Phillis Circus: Rear Restricted Entrance of the Big Top

What were they doing?

Estelle could only watch with gritted teeth and disbelief at how Aria and Lucien had carefreely wandered away from them, straight towards Syed and under the watchful eyes of two of the circus’ members whom had been in conversation with the electromage. Against all belief, it seemed as if the pair had forgotten that they had just been traipsing through a restricted area, and that indeed the location they were within right now was still restricted and not open for the public to be walking through. It was fortunate for the illusionist and summoner that the two stiltmen didn’t seem to be as dangerously bothered by it as she was sure that the cold man they had seen before would be… but even then they had been playing with fire. They could have just as likely gotten thrown out of the circus entirely. And maybe, potentially, still could.

Estelle shook her head. The way towards joining that group was entirely blocked with one of the two stiltmen conversing with the others. It’s partner had stomped off with multiple clanks to go around the side of the large Big Top, to disappear from view. Peeking her head out, meerkat style, to look around in all direction, Estelle made doubly certain that the coast was clear of any other circus performers, before darting towards the next closest tent, holding Trixie’s hand inside her own.

"That was close," Trixie had whispered to Estelle. "What do we do now?"

“We get out of here,” Was Estelle's reply. As they quickly dashed across the open space, in full sight of Syed, Aria and Lucien ahead of them (but thankfully with the stiltman’s back towards them), they skidded behind cover of the next nearest tent, to take another moment to breathe and make sure no one else was about. Estelle had planned a path that would take them from diminutive tent to diminutive tent, until they could reach the fenced perimeter and climb over. It would take some time, but it was the smartest way out of here.

Slowly but surely, from tent to tent and other stacked pieces of equipment and crates, Estelle and Trixie reached the fence. Pressing her back to the fence, Estelle cupped her hands out in front of her waist, providing a step for Trixie to jump onto and be boosted up and over the top. As soon as she did, Estelle gripped onto the metal bars of the fence and began to quickly hoist herself up, working off adrenaline to clear the top as well as she could. She was no natural climber like Lisette had been, but Estelle had spent much of her youth climbing things that she shouldn’t have to have developed a partial affinity to it. Fortunately, once done, the coast now seemed clear, although they were now a fair distance away from the rest of the Pride, and tired to boot. Their entire stealthy infiltration of the Big Top had taken its toll, and Estelle exhaled heavily.

“Phew…” She collapsed onto the ground, leaning back with her hands to support herself up.

“You okay, Super Sis?” Trixie asked, sitting down with her legs crossed facing her.

“Yeah, just… phew… that was a close one…” Estelle smiled back at the smaller girl, and then drew quiet. Her eyes flicked to the massive, colourful tent they had came from, and her smile faded.

“Er…” Trixie began to frown. “Are you sure you’re okay, Super Sis?”

“Do you trust him, Trixie?” Estelle asked, glancing to her friend. Trixie tilted her head to the side in confusion. Him?

“You mean the cap guy?” She asked.

“Yeah. I mean… he said some things but… who knows if he’s telling the truth?” Estelle frowned. “I don’t know if you had any better luck, but I’ve not seen any of the missing people we came looking for so far… and I don’t remember his face being on one of the posters.”

“Ah… maybe?” Trixie frowned again, puffing her cheeks in thought and tilting her head to the other side. She couldn’t really remember what the faces on the missing posters were, though.

“I mean… this circus is weird alright, but so is he. I’m not sure if he’s actually telling the truth or not. Not to mention…” Estelle frowned heavily, pushing herself off the ground. “His grand plan is to set things on fire in a crowd filled stage. That’s both crazy and dangerous. And again… I’ve still not seen any definitive proof that these guys are up to anything. They’re weird, sure, but… I’ve seen a lot of people before that are weird. We could even be considered weird, couldn’t we?”

“I… guess?” Trixie pondered Estelle’s words some more, actually smiling as she hopped to her feet as well how Estelle was actually considering this and giving it some thought. Leave it to Super Sis to know what to do! “So what do we do?”

“I’m not sure,” Estelle shook her head, a large grimace crossing her features. Trixie's own enthusiasm began to deflate. Estelle started to walk back towards where they had seen the others, this time on the safe side of the Big Top’s perimeter fence, with Trixie following at her side. “I don’t entirely trust that weirdo, but he doesn’t give us any choice, does he? We’re going to have to go to that performance if only to make sure nobody gets hurt. But regardless of whether he’s telling the truth or lying… I’m going to smack the crap out of him!”
I thought your post was perfect, Rex!

I'm going to start writing a post for Estelle right now!

Annnnd posted! I ended up borrowing the use of Trixie a little bit, Rex, I apologise! If there's anything you'd like me to edit or ammend, hit me up on fb and let me know!

