TL;DR (because it really was) Our suggestions;

Move the gun transformation from the Becs de Corbin and over to a buckler, which can be a shield/shotgun or SMG combo. The background, maybe make her blind from birth instead. Blake's background is explained as being part of a peaceful activist group up until three years ago, and she got out because they were getting too violent. Realism in RWBY; the weapons are all designed with no clipping, completely coherant and functional 3D models. Aura makes you super human. Ruby has no combat skills outside of Crescent Rose. And for her style, if you want a dancing style go with a sword like rapier. You don't get more dancer-ish than that.
Spirit: The first couple of paragraphs; we have nothing to add to. The weapon is the discussion we'll continue though.
Spirit: I like the idea of the removing the gun transformation entirely though and putting the head on a chain to use as a flail/grappling hook. Variety is the spice of life and all that jazz.
Phantom:Might I suggest something a bit more fluid than a maul family weapon? Perhaps an italian longsword? or a basket hilted sword, such as a Schiavona?
Spirit:We  never said anything about weight. We said that the head of a Becs de  Corbin is too small to hold all the moving parts needed to condense the  weapon into a beretta, and suggested a larger head, which would actually  add more weight to it.
Phantom:OOH! perfect weapon. A partisan, it's a form of polearm, very fancy looking, sharp metal cap opposite the blade. sort of a realy decorative spear...
Spirit: Very ceremonial these days. The yeoman of the guard in England still use them.
Phantom:ceremonial=elegant, amiright?
Spirit: More fluid movements, i think, than the weight-driven hammer. Though the traditional Becs de Corbin that he used would probably be the same amount of fluidity, if it's a small head, which means he'd have to remove the gun form like he was saying. The chain thing would just be a long flail type thing...
Phantom:A partisan can also be used with a small shield, maybe integrate an SMG or hotgun with a buckler?
Spirit: So, something like what Pyrrha uses?
Phantom:Hers is just a plain old shield, only special use is with her polarity.
Spirit: Hmmm. Methinks we are going around in circles.
Phantom:How is makig a new suggestion going in circles?
Spirit:Because...I don't know. It feels like we are.
Phantom:If it's about removing the gun, a ranged mode is good to have, but doesn't flow very well, so remove it and reintegrate using a small shield.

Spirit: I like people. Does that mean it's mine? Lol

Spirit:...? We'll probably have to trim this...

Spirit: Yes, yes it is. Moving on! Suggestion for the weapon is: keep the Becs de Corbin and remove the gun form like you said, and integrate it into a buckler - possibly using a shotgun with some sort of spray ammo rather than a carbine for the firearm portion.
Spirit: On the background. Blake was part of a peaceful activist group that turned violent three years ago - when she was fourteen. Her parents were also apparently part of it when they presumably died (we don't actually know) so it could be said that the peaceful White Fang raised her.
Phantom:And like she said, if you can't fight you can't survive outside the kingdoms, so she fought.
Spirit: I can understand if the main target of the hate acid is her mum, who got hurt by the acid and then she got splashed by it, though I still think only one eye would have been damaged - her mum would have started turning away when she saw the acid coming, or even felt it hit her, and would clutch her tighter to her chest meaning she would be a bit more protected from it hitting her face.
Phantom:Why acid, though? why not just naturally blind? it's not a requirement to be abusive to your characters, you know. I removed that part.
Spirit: Especially if it happened when she was a baby anyway - she wouldn't miss being able to see if she was born blind, and would give her parents enough reason to still be overprotective of her.
Phantom:On the topic of realism in RWBY weapons, however;
LET ME EXPLAIN YOU A THING!

