The enemy was approching quickly, too fast for Nincada to use his move. It's always Fire moves, Martin had to think. He was dreading this happening, and here it was. Fire coming towards Nincada, and Vine Whip was going to hit Wooper. If it was the other way around, wait. "Nincada, change of plans. Get out of the way of the Ember and take that Vine Whip attack. It's easier to trade places with the attacks. Be the hero we need, and use Scratch on Flabebe after that. Don't let Flabebe hit Wooper, and stay in it's face. Armor isn't the only way to be on defense." Here was another time he was taking a hit, but he didn't mind. He can't go saying he had Dawkin's back if he bailed out so early. The match ups weren't preferable, but Nincada could handle a Grass move a lot better than Wooper.

Nincada stared at the Ember coming his way, being snapped out of his own little world being told to get out of the way. He turned his body to move quickly towards Flabebe, who was getting ready to attack. He stopped in front of Wooper, claw raised to meet his foe in combat. Or at least, Martin was hoping this would be the case. A lot can go wrong, but he wasn't stopping. "I can't do too much as long as Bagon is here. Mind taking care of him, Dawkin? I'll keep the Fairy busy for a while." He might be asking too much of Dawkin, but he didn't have too many options on his end. Flabebe was keeping Goldeen from being a good idea as well. He wasn't risking Sprout if he could help it. Only one had to go down to open up options again.
@PlatinumSkink Alright, edited it down to one. Considering how this post went, the choice was easy. Now back tot he action, the right way.
@PlatinumSkink Well this is embarrassing. I was under a different impression of what was happening. I can go back and rewrite everything to something that makes more sense. I could delete the entire thing. I read it as four Pokemon and ended up using two at once. How can I help fix this problem?

Cathia was pretty confident with this fight, only using 4 Pokemon. That just means Martin was going to be forced to use only two of his. He pulled out his Pokedex, looking over his opponents. Partly from wondering what they were, and mostly to figure out what types they were. A dragon and a Fairy type. He already knew of the stories of how powerful Dragon types were. The Fairy type always threw him off on remembering what that beat. His Goldeen was still new and partly beaten up. He could get by on a few potions if it was needed, but hoping it won't be needed. The best choice would be sticking with his current team. Nincada already picked himself to fight, which left Martin holding onto his other Pokeball in his hand. "Looks like you'll have to wait for a bit longer, let's kick this off with a good defense, Nincada."

Nincada was ready, looking at his new opponents. Not even a change of attitude, blankly ignoring them. "Nincada, start it off with a Harden." Nincada stayed where he was, mindlessly preparing a Harden. There was no reason to be aggressive about this. His current team was about tanking hits and slowly whittling the opponent down.

He turned his head, to let Dawkin know his battle plan, "I'll stay back for a bit, while you can hit them where it hurts." Then he turned back to face his opponent, ready to go. "In case you forgot, my name is Martin, and you won't crack my armor. Looking forward to this fight, so give it your all." He almost wanted to call himself a Dark Knight, but that would be way too silly sounding. Gotta take this seriously.
Been a bit busy for the last few days, but I got a post in. Sorry if I kept you guys waiting.

Martin followed Dawkin down the path, thinking about the possibilities of where the Team could be. He was shaken out of his thoughts by Dawkin talking and the sights of Geodudes. "Even if it's an exit, the fresh air will probably do me good." After a while of walking, a girl blocked their path. She had six pokemon, which meant she was skilled or went happy on the catching. Martin only had three, with plans for a fourth, but that could wait. She was looking for a fight and his were still in good shape. He looked to the girl, his attention undivided. "It's not about how many you have, but how good they are. You ready for a fight, Nincada? I got three to fight you with. Should be able to use the same tactics as before, Dawkin." He wanted to catch a Geodude, but it could wait until after this.

Nincada stepped forward, not even this had looked to interest him. Martin had a Pokeball in his hand, ready to use. Should be a standard fight. Armor up and punish the target, with Dawkin for offense, just like old times.Just as long as he didn't face another bad matchup, which Nincada seemed to enjoy too much.
So this is going to sound like I am clueless, but how exactly did quick catching work? I either forgot or can't recall it being explained.

