Optional Information – House Kaldur has ruled the Nothern Jarldom of Perhyr for hundreds of years, ever since the first Noririan people crossed the Sea of Echoes in the First Age. The land was a quiet and unimportant area, and rarely had any influence or indeed interest in outside affairs, other than the expansion into the Rift and The Grey Islands. This period ended with the war against Kristof the Zealot, in the Second Age. The war was long and bloody, with the Noririans fighting for every fort and field. Despite being far less populated than other regions in Orlandis, Perhyr (and Skavia) managed to force back the invaders, and House Kaldur was secured as rulers of Perhyr.

Members of House Kaldur can be noted by their black hair, blue eyes, and large stature. They are respected and beloved by their subjects, as loyalty is considered a vital attribute in the harsh Northlands. House Kaldur's words, Light against the Darkness, refers to both the role of House Kaldur as defense against Vyntic raids, and also the metaphoric light against the darkness of the soul.

Jarl Torak Kaldur

Name Torak Kaldur, Jarl of Perhyr.
Age 52
Appearance Torak is tall and wide, 6'6" with shoulders of an ox. He has a beard and his long hair is braided with small amber beads. His hair was black, but is steadily turning salt-and-pepper grey. His eyes are a startling blue, like chips of ice. Torak is heavily muscled. His clothes are typically wool dyed black or grey and trimmed with fur or occasionally leather. He also has a large cloak made of wolf pelts with his House sigil embroidered on the back. Slung over his back is a large mythrite sword, the ancestral Kaldur blade 'Soul Eater'. When in battle he wears a set of grey armour.

Blackhearts | Pokemon

Alexandra Telemos, as much as she hated to admit it, was hopelessly lost. She had been full of confidence when she had arrived the previous day, crossing through a crossroads called Vert Plaza, and had gone directly to the gym in the centre of the city. But it had been late, and she had decided to find a hotel and challenge the gym in the morning. But when she tried to find her way back to the Vert Plaza, she had ended up on a magenta one instead. Thinking she had made a wrong turn, she tried to cut through the streets to where she thought Vert Plaza was, but ended up on Bleu Plaza, and when she tried to head back to the gym, she ended up at a hair salon instead. It was all very frustrating and embarrassing, as Alex considered herself an expert on finding her way. Finally, she asked a stranger for directions, and was told there was a hotel at the end of Hibernal Avenue. She had purchased a map of the city, only to find it was a map of Laverre City. So it was almost midnight that Alex finally found her way to a hotel. Exhausted, she purchased a small room and went to bed.

Upon entering her room, Alex released Ender, her Charmander. She thought about releasing her Ponyta Firenze also, but decided that the room was too small for the large fire horse, and her mane might set the curtains alight. Alex undressed, climbed into bed, and fell asleep almost immediately, with Ender curled up at the foot of the bed with his tail held up to protect the bedsheets.

Personality: Like her pokemon, Alex is fiery. She doesn't tolerate people who annoy her, and is not afraid to make this clear. She doesn't shy away from making a biting comment if she thinks it is necessary which, in her opinion, it usually is. She is the first to make a sarcastic remark, and can have a tendency to take jokes too far. Despite this, Alex is a positive person, and is usually bright and happy. She is quick to anger, but is fiercely loyal to her friends. She is very competitive, and can suffer from jealousy.
History: Alex was born the youngest of a large fairly wealthy family, and only daughter. Her father was a prominent expert on grass- and bug- type pokemon, and Alex's brothers all followed in his footsteps. Alex, however, did not enjoy gardening and didn't like bugs, so much to her father's annoyance, Alex did not try and catch a grass type like her brothers had. When Alex was sixteen, her mother brought home a mysterious egg that a friend gave her. When Alex asked to hatch it and raise it, her father consented, but only if it was a grass- or bug- type. When it hatched to reveal a charmander, her father told her to give it away. Alex refused, and ran away from home in order to protect the fire-lizard, whom she named Ender.

Two years down the line, Alex is still on the road. Ender has grown strong, and a ponyta named Firenze has joined the team. Alex likes fire types, as they match both her hair and her personality. She is determined to raise only fire types, and become the strongest fire-type master ever.
Other: Alex was born in Saffron City, Kanto, and this journey to Kalos is her first time out of the region.

Respectable air force: Yes.
Military capabilities: The military doctrine of the Union of Britain puts great emphasis on naval superiority in home waters as well as providing escorts for commerce vessels which are the lifeline of the island nations. The army has a secondary role as the air force and the navy are thought to have a higher priority.

Army
The British Army is a mix of standing army units, home defense garrisons and local militias which provide a mobile reserve for the home defense garrisons. The standing army is rather small, but the manpower pool of Britain is great and a great number of divisions can be raised in a relatively short time should the need arise.

Navy
Despite the loss of many ships of the Royal Navy as the monarchists left for Canada, the Republican Navy is still one of the greatest navies of the world and one of the few navies of the world that employ aircraft carriers. The Republican Navy is the sole navy in Europe that can hope to take on the Kaiserliche Marine at sea. The Republican Navy, which is self-governing and largely self-financing, controls not only maritime defence, customs and the merchant marine, but also has a huge influence over shipbuilding, trade and foreign policy.

Air Force
The Republican Air Force is mainly tasked to defend the British airspace and not so much on fighting an aerial war in enemy skies. Still, the RAF does employ a significant number of strategic bombers under the RAF Strategic Bomber Command should the need arise to take the war to the enemy.

History: After the defeat of France the United Kingdom's war with Germany dragged on inconclusively for two years. In 1921 the stalemate was finally broken when Lloyd-George agreed to General Ludendorf's proposal for a "Peace with Honour". Under the terms of this treaty it was agreed that Britain would acknowledge Germany's gains from the war, whilst Germany would respect the Imperial possessions of the remaining Entente powers of Britain, Japan and Portugal. However, while Britain's overseas territories remained largely ordered and intact, the faith and support of the people in the Home Islands did not.

In 1925, disaster struck: a minor labour dispute in the coalfields of South Wales quickly escalated after troops were sent in to restore order. Following the French's example, a General Strike was called by the TUC to cripple the economy. When the government sent orders for the military to quell the unrest, many troops deserted to the side of the strikers, which was accompanied by a major naval mutiny. After six weeks of rioting, looting, and pamphleteering on a massive scale, the Royal Family was evacuated to Canada, followed by most of the country's leading politicians and large property owners.

Following the fall of the British government, a provisional government of revolutionary groups dissolved both Houses of Parliament, and declared that political authority in the "Union of Britain" would pass to a new Congress of Trade Unions.

Following the revolution, 1926 saw the formative Congresses of Socialist Britain, with advocates of various positions coming together to hammer out the framework of the new state. What resulted was a compromise between the factions that enshrined the principals of decentralization, co-operativism, and isolationism. This resulted in the establishment of locally elected councils as the main organ of government (supervised by the national direction of the CTU), a dominant public sector, and a diplomatic stance that emphasized self-defense and national self-reliance above all else.

The British people are currently secure on their island, content to build socialism in political and economic isolation, protected by the strong Republican Air Force and Navy. Additionally, each county is protected by its own popular militia who act both as a reserve military and the police.

Under section 2.3 Stats, the fine for negative points is 50Ӻ, but under section 3.5 Using Stats, it's 20Ӻ. I'm guessing it's 50Ӻ?