Phantom:All weapons in RWBY are complete, functional 3d models, no parts clip into eachother, and none spontaneously appear. the atlesian paladin? all 1 coherant model. guns folding up so the hands can come out? all the parts were already there.
Remember one thing about Crescent Rose,  the person using it isn't a normal person, having aura unlocked is strongly implied to grant superhuman abilities, and Ruby is a specialist who ONLY knows how to use that 1 ridiculous weapon. implausible? Oh hell yes. unrealistic? not as much as you would think.
Spirit: Ballet is actually a pretty rigid dance - not as fluid as you might think. yeah, it's got fluid arm sweeps and little hops and cutesy little things in it, and looks really nice when it's all put together, but if you stray even an inch out of form it completely ruins the whole effect.
Phantom:legs stay pretty straight if I recall, never gotten involved, avoided it like the plague, but I've seen picture and video.
Spirit: I learnt some in high school for dance class. A more fluid dance would be contemporary.
Phantom:Something latin, like salsa, that shit is all over the place.
Spirit: That kind of thing requires a partner though, and the partners actually support a lot of the body weight of the other person, which is what allows them to do their crazy moves.
Phantom:Imagine someone killing a Beowulf by using it as a dance partner.
Spirit:...oh God, she's going to Foxtrot them all over the field.
Phantom: What style of dance goes with that song Livin' La Vida Loca?
Spirit: Uh. Latino I believe.
Phantpm:That involves some weird spin thing I think, combine that with a sword of some description.
Spirit:Most waltzes have spins and stuff in them. She could be a student of many, master of none type of dancer - have the core strength for ballet, but combine it with some of the weird stuff you get with hip hop, latino, salsa, rumba, flamenco, contemporary, some of the ballet moves themselves.
Phantom:Many forms of swordplay are pretty dance like.
Spirit: A rapier fencing instructor I know actually suggests to his students to go learn the pavane, along with many types of waltzes to help with their footwork.
Phantom:They say fancy footwork, and they mean it.
Spirit: Yeah, rapier is the most dancelike form of swordplay there is - you really don't get more dancerish with any other kind of weapon (other than maybe war fans or the spinny ribbon things that people light on fire, starts with a p)

3)Characteristics
Background: Kalte is an only child, and the son of two young hunters. Raised with his parents intending for him to be a civilian and outside the dangerous line of work, he was often left home with his aunt while they were on missions. When he was 8, his parents were killed on a mission, and a huntsman who had been with them on the assignment was the one to bring the news to Kalte and his aunt. The sudden loss of his parents caused Kalte severe health issues as he became extremely depressed, often being unable to eat. this unhealthy behaviour caused him to be much smaller of build than most children his age, and he withdrew from school as he could not keep up with the work. When he was 10, Rost Smith, the huntsman who had been with his parents when they died, approached his aunt about training Kalte to become a hunter, believing from his own observations that the skills and training would prove beneficial, and hoping to bring him out of his shell. With his aunt agreeing (somewhat reluctantly) Rost began to mentor him. starting with studies on dust and aura manipulation, and eventually going into basic firearms training not long before he entered Signal Academy where Rost was a teacher. During his time at Signal, Kalte had his aura unlocked and quickly mastered his semblances ability to generate ice, combining it with dust to become a surprisingly strong combatant, though suffering in combat against human opponents due to his nervousness over direct conflict. During his final years as a student as Signal, he was introduced to the twins Rost and Lila, the children of his mentors former teammate Grey Waldgrun, who quickly asserted themselves as his closest (and only) friends, ignoring his attempts to avoid contact and slowly causing him to open up.
Personality: Extremely introverted and docile, Kalte will typically only speak up in defense of his best friends. In general, he tends to allow others do the talking, however his early training under a proficient huntsman has given him the tools needed to be an effective leader in spite of this. With an affinity for team thinking and pure force combat style standing contrast to his normally passive nature. When in private or around his friends he tends to be a bit more confident and outspoken, however he is still easily embarrassed and some individuals have taken to teasing him about it.

·         ◾Background: Born late to his parents, Rufus was the long-desired only child. He grew up in Vacuo, away from large communities of humans and so was never subjected to the same discrimination other Faunus were. His parents did everything they could to shield him from the hate others could have for their kind, and always told him that he was important, the strongest and could do whatever he wanted when he grew up. They lavished him with praise and affection, spoiling him quite rotten as a child. Other members of their community exacerbated his cockiness and arrogance by making him the role model for other children in his age group to strive towards. He decided to become a hunter to continue being a role model for people - only on a larger scale than just his small community.

The back of the hand is covered by a plate that connects onto another piece designed to protect the wrist from blows. The parts are connected to a pair of full-fingered black gloves. There is no armour plating on the inside of the hand.

Active  ability(s) (if any): Grimm will focus on attacking him instead of those  surrounding him, and in large groups it can  overwhelm him. It can  distract his teammates if they're close enough  when he activates his  aura. Radius is twenty metres at the moment;  further practise will  increase the radius and the ability to  differentiate between Grimm  attention and human/Faunus attention.
·         ◾Fighting style: He charges in first, despite whatever plans his teammates may have made, flexing his aura almost subconsciously to draw the enemy to him. His attacks are fast-past swipes and grabs, throwing his enemies around and into objects in his surrounding or even each other.

after   their elder brother and 3 cousins were old enough to enroll at Beacon,   they left the village along with their parents to accompany them to  Vale,  where Rost and Lila enrolled at Signal academy, meeting a boy  their age  named Kalte, who's parents had died a few years prior, taking  an interest  in the young man, the twins latched onto him, spending much  of their  free time attempting to break the boy out of his shell. after  a year and  a half at Signal, the three of them graduated together and  applied at  Beacon Academy.
