And the same thing could be said for anime or any other rp. Different strokes for different folks.

If you want a superhero rp, or if anyone in general wanted any particular type of rp... make one. Don't be scared or hesitant to do so; just make one. And you'd be able to craft it however you want to fit your taste. There's nothing stopping you.

The only way for a mod to move this is if you ask one directly by using the help section. Otherwise they'll never see this. So either you go ask them or just move and let this little thing fade away in the depths of the forgotten.

Whilst there's a 1x1 section, considering the fact that threads can't be moved at this time and how massively it doesn't really matter whether or not this is in the 1x1 section or here, I think it could just be left alone. What harm is it causing? There's no need to come invading another thread multiple times insisting for it to do something.
RPG back up yays

How is everyone? Hopefully these Guild issues aren't that often and that we can get back into the swing of things. Just to be on the safe side, I'll pm you my facebook/skype details Rapid in case the Guild goes down again. It does it... pretty often, and it'd be nice to stay in contact it does it again.

How's everyone's day been? Mine has been... excessively wet. I hope everyone else's has been better!

Halloween's in a couple of days. Does anyone have any plans, be it costume dressing, trick or treating, partying, or scary film watching? If anyone has any scary music, you should share it! >8D

This song isn't strictly horror, but it might scare a few people 8D

Cuttersbury: Trail towards Drych Lake

Estelle’s brow twitched in irritation, her temple almost fit to burst, first from Jett’s relentlessly annoying question and then from the sudden tremor that surrounded her, a tremor that saved the hapless rookie from a punch in the face and one that almost dislodged Estelle from her feet and onto her rear. She managed to catch herself and stop that from happening in time, but her frustration only began to magnify greater and greater once the Varren in question made their appearance.

“What… what on Ddaear are they wearing?” Estelle asked, her face taut in a deadpan expression. The Varren, decked in stylish clothing made of printed tshirts, vests, jeans and jackets, all did a little spinning twirl and pose, before setting out to attack them. Some plunged back into the burrowed earth to attack from underground, as others charged atop in a two pronged attack.

“Those things they’re wearing…” Estelle backtracked, unsheathing her fireblade and readying it in front of her as she stepped close to Marcus, whose eyes were knitted closed in concentration, his robes glowing a magical emerald glow as he focused on delivering an agility enhancing spell to each of his allies. “They’re not what I think they are, are they?”

“Hahaha,” Marcus laughed. “You know what he always used to say. ‘The clothes make the man’, or something like that.”

“This is ridiculous,” Estelle sighed. She then jumped backwards in the air at the second the ground beneath her feet popped open, two Varren claws shooting up from the ground, but the rest of the Varren remaining hidden below. As Estelle’s feet skidded on the ground, she smiled to Marcus, telling him thanks for the spell, and returned her focus to the attacking Varren. “Oh no, I’m not falling for that same trick aga-!”

To Estelle’s surprise, another pair of Varren claws popped up and grabbed her ankles. Estelle’s cheeks grew red.
Your post came through, Aki! Sorry to hear about the internet troubles, they're the bane of my existence D8

Good luck with your exams, Kei :)

How's the property case going, Rapid?
Ignoring the double post, you've said that like 3/4 times now.
So many nonposts...

And to expand on what Buns' has mentioned so far with regards to underdogs and even higher ranked characters struggling against opponents of equal or lesser ranking (which I totally agree with), I want to specifically mention the three newbie H ranks will have a particularly hard time against Varren alone. Ranks are not the sole basis and determinator of strength, since a Guilders' rank is made up of a number of different factors, but they're a good qualifier in the sense that, if an opponent is a higher rank then your character, you are most definitely going to have a hard time. So working together and looking for help from others is a good way to proceed with battles, although by all means have your characters attempt to battle and fight alone, just so long as they're not effortlessly defeating an enemy and getting injured in the process for it, that's okay and adds to the drama.

What's most important to me is what makes good story, and characters effortlessly overcoming obstacles is not good story, it's boring.
Well this is a bit of an elitist mindset.

Honestly, there's room for both types of roleplaying to exist. For some people, they may indeed be more interested in collaborative writing and storytelling where they're focusing on making their rp the best story and creative writing they can be. And for some people, they may just be interested in the escapism that comes with roleplaying a character in a setting as if it was a tabletop game or rpg and having fun seeing what comes of the rp from that.

Both are perfectly fine.

As Innue said, I can't see a single player as someone who deserves to be blamed for killing a roleplay through bad writing. If such an issue was to crop up where the majority of players or its GM felt that a player was not contributing enough to the rp in the way that they'd like, or in a way that is not what the GM intended, then it's up to the GM to resolve that issue (politely, of course). And that resolution comes through communication and discussion, where 'offending' players could then grow to understand the issues and learn what is neccessary for the GM's intentions in order to fit in and prosper within the rp, or if perhaps need be, amicably leave if there's that much of a clash of interest between players. If an rp was to fall and die because of a single player then the GM is simply not doing their job correctly at all.
I'm a believer is a classic song, and xkcd are some great comics. I've not read it in years, but those samples there are amazing Aki, lmfao.

I've put up a quick (and somewhat hopefully amusing post) to bridge the time it'd take for the Pride to reach their destination and possibly make Buns' next set up post a bit easier, I dunno. Haha. Also, Ryver, this should help make it a bit easier to calm Jett down a bit by having him be tired/exhausted/etc.

I also think I've found my new favourite band. Seriously. What better ballad have you ever heard then this? I want NEED a bearded character now.

Heck I need a beard FULLSTOP.

Cuttersbury: Trail towards Drych Lake

The Pride’s walk towards the Drych Lake was mostly uneventful with the exception of small talk amongst the Guilders. The trek towards the lake would take nearly two hours for a normal person to complete whilst walking at an even pace, allowing the group plenty of time to converse and get to know each other, such as Estelle showing Nani her fireblade and Marcus demonstrating for Quentin’s interest a small display of wind magic. Whilst it was possible for the Pride to arrive at the scene of their mission much quicker, the risk of fatigue was enough to hold them back – being too tired to fight against the Varren infestation could lead to more complications then good. Marcus still helped to passively manipulate and boost his allies’ agility (and thus their walking speed) up however, to make the trip take half its usual time instead. They would be well and ready to tackle the monsters when they arrived… so long as they could survive the time taken to walk there.

And surviving was easier said then done…

“Are we there yet?” Asked an overenthusiastic rookie Guilder.

“No.” Replied the dull, deadpan tone of a certain young red haired swordswoman.

“Are we there yet?” Asked the overenthusiastic rookie Guilder again.

"No."

"Are we there yet?"

“NO!” Shouted Estelle again.

“Are we there ye-”

“Say it one more time and I’ll smack you!”

“Sqwark! Are we there yet?”

“Oh Captain, not you too…”

“Wait, so does that mean we’re there yet?” Asked the overenthusiastic rookie Guilder again.

“Argh!”

Even with a two hour trek being cut in half, an hour's walk could still be a long, long time...
