Edit: you aren't a new nation joining all this pepper. You are a nation with agreements and history. You cannot just go declare war willy-nilly.

Oh my god.

This might be the thing that actually angers me.

I requested that you gave me a rundown, including treaties and agreements. You gave me jack shit.

I'm so sorry. In fact, I'll try not to post here again. I'll handle it in the PM. I just could not sit here and let you write this shit without saying something.

No wonder Nexerus was always fighting you guys. I get why now.
Also just want to state, Ampharos specifically asked Outcast to not let Austria declare war on the allies.

I've been trying to hold my tongue here, and I still don't want to unintentionally disrespect anyone, but why the hell was this brought up now and not as soon as I joined? I asked literally everyone for a rundown, including you. Yet you didn't mention this. Now, when it matters, you do.

Another thing, if Ampharos didn't want to declare war on the allies, why was he secretly getting himself poised to invade the Ottomans with the help of Prussia?

Yes, to those who don't know, that was happening in the background, and that's largely where this whole thing came from. I am literally following more or less what Ampharos was going to do anyway.

Or maybe not. His plan was to "fake an alliance with Prussia" and then rejoin the war against them, apparently. Or was it? I don't know. Maybe there's more information that should see the light?

I'm sorry, but I asked you all for rundowns. None of you gave me anything.
I can hope he reads our points and changes his mind. I don't see why I should just go "okay" without making a case. It says it in the rules - he's not perfect, he makes mistakes.

Side switching of this kind is extremely precedented. In the RP, Greece, who should never have been allowed to if Austria isn't. IRL Prussia lost a few hundred thousand fighting Russia on the side of Napoleon and then switched sides once that invasion failed. Before that, Austria switched as well after getting their clock cleaned.

Also, this.

Have you guys looked through wikipedia pages on battles around this timeline? Side-switching was a fucking pandemic. It really isn't strange, at ALL, which is what frustrates me a bit about this ruling.

France is what screwed over the allies. Austria declaring war on the allies is just piles insult onto injury.

How is this my fault? What, I can't make certain decisions because they're inconvenient to people?

I'll pull this from a PM I sent Screech because it more or less captures how I feel:
I don't see why you're treating this like I'm suddenly supposed to be completely vilified. I have nothing against anyone OOC. And even in IC, I have no interest is "screwing people over". I just saw a good opportunity for me to benefit and took it, same as you with the allies.

But that was okay. And so was pulling Chinese support after digging through some ancient tomes in desperation. Forgive me if I sound a bit bitter. It's just a little frustrating.

While I don't think that you are intending to screw over the allies, but swapping sides at the moment does screw them over, whether or not you intended it.

How is that my fault though?

I know I had Franz use some very confident words there that may have made it sound like Austria was about to kick everyone's ass, but really, you think NOW the allies are fucked? They were already losing.

And a third reason is setting a precedence so that people won't just switch sides in order to screw over one side. I bet Outcast let the whole Greece swapping sides slide because, honestly, they probably wouldn't be doing much that the other members of the Allied Forces couldn't manage (Romania probably could take on Greece).France already screwed over the Allied forces by withdrawing from the war because it reduced the number of fronts that the Eighth Coalition has to fight on. There has been a lot of tom foolery in this rp. I think Outcast wants to stamp it out.

I just started playing though. How would anyone know if I made this move to "screw someone over"?. It's not like I have a history. If anything, I'd think I could be trusted given I've been the one who - even before joining - kept stressing "story over victory."

Also the Chinese i thought used the article of the treaty of Constantinople that stated Asia was Russia's sphere of influence as Casus Belli to declare war on Russia.

I'll wait for Outcast's final word. I just don't see how Turkey making an alliance with China is somehow more believable than Austria realizing it's better off being friends with Prussia because it has literally nothing to gain from competing with them, while it has plenty to gain from allying with them.

Not only do I think it's actually somewhat believable, but compared to some of the stuff that has supposedly slipped in this RP, it's very mild. So forgive me if I feel like I'm getting handed a very shitty end of the stick here.

First, you still have a military alliance with the Ottoman Empire, so its bad taste declaring war on the Ottomans. Second, while your rulers might be willing to join the war against the allies, your subjects will be the ones who will be fighting the war. Austria just got out of the war. I doubt they would want to get back into it, especially against their "old" allies.

I'm sorry, but when has war stopped in this RP? Shouldn't every single country be in a state of open rebellion by now?
I'mma quote this because my edits may be getting missed.

Heh, yeah. Not taking jabs or being snarky, but Turkey getting the help of China through a "blood-relation" seemed waaaaay less plausible. Like, way less.

EDIT: Or Turkey getting the support of China under any circumstances, really.

EDIT: Also, how is the treaty okay, but not the war support? They are both a military alliance. In fact, the alliance clearly states that members can call for assistance. In this case, Prussia is calling for the assistance of Austria, and Austria is accepting it because it actually has something to gain from it.
