Well this looks interesting, color me interested.
@The Roman07

9 is not some "samurai dungbeetle from outer space". #offended
@Absolute Grace

I would say make an authority figure for your town but don't go too much into it. Say that they brought you up as a suggestion and Neptune accepted you. Maybe later on in the RP we could visit Reef Crest and have that person be helpful and/or harmful.
@IVIasterjay

The only problem I see is the stinger tentacles. Those would be flopping around and sting the shit out of whoever you were hitching a ride from. Other than that they would a seperate race.

Merpeople are fish. Carcharians are sharks. Deep ones are octopuses.

I assume Lord 9 the samurai dungbeetle from outer space would prove usefull in the whole raiding supplies plan

How dare you sir.
Hmm, who is going to need a temporary emotional wreck as a defender/party member?

I wasn't really planning on have one of them in the roleplay, anyway. The quest is in the ocean, right? A freshwater species wouldn't live long in the ocean. Bull sharks last a while in the rivers, but they can't go on long quests. I just wanted some side characters and stuff.

Ah, that clears things up then. Well now I look like a goof, anyway they can be in the RP or something. I'll have to work a way for them to be in but as I said I liked them.

So if someone was making a mer-jelly character, should they stop?

I would advise against it unless you can make a good way for it to travel with the party quickly.

Well....There isn't one. They're based entirely on the myths, with just a tiny bit of science an shit mixed in. They're more like a confederation, except with no central government. I suppose they could have a council, but nothing more than that. There's no modern government with them.

Well then it looks like there is a counsel. The only reason I'm doing this is because we need a person(s) of authority to advocate each person. If someone were to just show up to the meeting and say "You guys should take me on this quest because I'm really good." That ain't really going to fly with the others. So yeah, if you can make up like a counsel or even a person of authority that would be great.
This will be your guide on your journey.