Martin followed behind Dawkin giving a bit of thought about the Team left in the water. They got what was coming to them. No, that wasn't fair to wish bad fortune on people who had a series of bad coincidences. They weren't doing anything wrong, and the Ducklett got away. Odds are it was going off to find it's owner. It looked like it ran back out of the cave, which begged the question of are they even here still? "Going right sounds like a pretty good idea. Sorry if I'm a bit distracted. So many people going in these caves, and it just doesn't sit well with what might be happening. Poaching Dragons? It's bad enough to trap a Pokemon, and they then are looking to sell for profit. Can you believe that someone would do these kinds of things?" Martin was working himself up again, and had to stop to take a deep breath and close his eyes. yelling at the world wasn't going to help anyone.

He took a look back to notice Nincada slowed down. He didn't seem too keen on wanting to keep going along the right path, but wasn't stopping either. "Something wrong, Nincada? Just a cave, nothing to be afraid of." Usually he does that when there's sunlight, but that didn't seem right. The middle path had light, but it wasn't exactly sunlight. Maybe it was just any source of light. "Hey Dawkin, looks like there's some kind of light at the end of this path. Nincada usually tries to avoid sunlight. There might be a way out if we keep going that way. If someone was trying to find things, they probably would have gone deeper instead." Yeah, deeper meant more water. Deeper also meant more Pokemon, but would that be a place for a Dragon type? Either way, Dawkin probably had a better idea than him. Just tossing out an idea, and double guessing himself.

Nincada stayed silent through the whole conversation. If he had an opinion, it wasn't voiced. Just following behind Martin, knowing that light was ahead. It was not something he was looking forward to, but continued at a slower pace. He was once again going back to fresh air and sunlight. Martin didn't pick up these details though, Nincada looked normal to him.

It looked like the situation was already calming down again. The fight was over, both sides backing off. Martin relaxed the tension he was holding onto, putting a hand back in his pocket. No need to go after them, especially when the Pokemon went flying free already. It might be stolen, it might not be. It wasn't theirs, and now no one was holding it. This was good enough for Martin's conscience. He looked towards both of his Pokemon, getting a Pokeball out. "We're done here as well, guys. Nice work taking a few hits. I'll have to make it up to you two later. Time to take a rest, Goldeen." With a glow of red light, he called back Goldeen, the beam retreating back and put back on his belt. "I figured you would prefer being out in a cave, Nincada." Nincada looked with a blank expression across the groups of people. Does Nincada even understand what emotions are, Martin kept wondering. He then directed his attention to the group that fell in the water.

"Wouldn't dream of working with Team amethyst or Virtue. Might as well enjoy a swim while you're there." He looked back to Dawkin and Lucien again, "Anyways, we should try and catch up with those guys. So which way was it?" Martin was done with the group in the water now, they could handle themselves out here. With a deep breath, he was ready again. Dawkin seemed pretty sure of where he was going, so it shouldn't be too much work. Nincada walked back over to Martin, staring at the ground along the way. He was fine with Dawkin taking the lead.

The movement was quick, as Nincada and Goldeen were doing great. What Martin almost missed was the lack of retaliation and talking. Wait, he missed something. Everyone except him were pulling back to talk about this. Since they weren't attacking, he had a few seconds to listen to their story. "Nincada, pull back for a few seconds. Goldeen, take a swim real quick. We might have to attack, so be ready, I guess." Nincada gave a blank stare at Poliwag and turned around to retreat. Nothing ever bothered him, even getting hit and being told to walk it off. Goldeen gracefully dove back to the water to enjoy a quick swim again, already fine with slacking off.

Now that they were back, he could listen better to what story they were going on about. Team Amethyst was here, and they left Ducklett behind as a distraction. So the Ducklett wasn't theirs as he thought. They weren't trying to keep it, but looking to return it. The accusatory finger at Dawkin that they were after him also matched up. Even if he didn't like Team Virtue, they had a good alibi. The worst kind of situation, he had no reason to attack them. "So you both lost track of Team Amethyst? Guess this was a large misunderstanding. It did look really bad on you two with a struggling Pokemon and talk of not owning it. Anyone think this lines up as true?

Martin looked back towards Dawkin and Lucien. It sounded like they knew the situation a lot better. He still had a third Pokemon if this escalated again. On the other hand, it might be possible to track the other group down. The options from here is a bit much. Goldeen jumped out of the water to do a flourish of a twirl. She was content to just swim around aimlessly. Yeah, calm down. He gave a laugh at Goldeen, good time to take a step back and breath calmly. He should be more laid back like his Pokemon. Yeah, this would be fine either way.
