Honestly, the site needs to get toned up a bit, like everyone else here has already mentioned. Whilst it's perfectly understandable how busy Mahz is and how difficult and time consuming the coding of a site from scratch is, the current site is still a massive far cry from what it used to be, and it looks it. It's of course absolutely functional but it could be a lot better, couldn't it? More of the features that Aki has listed should really become a priority in being implemented sometime. A friend's list, simple clickable buttons to activate bolding and italics etc without having to manually type the whole code out, editing/deleting posts and PMs, a report button etcetc should be updated sometime, surely?
Holy shit, Houston we have a post!!

I first of all want to apologise to everyone for the excessive delay in posting there and keeping everyone waiting @.@ But I also want to thank you all for your diligent patience and understanding. You have no idea how much that means to both me and Rex, a lot. I'm hoping we're able to post a bit more consistently from now on, but there might be a few more delays occuring here and there depending on circumstances. Last week had been incredibly busy, almost nonstop, from first meeting Rex to then meeting and having fun with Buns (who still owes me a pizza) to then having a day chilling out in London and looking at their zoo, and all the wild and interesting animals that they had there (I SAW GIRAFFES AND PENGUINS OMF).

The day after (Thursday) we went to Legoland 8D and had a whole bunch of fun there. Buns, you know in the Legoshop we had a look at some of their architecture models? Me and Rex bought one and we'll be building that a little bit later. c| (I also bought Rex this, pfft). Rex also took me to one of the nearby RAF bases, which is a joint airforce base ran by both the US and UK. Because her mum works for the navy, it means we were allowed to go on base and have a look around (trying to get cheaper tickets but alas you had to make an appointment) and it was surprisingly interesting to go around their supermarket and see how it was filled with american goods. I spent a few hours in America, lol.

And then yesterday we went back to London to look at and explore Big Ben, the Houses of Parliament, Westminster Abbey, St. Pauls Cathedral and, er... M&M World. Plus, SHOPPING. SHOPPING SHOPPING SHOPPING!! It was a lot of fun!

Today's mostly a relaxation day, so we'll hopefully be able to get a post up for Rex's character's too, whether it's by me writing for her or something. :) Later on today I'm gonna cook her dinner and take her to the cinema and arcade again! ^o^ Last time we went and saw Sin City 2, not sure what we might see today. But the arcade's a lot of fun too. There was a multiplayer arcade Pac-man game and Pac-man air hockey game which made me go apeshit. It was awesome.

Tomorrow I'll be introducing her to my dad and step-mum (no pressure!) and next week we'll likely go to London again on Monday and then from Tuesday to Friday we'll be flying out to Paris. :) I wanted to take her to Greece but the prices to do so proved to be a bit too much - I'd rather save the money to fly out to America and stay with her next year. Paris though is a lot cheaper, and should be a lot of fun. I've never been before. XD We'll definitely hit up the Eiffel Tower and Disneyland and MORE SHOPPING!!

After that Rex is still with me for another week but I go back to work on the Monday ;~; *cue intense sobbing*

So we might be a little bit busy again over the coming week, but it should be a bit better with regards to posting. And the week after that should be a lot better posting wise too, since again, I'm back at work and we can't do *that* much more travelling, but we'll try and see what we might do. Again, there's always more and more SHOPPING...

How has everyone else been this last week? I hope you've all had a fantastic week (and again I apologise for the inactivity). Fox, Kei, Kathi, I hope school and college have been going okay and really nicely? And I hope you've had no problems? Especially you, Kathi, I hope you've settled into college life well? Buns, I hope last week has been pretty easy work wise too (hahaha easy work ;_;) and I hope you enjoy your three day weekend, you've deserved it. :)

I love you all guys!!! <3

Phillis Circus

Estelle didn’t even register Aria’s question, instead still transfixed with embarrassment the things that Aria had mentioned to her before that, and the couple she had seen frenetically kissing on top of one of the ferris wheel’s supports, of all places. Being alone here at night… under the stars… with Marcus… she… she…

“Er, Estelle, are you okay?” Aria asked, tapping the redhead’s shoulder and bringing her coursing straight back to reality. Estelle’s body leapt up with a shrill shriek and she spun on the spot, still aflush with embarrassment as she looked at Aria and then did her frantic best to avoid eye contact.

