Your post length was fine and your post wonderful, Kei! Don't doubt yourself c: <3 I'm gonna throw up some small scene posts for Rose and Estelle :) Looking forward to how all those scenes develop, and to Kathi's post too!

I think Rex needs some motivational music. I think we all do. It's only Tuesday ;A;

Academy of the Arts - Northern Section

Marcus felt the wind get knocked out of his stomach as a hand suddenly grabbed him in mid jump, driving him to the ground and kicking him harshly again in the same spot. The presence of a shadowy figure lurched on top of him and pushed something closed over his nose and mouth- a rag with a powerful chemical agent designed to send the victim to unconsciousness. With the precise manner in which his attacker had drove much of Marcus’ breath away from him already, it would take only seconds for the rest of the agent to drive a normal man into unconscious oblivion.

But Marcus wasn’t a normal man.

His body reacted instantaneously, almost by itself. Energy flared and warped around him, and much to Jay’s frightful disbelief, a powerful gust of wind gripped him from his feet, flipping him up as a surge of wind pushed him backwards, spinning backwards into the air with a scream. What the heck?!

Dalia’s own eyes widened at the surprising scene before her- the aura flying in the air, spinning and awash with a great many blurring colours. There could have been no doubt… this was the culprit! “There!” Dalia shouted with her finger pointed. Simon’s camera turned, and the beam of light from it illuminated Jay’s body. The thief was already turning in midair, his practiced litheness making him ready to hit the ground running, and move to a more advantageous position. He still didn’t know how that man was able to resist, unless he was a lot more powerful then he first assumed… had he bitten off more then he could chew? Himself, alone, against six of them? These guys weren’t like those priests and priestesses… these were professionals. Guilders?

Jay’s body elegantly hit the ground in a crouch, his legs springing him forwards to run and escape by hiding amongst the rows of seats again…

…but he didn’t get far before smashing his head against a cold bar of steel and stumbling backwards and onto his rear. A low groan of pain mumbled from his lips.

“You did it, Dylan!” Aria exclaimed as she looked upon her team’s handiwork. The light from Simon’s camera illuminated Jay in all of his splendour, trapped within a large steel cage drawn and constructed into reality by the sketching Matter Artist. Jay was pinned and trapped on all six sides, unable to escape, with the rest of the group quickly regrouping towards him.

“This… isn’t the Masked Phantom…” Dylan frowned, looking at the strange attired man. “Who are you?” Dylan asked, keeping a wary distance from the man. Jay was now their prisoner, and he meant to get some answers from him.

“Cough… cough…” Further down the row of seats, Marcus unsteadily rose to his feet, clutching onto one of the chairs. He stared daggers in Jay’s direction.
The Academy of the Arts - Western Section

“Good work, Mattis.”

With their focus completely absorbed on their opponent within the room, the same, one who had sneaked up on them and taken Syed out before any of them could realise it, neither Moira nor Angel expected or anticipated that they could be interrupted by another opponent…

The windows all shattered at once, glass raining down over the swearing Moira and disbelieving Angel, as a shadowy figure’s silhouette stood illuminated in the moonlight behind, the locks of his hair fluttering. His mouth opening revealed teeth glistening a pearl white smile.

The glass didn’t stay scattered across the ground for long. Before Moira or Angel could react, they all shot up into the air, and began instantly spinning around Moira, too fast and haphazardly for her to predict. More and more lurched into the air, becoming one with the dizzying vortex. Individual pieces began flying out it, nicking her body at intervals all over where the armor didn’t protect and drawing sharp, shallow cuts across her skin, before becoming a part of the bladed vortex again – the glass spinning faster and faster, too quickly to keep up with or attempt escape. From outside of the dome, Angel was left free, but it was impossible for him to move in and help Moira… without being shredded to pieces.

And at the same time, it gave Mattis the perfect opportunity to strike.

