This is what happens when the west does whatever the hell it wants unopposed (politically or otherwise); the east figures out it can do it too, with enough power. That and also the fact that Putin knows our "red lines" can be crossed and stepped on all day and not a damn thing will happen, after Syria.

Still, I hope it doesn't escalate into real war.