“I’m, er, good! Great, even! Ah, yeah, er, hmm… what were you saying?”

Another playful smile adorned Aria’s lips, but she didn’t press the tease any further. As fun as coming on the ferris wheel and seeing Estelle squirm in such an adorable fashion no doubt was, they had a mission to fulfil, and they couldn’t forget about that, no matter what other distractions laid in wait for them.

“I said, do you see anywhere you want to investigate?” Aria chuckled. Estelle’s eyes blinked with realisation and purpose, and she finally remember what it was they were supposed to be doing.

“Oh, oh, yeah, you’re right. Hmm.” Estelle peered out of the carriage’s windows, surveying the circus grounds below. Upon Aria’s mentioning of it again, she could indeed see Trixie, Lute and Lucien entering a big tent labelled with a gigantic, flamboyant sign as “Horror Train”. And across the way, Estelle was almost positive she could see Moira, Syed, Xandra and Eric walking towards a funhouse? In fact, Estelle was absolutely certain of it. No one could mistake the bombastic sound of Moira’s voice.

Estelle flashed a quick glance in the direction of the smooching couple from before. She grimaced as she did so, knowing she’d regret it as soon as she saw them, but then her eyes widened in bewilderment to see that neither one were there anymore, both having vanished completely. That was strange.

Estelle shrugged, and looked back down at the grounds below. The rest of the group were taking on the two biggest tents, aside from the large Big Top in the centre of the grounds. There were smaller tents dotted about the place for smaller, individual act demonstrations, but if anything smelt suspicious to Estelle… it was the big top. That tent was absolutely huge, designed to house and seat an audience in the hundreds, as well as the wide ring ground where the performances were held. That was the next most suspicious looking location to her.

“The Big Top.” Estelle said, nodding towards it. “I think we should go explore that.”

“The Fun House, huh?” Eric idly scratched his chin as he followed his companions in the direction of it. Eric had watched with an absentminded silence at the trio’s adventures before, his thoughts affixed to his niece, and the wealth of concern he had for her surged back with greater gusto as they came up to the jubilantly jolly fun house before them. “Me and my niece went on it yesterday,” Eric said. “She absolutely loved it. I think it was one of her favourite attractions.”

“Her favourite, huh?” Syed replied, “Do you think she might have gone back in to play again, then?” It was the hopeful, optimistic guess, although deep in his gut Syed had to wonder. Things couldn’t possibly be so simple, but it could also be a possibility that she simply got lost in the maze, right? …right?
Rex and Pach: BUNS WTF 8DDDDDDDDDDDDDDDD
Took Rex to the zoo today in London. :) She flipped out over all of the rats and bugs and insects and lizards and... literally flipped her shit out of petting a sheep and seeing pigs.

Not even kidding you all, lol.

We got a lot of nice photos of all these wonderful animals, and Rex will upload it all sometime later, which we should definitely share for this rp. >8D Got a photo Fox would love ^o^

Kathi this is you! >8D

They'll die eventually, one by one. Whenever I see a 'dark' or 'gritty' story, that involves extremely fallible characters, with limited resources and experience, in a situation far above and beyond their capacity to resolve alone... And somehow... Not a single one dies. Not one. It could be six nonathletic, unremarkable, ordinary people, in the zombie apocalypse, surrounded by thousands of zombies, but no matter how insane the odds, they somehow, always, survive. This murders my immersion faster than a hamster in a meat grinder. It completely kills any suspense or concern I'd have for my characters in that situation. If Jimmy Junior is dumb enough to go melee a few zombies alone with nothing but his trusty baseball bat Stevie, then Jimmy Junior should just straight die. The GM should just kill Jimmy Junior if the player doesn't do it themselves. Otherwise, danger is meaningless, and the plot, no matter how violence and excessive, becomes boring and flaccid as a result.I'm not advocating that every story needs to contain gratuitous amounts of death and carnage... But any story that contains survival elements should at least have people, you know, survive from time to time.

