I keep coming back here very so often, as if it would make my wanting to return any better. I don't know why that would be. I would just disappear again and regret it again, I'm sure.

I'm just... really in a bad time. I feel awful. I'm don't think I have the strength of will to show my face here again after letting everyone down.

I don't know man. I always find gondamn-esque/Japanese Mechs kinda over the top. Don't get me wrong, I'm a big fan of the anime franchise but maaaan Western Mechs gotta have more attention.

Um... Is this directed at my suggestion? The Assaults Suits series actually fits the bill of Western mecha pretty well, if you ask me. It sizes up mechs to be six-story tall humanoid Assault Suits with relatively plain designs, when compared to the outrageous sizes and adornments of Japanese mecha.

It also has jetpacks, space battles, and fighting plenty a share of ships and machines that can end up being far larger than your Assault Suit, so that's plenty fun, too.
I'd be down for this. Human vs. human is good, human vs. monsters works too (I haven't had too much experience in the latter beyond Pacific Rim).

If anyone knows about the Assault Suits Leynos/Valkien series, I'd definitely be up for that style and premise.
I'm still around.
Sazh looked once more, still waiting a few moments. It looked like at least MOST of the conflict going on was dispersed (perhaps not all entirely by Sazh's hand), aside from that cynical girl who was laughing at some other lady off to the side. Wait, now that woman next to the flaming person was flying, too? No, focus. You came here to tell things, so tell the things.

"Okay, if we're all mostly settled down..." Sazh spoke out, before beginning to speak with intent, yet caution. "For starters, this whole world you are in right now is a sort of... mash-up, of parts of many other worlds. Now, all of us here, along with some others, have each been taken from your respective places by the-... God-like being who created this place, called the Viewer."

Sazh paused for a moment, before continuing on, "Bear with me here... the Viewer has brought us here to take part in 21 different trials, over 21 days. Whoever completes all of these trials, gets to make any one wish, exactly as you imagine it. But, whether you want to compete or not, you'll be stuck here until the span of all the trials is completed." Sazh stopped again for several seconds, judging everyone's reactions, and then tacked on, "Yeah, I know it might sound ridiculous, but that's how I heard it! Either way, we're all kinda trapped here, so..."

Sazh scratched his head. Now what-? Oh, right, the city and the hotel and all that. "And, uh, we've got a big city over there, with a neat-lookin' hotel and all that. We've got, like, uh, 3 hours before the trials begin, so if you wanna rest up or prepare anything, now would be the time! Oh, and whatever you do, don't die. Dying is really bad." Hopefully that covered everything, despite how hasty it was.
Yyyyyyeah. That.
Are you saying you're not satisfied with Tag-Team Immortal Lesbians?

Also, I'll try and get a post out 4 hours from now. I have to go to some group shindig for a while today.
The response from Lorne granted Benead a look somewhere between a sneer and a confused gesture. Who was he to declare what was and wasn't possible? Hell, the entire prospect of 'jump systems' back where Benead came from relied on the use of specific alternate dimensions. Either way, it was rather obvious that Lorne wasn't believing a lick of what Benead was claiming, yet was still insisting they could form a treaty, as if they thought the Jotunheim was still from their timeline.

While the Commander found himself responding to the sudden "DRADIS" alerts, Benead motioned to cut the channel. However human they were, those people were just a bit too firm on their beliefs.

"Send another transmission to the Andromeda," Benead ordered to Communications. "Tell them the matter with the Battlestar has been concluded, and that we may proceed with the agreed-upon shuttle plan." The transmission was sent as such, without delay, and Benead himself sent another message to the hangar, telling that when the shuttle was prepared than they could leave on the Captain's mark.

"Sir, we have another unknown vessel sending a broadcast message," McKellen reported once more, getting the Captain's attention. Benead sighed, leaning his head on a hand in true disgruntlement. This situation was already scrambled enough as it was, and now there were yet more ships revealing themselves. Was this going to stop anytime soon?

"Relay it."

"I am Jedi Master Obi-Wan Kenobi, I am afraid to say you have arrived in a time of conflict. After a war that ravaged the galaxy, followers of the Dark Side of the Force have seized control of the Republic and reformed it into the Galactic Empire."

James raised somewhat back to attention at this. From the sound of it, this ship and its inhabitants were actually local to this space. Benead resolved himself again; if they were willing to share what was going on here, then perhaps they may be able to determine how they got here, and even how they might get back to whence they came.

"We have sensed the good in most of you, and seek your help. With your assistance, we feel we could free the Galaxy before it is ever enslaved. We invite you aboard our vessel, and are willing to transmit any navigational data or historical data you desire."

Benead nodded ruefully. Of course, they would want help with whatever major problem they had. The fact that they would still trust absolute strangers to help them in a time of dire need still spoke volumes about the condition of their side. It still stood, however, that the promise and success of aiding these individuals in reclaiming their world could allow them to determine a way to return each ship here to their own worlds safely. After all, it must be perfectly apparent to these people that most of the ships gathered here were not of this locality.

He told Communications to send a transmission asking for known mappings of the current galaxy. If they really were still in the Milky Way, they would find out soon enough.
Just waiting for a response from the Battlestar, then I guess Flamelord and I will trade shuttles and have a tour or something.

Oh yeah, I also need to write off all the small Bydo-craft to disappear arbitrarily.
As if the day could not get any more weird. There was some sort of... beaver-like thing making a huge wave of water, a teenage-looking figure with an intricate sword (who looked VERY confused), the flaming girl from earlier standing a little over a complaining maiden, some sort of old martial artist who was desperately trying to shrug away from a cat (who itself was being nudged aside by some bipedal cow), and to top it off, that cynical girl from earlier was flying in some sort of costume with jets and cannons over her shoulders and WHAT THE HELL WAS GOING ON!?

Sazh was snapped out of his stupor by Asphyxious addressing him, suggesting that the l'Cie may be slightly better equipped to handle this kind of thing than the lich was. Over one of the thoughts in the back of his head that wanted to say 'I told you so', Sazh simply nodded hastily and rushed out into the clearing. No time to waste.

"Woah, now, hold up, everybody," Sazh shouted out, waving his arms to obtain attention from the group. "Now let's all just slooow down, before we end up doing something real nasty. Just... stop what you're doing, and relax. You're gonna wanna hear what I have to say next, alright?" If he could diffuse the situation and get everyone calmed and listening, then that would be as fantastic. Unfortunately, it was as desired to Sazh as much as it was unlikely. Still, nothing was going to change for the better if he didn't at least take a shot.
In case you are all wondering how my guys seem to know exactly what's going on, it is all just educated guesses to them.
It all revolves around the idea of Dimension 26, essentially Sub-Space. Through this dimensional corridor, it is possible for any ship in the R-Type universe to travel to emerge in any other dimension in any time. Through this, certain Space Corps ships can facilitate FTL travel through the use of warping through different dimensions. The Tesseract is essentially a man-made warp gate that allows for stable fast-travel throughout the Solar System.

Because of the instability of warping through time, space and dimensions, it is not entirely unlikely that it would be possible to stray into another timeline in the scope of the multi-verse. Though they don't technically have any proof of this, they have determined at this point that the Bydo had come from some future world in order to destroy mankind.

So, yeah. Pretty much the train of thought here is that, "it's crazy enough to very possibly work that way."