Best of luck with your midterm today! I'm positive you'll nail it, believe in yourself! :) And the best of luck with the rest of your busy week (essay, eep!) and that of next week too! *powerhugs*

Rex actually reminds me of something that I'm not sure I mentioned earlier. With how busy Rex is the next two weeks, we've tentatively planned it so that this chapter lasts that much longer up until around the 4th of August~ (which I think, IC context wise is pretty fair, too), so Rex isn't completely overwhelmed with real life and able to have fun and do justice to her co-gm chapter, which I can tell you guys, from knowing what she has planned, it's absolutely amazing and you'll all LOVE it. 8D
I'm gonna start writing a post for scenes within the Theatre Group whilst Kei updates her scenes. :> I'm going to be introducing some things that change the dynamics of the fights a bit. The fights have been good so far, but I think some of them have gotten into the groove of a stalemate with everyone having their characters wait to see what the other person's will do next. Which is fine and makes sense in the context of the story, but makes any actual forward progression... kinda nonexistent.

Saying that though I actually foresaw this and encouraged it a little with MP's destruction of the lights. I just wanted to see how you guys would react and if you'd give me a particular setup, which you all did. This allows me to be evil~

Hiya Frosty!

Thank you for your interest, but unfortunately Tales is closed for the time being and for the foreseeable future. Really sorry, but again thanks for your interest and the best of luck with your rping endeaours!

“Amy! Lucien! The thief we, er, reported, it’s actually… er…” Estelle began to rapidly explain as best as she could within the darkness that had engulfed them, when suddenly reports of what was happening around the Academy blared out for them. Marcus’ group had caught up to Dalia and Aria, and his explanation made it evident for all that what Estelle’s group had found was not the Masked Phantom. And then… then chaos.

“What the fuck is going on?!” Tobias yelled after Moira and Rose both exclaimed to have been ambushed by the Masked Phantom. The problem being, both women were in completely separate groups and locations. This… was making no sense. Was there… was there more then one of him?

"Errr, so um, should I summon the bear again and have him sniff around the place?" Lucien asked his friends from the periphery of light Amy’s gem cast about them, looking between the two women and Tobias with the same confusion as they shared. But before either Estelle or Amy could begin to reply, Tobias was already screaming and shouting for him.

“No!” The Patron yelled. “You do not summon that ghastly creature ever again!” His hands wiped over his clothes with a disgusted grimace at the bear’s saliva that coated him. His eyes were affixed to Lucien’s with fierce intensity and anger. “What the hell was that? You… you summon some wild beast like that, in an Academy like this, and you can’t… you can’t control it?! Are you and idiot?!”

“Tobias,” Estelle began to speak, hoping to calm him down. “Look, it was a mistake, you don’t’-”

“Mistake? No, no this is far more serious then a mistake! What is wrong with your entire group?! Because of you all we’ve gotten completely removed from where we supposed to be thanks to your blunder, and I almost got my head ripped and chewed off by this idiotic comedian!” Tobias’s scream grew even louder. “Amateurs! Just… just rank amateurs, I swear to Aislin…!”

Before Tobias could conclude his scathing speech, Lucien was assaulted by a mysterious figure that withdrew into the darkness as quickly as its gloved hands appeared. Lucien was attacked swiftly, and propelled into Tobias in the same fluid motion, crashing into him and sending them both sprawling down to the ground, and out of Amy’s source of light. Both Estelle and Amy looked in absolute disbelief. Hands reached down and fingers snaked across the hilt of her sword, unsheathing it in one fluid swipe and activating the fireblade’s ignited flame. The light provided from it was insignificant within the perimeter of Amy’s own glowing light, but if the two were to separate their sight of their surroundings would grow- and in Estelle’s case it also obviously served as a capable offensive weapon.

“Lucien! Tobias! Are you okay?!” Estelle shouted out, already assuming a defensive stance and glancing over her surroundings rapidly, trying to find any signs of their attacker. She looked to Amy, teeth clenched, her expression communicating everything.

The Masked Phantom?

"Quick! We can't let him get away this time!"