I agree with this, but I also want to mention that on the flipside, in my personal opinion I'm done with stories/rps with gratutious levels of death and carnage. When it's done to an excess, it actually becomes meaningless and trite, and extremely difficult to care for any characters when the possible likelihood is that they'll just die. Shows like The Walking Dead and Game of Thrones are actually the worst offenders of this for me. Death isn't shocking. All they seek to do is try and make said death as shocking and gorey and over the top as they can, and again it doesn't elicit any reaction from me other then an eyeroll. Whilst I wouldn't like to see an rp where all the characters survive, considering what the stakes involved entail, I would actually rather have that then ridiculous pointless and over the top murderthons.
Hey everyone, I hope you're doing okay! 8D Rex is here now. ^_^ We might endeavour to get a post up today either through collab talking and me typing or... not. We'll see, but we'll definitely try to have one up tomorrow morning or so. Just... so so so so happy omf

Phillis Circus

Estelle and Aria walked towards the ferris wheel, the swords-sanless-woman enjoying the pink and fluffy cotton candy treat that Aria had purchased for her with much gusto, clutching on to her cheeks and shaking her head from side to side with a blissful murmur as she chewed it, swallowing and then sighing with a happy indulgence. She would definitely have to pay Aria back for this sometime later when she got more money from Marcus, and treat her to something equally delicious too. As dubious and dangerous as the circus could potentially be, and the seriousness of the current mission she and the rest of the Pride were on, she couldn’t deny that at the same time… she was having fun.

Should she be allowed to feel this way…? She didn’t know. She just had to keep reminding herself over and over again not to get too carried away, and forget about why they had come. People were missing. Lady’s son and Eric’s niece were missing. Wherever they were, they had to find them. And the ferris wheel, on top of offering a wonderful view of the circus grounds, could definitely help them do that.

"Have you ever rode in one of these, Estelle?" Aria grinned down at Estelle, as the two walked onto one of the wheel’s empty carriages, the door held open by a smiling attendant and then closed shut with a lock. As the pair sat down in opposite seats, looking at each other and outside the windows, Aria’s smile grew slightly devious. "I wish Marcus had come along. I've heard these can be very romantic, especially at night."

Estelle’s cheeks, filled to burst with cotton candy, suddenly became lodged in her throat, the hapless girl choking from Aria’s sudden comment. Her hands and body wretched and shot out wildly from side to side, as she struggled to eventually swallow it whole with a loud gasp.

“M-M-MARCUS? ROMANTIC?” Estelle sputtered with wide blinking eyes. “Wh-wh-wh-wh-what do you mean by that?”

Her cheeks grew bright crimson, and Estelle had to avoid Aria’s eye contact by looking out through the windows as the rotating wheel continued to ascend their carriage.

“How… how is this romantic?” Estelle asked with confusion. “I mean, stars can be pretty nice to look at, but… how are ferris wheels romantic?”

Then, Estelle’s body suddenly bolted upright in shock, recoiling with surprise. Aria, who had been watching Estelle during this time with a delighted smile, followed the swordswoman’s gaze outside, and her reaction mimicked Estelle’s in the exact same way. Although they had been talking about ferris wheel romances, neither of them had expected the aptness of finding two people sitting on one of the ferris wheel’s massive supports, one of them a man with long, messy blonde hair and goggles draped around his neck, the other a girl decked in the exact same matching black garb as Sammie the gatekeeper, to be kissing on top of it. They just stared silently as their carriage rotated up, around, and past them.

“Er… ah… er…” Steam blew out of Estelle’s ears, and she collapsed back into her seat.
Except that getting every player available for a collabing session on a daily basis for an rp with daily posting wouldn't work for my rp whatsoever, and would actually slow down the amount of interaction and plot development that could be done by a massive factor. With players from all across the world in different timezones, something like that wouldn't be feasible other then like something on the weekend, and even then the amount that could be done and written within a timeframe like that as opposed to individual posting across the week would be minimal.

It's different strokes for different folks. It can work for some rps and not for others and isn't automatically better (or worse). I personally dislike it.
