What would a Duke rule over? A large region of a planet/moon, or a whole planet/moon?
The RP is still in the 'post your sheets' phase, so yes, I believe so.
Due to an abundance of damns in the area, the Hegemony has been able to repair some and restore power to these plants.
A society is most efficient when it gives a lot of damns.
All that looks good to me. Looking forward to the finished product.
Aaron's against them. Everyone else is indifferent. I for one enjoyed my brief time in WiR.
I wouldn't mind seeing something semi stat-based hosted in place of this. I never got to play WiR properly so I never quite got rid of that itch.
Definitely interested. It's hard to come by good sci-fi roleplays and this one looks like it's got some thought put into it.
I'll chime in and say this: The problem seems to stem from people's focus on game-like mechanics, as opposed to focusing on story-telling. If you want to end these debates about this or that being overpowered, you first need to terminate the focus on military units and technology. When you encourage people to list and describe every ship they have, and every unit, ect, you are encouraging people to play like it's a strategy game. You are making an RP where people look over each others' units and try to one-up them, or match them, or whatever, when they should instead be focusing on writing a cool story. You are encouraging the dick-waving. There would be no argument over what a bomb can and cannot do if you all focused on telling a good story together, as opposed to how many ships you have and what they are capable of. I've said this before and it is never met with support, but it has to be said. I'll go back to lurking now.
I feel you need to better define the state of the world. There are people claiming to have planes and drones in their sheets, while I was thinking we'd be playing "nations" just barely getting by. It's clear we're having different mental images of what the world is like.
Maybe 'Red Salon' is code for 'invade China', and the guy saying it was trying to relay the information to the other through code, as they had agreed, but the second guy forgot they were still doing that, so the first was trying desperately to pass on the information to an oblivious second.
