Yes. It started a fad in the late nineties-early 2000's, called soaping, which was basically grinding on rails and doing tricks with the shoes. Soaps went dormant and got bought out by Heelys I believe. They incorporated the grinding function into their wheel shoes, but it either didn't work out, or I haven't heard much of it.