I quite like the dubious and difficult situation the cast are in right now, and the inability to know whether or not what they're doing is right or wrong. Makes for some very good and heavy character motivation and dilemna. I think regardless of what happens, Crispin's probably gonna end up castrated - either by Sammie or Estelle. Lolololol :P
Holas everyone! I hope everyone's having a spectacular day!

Rex, have lots of fun at your concert! I'm super jealous of you for getting to go see it and wish I was able to as well! >:0 I used to be a massive fan of LP and 30StM. Should be good! I just hope the heat isn't unbearable and doesn't kill you D:

Buns, I'm glad your internet's back! Internet loss is the worst. It's the most annoying and frustrating thing in the world >:0 Have fun catching up on everything!

I'm going to wait for Kathi to post before I update Estelle (and Lucien)'s scene. But I've been absolutely loving everything everyone has done! Crispin is absolutely delightful and I love his dialogue so much, you've done a fantastic job with him, K. :) And seeing Syed geek out over the Stiltmen was hilarious. And Lute... poor, poor Lute. XD

Have a good day, everyone!

Phillis Circus: Fortune Teller's Tent

Elisa’s eyes widened in horror as she studied the card laid upon the table with great intensity. Her lips twitching, she looked back up, to the confused and startled Lute, and pursed her lips as she concentrated deeply on the meaning of the cards presented. She solemnly shook her head.

“What?” Lute asked, his brow furrowing with concern. “What is it?”

“I… I…” Elisa stammered, trying to find the right words. She knew, ever since her premonition of this moment earlier that morning, that this would be an important, momentous, life changing moment… for this man, and for her, but the cards that Lute had drawn were not at all what she might have anticipated. A combination of cards like this… the implications of this meant…

“Lute.” A voice emerged from the entrance to the Fortune Teller’s tent. Silohuetted against the light outside, her prosthetic arm holding open the curtained door, was Xandra, looking in with a slight, brief curiosity at the furnishings of the room, before quickly refocusing her attention back onto Lute, remembering the importance of their mission; their need to find this score of missing people and, currently, finding Eric. “Did you have any luck? Is Eric here?”

“Eric? Oh, well… no, I don’t think he is, but… I’m kind of in the middle of something here, and…” Lute began to reply, and Xandra drew her eyes down to the table, and the deck of cards resting atop beside the three drawn picture cards. Another quick look at the woman opposite Lute, and the outfit in which she was garbed in, drew a quick scrunch up of Xandra’s nose, before she stepped forward and gripped Lute’s hand, dragging him up to his feet. She didn’t believe in superstitious fortune tellings.

“I’m sorry, Lute, but we don’t have time for this. Maybe later you could continue this, but we need to find Eric, and regroup with the others.”

“But… but…!”

“That might be for the best…” Elisa retreated from her chair, her hands already reshuffling the cards into the deck. She was now walking further away from the two Guilders, shielding herself as best she could as she cautiously looked towards them from beneath her lowered veil. “I’m sorry, Lute. So very, truly sorry. I wish you luck. You’ll need it.”

“N-need it?”

“Keep your eyes and ears alert at all time, and be careful. The future is bleak, but not set in stone. You will be trialled, and face great, future uncertainty… but it might not be the end. Farewell, Lute.” Elisa parted one of the curtains at the end of the Fortune’s Teller tent and vanished, leaving behind a very confused virtuoso and metallurgist.
Annnnd my other scenes updated! The Stiltman's a creation of Rex's, and he's pretty cool. Kei should probably recognise what it's from as well, huehuehue

They're pretty small, minor scene developments, but I hope it gives everyone something to work with. :)

Annnnd music!

Phillis Circus: Approaching the Fortune Teller's Tent

“You said you saw Eric go in there?” Xandra asked, following after the others as they quickly moved to escape the restricted section of tents as fast as they could. With the noise they had made inside, the look from one of the circus’ employees and the disappearance of their new companion Eric, a hasty retreat was in demand. The further they could get from the scene of the crime in which they had ruined that bizarre shrine to their friend Amy, and the quicker they could find the easily distracted Eric, the better. Syed managed to spot a man matching Eric’s appearance enter a nearby tent, and it was that which they dashed towards first, with Lute taking the lead and sprinting slightly ahead of them, entering the tent first whilst the others ran to catch up.

But then all three of them came to a screeching halt as something big and powerful crashed into the ground before them. Xandra, Syed and Moira all jumped back in startled surprise, Moira sharing another expletive as they did, their eyes slowly trailing up, up, and up at the strange curiosity that had interrupted them.

