I would gladly play as the German Empire. I am still having some difficulties to get used tot his forum, but I will definitely send orders for the day they are due.

This update's deadline has already come and gone. I don't know if Narco sent any orders in, but if he did, I'm guessing his may be counted. Otherwise you should talk to Stein about letting you send orders in since you came in so late.
Yeah, I don't want to throw anyone under the boss, but Greek and Romanian colonies are a bit of a stretch anyway.

Also, since we now have 13 European nations, how are we going to get the Conference at Lisbon working? You can only have 11 people in a conversation on this forum.

Only include nations that actually have a chance at a colony?
Yo Dutch, wasn't there supposed to be a US-election mini-update? Or will that come with the major update? Or.. will it not come at all?

"Emperor Meiji, in a drunken stupor, accidentally signed something other that the numerous treaties. Japanese colonists were sent to Greece and claimed the city of Athens for a Japanese colony. The Greeks heartily welcomed their new Japanese overlords"

That seems rather productive.
"In an attempt to do something productive, Austria exploded."
By the way, what were we supposed to mark our orders? 1900, or 1901? I sent them in as 1900 but I have a feeling that's incorrect. It doesn't matter now, but I'm curious.
Now watch all of our orders fail miserably.

Pepperm1nts, I already knew about the Vaccine Revolt of 1904 and the Revolt of the Lash in 1910. The Vaccine Revolt was caused by the approve the Mandatory Vaccination Law. While the Revolt of the Lash was caused by the fact, that black people were forced to enter the navy, where they faced widespread discrimination and other shit. Both could be stop in a year or so.

The Vaccine Revolt thing isn't that simple though. Yeah, it can be fixed in one successful turn (probably), but it wasn't as simple as "the people were angry about vaccines!"

From the wiki:

At the beginning of the 20th century the city of Rio de Janeiro, then capital of Brazil, although noted for beautiful palaces and mansions, also suffered from serious inadequacies in infrastructure, including insufficient water and sewer systems, irregular garbage collection, and densely populated tenements.

In this environment many illnesses proliferated, including tuberculosis, measles, typhus and leprosy. From time to time epidemics of yellow fever, smallpox and bubonic plague occurred. Between 1897 and 1906, 4,000 European immigrants died in Rio de Janeiro from yellow fever alone.

In short, you have some infrastructure to fix.

Some things never change.

What's even worse is that, since Brazil is effectively an oligarchy, it's going to be really hard to get any change in government. The Oligarchs aren't just going to let the government they profit so much off be reformed.

I kept checkin' around and found even more bad news (now I feel bad ;P): Vaccine Revolt of 1904 and the Revolt of the Lash in 1910. Neither are too crazy, but they both stem from problems that Rare should definitely look into amending.