“You’re damn right we can’t!” Dylan quickly raced to follow after, with Xandra, Dalia and Simon following quickly behind. Marcus hesitated behind over for a few seconds, concentrating on his magical incantation to supply himself and all of his friends a fresh burst of enhanced agility. All within their groups found their speed increase, and the ability to pursue this mysterious stranger easier then before. And yet, their ominous adversary was still lithe of foot and able to keep away, until he ducked into one of the theatre rooms. But, with Dalia and her ability to perceive peoples’ auras, it would make finding their target relatively easy. Even if she couldn’t see auras through solid objects, making the performance hall and its rows upon rows of chairs a prime opportunity to hide depending on the angle, it would only be a matter of time before he was caught.

“Give up!” She screamed.

“That’s right!” Her brother added behind. “You’re under arrest, Masked Phantom! Save us all the time and effort and give up quietly!!”

“Y-y-yeah!” Simon also added, fumbling with the buttons atop his camera to activate its light. A small beam projected outwards from it, offering a small array of light. Barely enough to properly illuminate the room at all, but it worked as a handy enough flashlight.

“Be careful, everyone.” Marcus coolly addressed his teammates as he walked in from behind, turning to lock the door. His eyes scanned the rest of the room. It was swallowed in darkness, but he could roughly recall what the room looked like from the performance they had witnessed in yesterday… remembering where the other exits were.

If they could trap the Masked Phantom within the room…

“I’m going to lock the other doors. We’ll trap him in here… he won’t get away.”

A waft of emerald light glowed across his body before vanishing, the wind mage imbuing his body with greater speed and agility. He jumped forwards, bounding atop the seats towards the room’s other exits.
Interest Checks aren't only a means of testing the waters for an rp concept, they're also incredibly great advertising opportunities. Even with them started, I'd recommend setting up an interest check as well.
Holas everyone!! Hope you're all doing well! Good luck on your midterm and essays this week, Rex. If you need to miss a day of posting or anything, then that's totally okay, yeah? And good luck to Riley again ;~;

I hope your trip back to Beijing was fun, Kathi. :> Will you be going back to Canada before you go to the USA or no?

I've not caught up on today's IC yet, but I wanted to compliment you all on the fantastic job you've done with your scenes and your thief characters. I loved how Miffy took down Syed in one hit, the trouble Fabian's already causing and Trixie's reaction to him as well as Angel's neat and cool powerset. I love Frances' character, personality and voice (you've done a fucking amazing job, Kei) and I also love Jay's adoration for the ladies because, who can blame him, women are awesome. <3

Keep on doing what you guys all do best, everyone. I can't wait to catch up on today's ICs. Not sure when I might get a post up today, I've got a doctor's appointment soon. ^^;

Hopefully everyone has a smooth and enjoyable enough week. <3

In Eyo! 12 yrs ago Forum: Introduce Yourself
Hello there Treble, and welcome to the forum!

The forum can be a bit daunting at first, but it's actually a lot simpler then you might think. Roleplays are typically divided into a number of categories. The most popular and active group rps are divided into three sections, Free, Casual and Advanced, which differ based on expected writing requirements of players, with descriptions for them all on the front page. You also have the Arena for combat focused rps, Nation and Tabletop for those particular types of rps, and 1x1s as well, which I think you might be interested in.

Traditionally, it's best to start looking for an rp in the Interest Check subforums. These are where aspiring GMs post an rp concept and idea aiming to garner interest from people who might be willing to join their rp, before they create a fully fledged RP in the main section. RPs typically start off with the OOC, where all RP and world information is given and where RPers can apply with a character. After being accepted and given the GM's permission, they're free to post in the IC itself. There's a bit more to RPing, but these are the general basics. If you take a look around you'll be able to see how it's done.

This Guide here goes into more depth, and the Site Rules are a recommended read too. To be honest, both of these topics should really be stickied in the Introduction Section as well in my opinion.

Clocks are a wonderful thing.