Standing on long, spindly sleek and black mechanical limbs was a man dressed in a black and grey bodysuit, an almost completely smooth black helmet with visor obscuring their face. A red glowing bead of light moved from the centre of the man’s visor, moving slowly in turn over Moira, Syed and Xandra, the man beneath silently considering all three, as the image they witnessed projected on the inside of their visor zoomed in closer and closer, to such depth, precision and clarity it could even register the sweat dripping down Moira’s face.

Finally, after a time, and still saying absolutely nothing, the man on stilts continued to walk on, its legs stomping on the ground one after another as it resumed its particular duties.

“That…” Xandra exhaled suddenly. “…was different. What was that?”

Phillis Circus: Big Top

“This whole place is full of whackos, yeah? Hey hey, maybe I should use one of my summons and go join her teaparty!” A small snicker escaped Lucien’s lips as he and the others discovered the peculiar teaparty occurring in the room on the other side of the partitioned curtain. Fortunately he was quiet enough that the woman inside, absorbed as she was in her fantasy world, didn’t notice. Moreso when Estelle shot her hand out around his mouth and pulled the mumbling man away with a quick shh!

“Don’t forget, we’re trying not to be caught!” Estelle grimaced when they got further away from Guinevere’s room. After a quick scan of their nearby surroundings and feeling confident that there was no one else around, she breathed a heavy sigh of relief.

Her eyes turned back in the direction where they came from, and the ominous room they had witnessed. The strange, regal and beautiful older woman who had to be in her mid thirties at the least, playing and hosting a tea party for a bevy of stuffed toys… she didn’t know what to make of it. Estelle absolutely adored and loved stuffed animals, and would probably happily do the same thing as the woman if she had the chance even now, but there was something very disturbing about doing it at the woman’s age… and something else as well. Something Estelle couldn’t put her finger on. What was it?

"Are you sure you know where you're going?" Aria asked after they, following Crispin’s lead, began to quickly check rapidly opened and closed curtains one after the other to little avail.

The youth in the baseball cap waved his hand back at Aria, flashing a confident and determined grin, insistent he knew what he was doing, but Estelle couldn’t be quite so sure he did. “Sure, sure, I know, just give me a sec, yeah?”

Following the comments from earlier, Estelle had remembered Crispin as their chef from Los Paraisos, but that just filled her with even more confusion. Why would a chef at a fancy and ritzy island as Los Paraisos be here, at a circus like this?

“So what was your plan?” Estelle asked, focusing once more on the situation. “You got cut off, earlier.”

Like I said before, if you want to be a part of a consistent rp with good pacing and activity, the only way you can really guarantee this occuring is to GM one yourself and strive to achieve those ideals. It's exactly what I'm doing with my rp and what it's succeeding at. I was the same as you once, bitterly dissapointed at the inconsistency and poor survival rates of rps and the all too frequent abandoning of rps by players (and GMs especially) that I decided to just run one myself and make sure I'd do everything to make it a success, consistent posting being the main factor. It'd be nice if we could rely on more people who choose to GM rps be more consistent and reliable, but the sad case is that they're not. But if you desperately want an rp like that, and strive to achieve it through making one yourself, then it'd also be a benefit to the community to have another GM who's dedicated to do that. Go for it!
Holas everyone! A short post for one scene up so far! I'll be working on and adding up the others later today. :)

Kei, with Elisa you're more then welcome to use her in any way you see fit for your next post, if you choose to. I've given you the opportunity here, if you want it, to do a bit of ~ominous foreshadowing~ with Lute and set up any hints for future things you might want to do with the character. :) Or we can talk and discuss things, maybe work on a collab for that, or avoid it altogether if that's what you might prefer. Whatever takes your fancy is more then fine with me. :)

I'll be working on scenes for Estelle (and Lucien) in the Big Top and also something for Xandra to help Buns out with later today. :)
Phillis Circus: Fortune Teller's Tent

The woman inside the fortune teller’s tent slowly turned, her body shifting to face Lute’s direction, the face beneath the light blue veil betraying little thought or emotion as she simply faced the flustered and flailing man. Normally, a person would have been shocked to see someone burst into their room and be taken by surprise, demanding to know who they were and what it was they were after. But not this woman.

The reason being, she had already seen this happen before.

“Welcome,” The woman began, her voice lilting with warmth and surety. “My name is Elisa.”

The woman turned again, showing her back to Lute as her hands continued with the operation she was performing before his sudden entry. Lifting up a teapot, she poured the hot liquid into two cups, and finished her preparations. As she delicately placed the pot back down again, she carried the two cups on a tray and sat herself back down at her table located in the centre of the room, placing one cup on a saucer in front of the empty chair opposite her, and taking the other for herself. After slowly lifting her veil up off her face, she sipped on the warm tea, and smiled at the taste.

“Well, Lute,” The woman began, her hand motioning to the empty chair. “Sit. Drink. We can talk about your friend… and your future.
