilities, something which Taeion was taught to be accustomed to, and something which he was taught to counter. He frequently takes jobs which involve hunting ExBeasts due to the fact that he is able to do them alone, and has risen through the ranks quite quickly as a result. At the same time, he can sometimes proves to be quite the liability if he is given a task which isn't fighting, as he treats it like he would treat anything else: Lazily. He tends to drift from group to group because of this. Statistics: Taeion's combat style revolves around disabling an enemy in multiple ways before brutally attacking them. He aims to strike various body parts in ways that leave an enemy paralysed or unable to cast spells. Like most Shades, Taeion is meant to be inclined towards sneaking up on the enemy, but Taeion's lax disposition gets in the way of this, and he is often found lying down in plain sight. However, when he deems a situation worthy, he immediately gets up and attacks with brutal intent. Taeion is open to using various different weapons in order to fight an enemy, he may use a Tantō or Ninjato to make cuts at an enemy, but may soon switch to using shurikens if the enemy attempts to retreat.

I'll join up in Loguetown. Just gotta figure out how.
From what I've posted IC already, I'm not sure whether I'm able to say my character is in the crew already (someone else may want to look that over - I dunno myself). But at the same time, I feel that it would be difficult to recruit him IC simply because of the way he acts. He'd probably need to do something significant enough to be noticed and invited.
**Den Grimsly, Loguetown** From across the counter, a tired shopkeeper stared at a purple-haired boy as he browsed through all of the wares on display. A shop selling - of all things - guns and ammunition, had recently opened in Loguetown, and it had yet to pick up in popularity. This shopkeeper in particular had been here all day, adamant that someone would be interested in buying something. He had been there all day, and was falling asleep from boredom until someone had finally entered the building. Grimsly was the first 'customer' to actually take a step into the shop so far, and he was not a normal one either. The shopkeeper was expecting pirate customers; customers which would be aggressive, loud and would likely have a large amount of gold and beli to spend. However, Grimsly was the complete opposite of this. Since entering the store, he had said nothing at all, and from the looks of things, he had no beli at all. The store was filled with a seemingly forced silence, while Grimsly simply stared at one of the rifles which was on the wall. The shopkeeper had no reason to allow somebody who wasn't buying anything to take up space in his shop. He opened one of his eyes and spoke. "Hey, if you're not going to buy anyth-" Before he even needed to finish his sentence, Grimsly had already left the now-slightly-less-quiet building without uttering a word. Up until now, the shopkeeper hadn't been paying too much attention to Grimsly's appearance, but looking at his back, it was extremely clear that he had...wings? Impossible, the shopkeeper thought. Maybe he was a Devil Fruit user? --- Now outside of the store, Grimsly was free to continue exploring the town. It was the first earth-town he had been to, and to him it did not seem too different from his time on Skypiea. He brought his attention to a nearby bar, as he could hear an ungodly amount of cheering. Was drinking exciting? He didn't know, although his curiosity got the better of him. He approached the place, standing at the doorway and attempting to see what was causing the cheering.
