"Boy, someone's liable to get hurt," Freddie Jenkins said as he observed the sheer amount of flak flying through the air. In a different man, there would have been humor in that statement. Someone else would have been sardonic, rolling their eyes and talking out of the corner of their mouth. But to take one look at the massive and hirsute man, and seeing the furrows on his ridged brow, you would realize with a sinking heart that he was completely, utterly serious. There was absolutely no guile in the brutish man, who looked something like a grizzly bear crammed into a suit.

His eyes slowly took in the other people in the helicopter. He kinda liked the little guy who sounded a bit like Yosemite Sam- oh, wait, nevermind, now he's dead. Serious guy with some kind of machine gun or something, he seemed okay. And a giggling little goof with a sword.

Freddie, better known as Cro-Magnum, didn't really like any of these guys. They didn't seem too strong, and he knew that obviously the strongest person was in charge of anything. That's why he couldn't say no to Malleus- the guy ran a whole company! He could probably punch mountains apart!

On landing, Cro-Magnum took his time exiting the helicopter. He had never ridden in one before, and it had been kinda fun. It was too bad he had to get off now. He looked around as he loped along, hunched over. Let's see- giggling little goof with a word was slashing up some gunners. Serious guy was being serious. Who even was shooting at them? He felt distinctly unwelcome. Cro-Magnum patted his twin belt holsters. Good, his guns were still there. If the rest of Baltimore was this unfriendly he might need them. Didn't they know to be nice to guests? That's what Mom had always told him.

If they didn't want to play nice, he was just going to leave. He started walking calmly away from the battle, hunched over to the part that his knuckles brushed the ground as he walked.

From out of the shadows, a Baltimore resident charged Cro-Magnum, screaming incoherent warcries as he raised a baseball bat. Cro-Magnum didn't even break stride as he swung a fist the size of a canned ham at the stay-behind. There was a wet crunch as the man's skull completely caved in. Cro-Magnum just kept ambling along. These people weren't very nice at all.
Have fun and be safe!
Don't be so down on yourself, Levex! I really like Ephany and her tormented past, and Noname is a really good creature. Consider yourself part of the family.

And with that, I believe submissions are closed.
Stavrou nodded in approval at the ideas floated, then cleared his throat as he listed the options. "A happenstance robbery might not be a bad approach. Perhaps a sneak thief in his home. Nestori, let's you and I make a note of any valuables in the home when we go to have a look around. If we go that route, we should take a few to lend credence to that. At the same time, we need to be cautious of police in his neighborhood, a dog, servants, that sort of thing."

The Greek took another sip of his wine. "A faked suicide is certainly attractive. We can assault him and pass it off as self-inflicted- something that would be much more difficult if we tried to make it look like an accident. But that'll depend on what he's like when you meet him in person. If he's planning his holidays and joking with his employees, it may not be too believable."

"Or, I suppose we could just openly attack him. If we escape immediately and leave the country, as well as no witnesses, perhaps we might get away with it. If nothing else, ten thousand pounds can buy a little anonymity."
Sonja shook her head as she led a CPD HAZMAT team to where she had left Sarin. They had won this fight, but it seemed like it was the opening shots in a larger war. The Mafia was mixed up in this somehow, but that just seemed like a minor aside compared to whatever dark power had spoken to her. Was it magic, or psionics, or something else? Sonja didn't know. But she knew a great evil was behind that. Maybe worse than anything she had encountered.

But, she reflected as she looked over her new companions, the situation wasn't hopeless. She knew now she could trust at least a few of these people, and she was sure the most competent of the others would get through the other missions. There was strength in numbers, and Sonja took comfort in that. She should really get to know the other Leaguers.

Especially that one, she thought as she spied Hi-Voltage. Walking over with a smile, she gave the younger man a clap on the shoulder. "Hey, man, good work back there. That lightning stuff is pretty cool." She looked around, unsure of whether Olympia would approve of the next part. "How about you and I grab dinner and a drink tonight?"
Description: A short, stocky older man, still quick of eye and broad of shoulder despite his gray hair. He has especially large, calloused hands. He dresses in rich but practical clothing at all times.

Name: Argus

Sex: Male

Age: 58

Equipment: Argus' wife made him promise to carry a dory spear with him throughout the quest. In addition, he carries a few simple tools with him, used for running repairs: a heavy hammer (his preferred weapon), a small saw, a length of rope (for measurements), a small knife, and a sanding stone.

Personality: Argus is gruff and brutally honest; if he does not like you it will be no secret. As a man with a long and varied life he expects to be respected and listened to. However, if he is shown that courtesy, he will do everything he can to be useful and loyal to the group. Argus will not hesitate to endanger himself for the sake of others, nor does he hesitate to speak truth to power.

Bio: Born to a wealthy and prominent family of shipwrights (under permanent contract to the kings of Iolcus), Argus began learning the trade from the tender age of five. Engineering, mathematics, seamanship- all were skills he was expected to master as the scion of the family. And master him he did, as well as having a small taste of war while serving as a hoplite. Argus eventually came to surpass his father and grandfather in skill, becoming renowned as the best shipwright in all Greece. There were new contracts for tiremes, other warships, and soon his coffers were overflowing. He married well, trained several skilled apprentices, and began to enjoy life, taking several pleasure cruises with his wife and living in a gorgeous seaside villa. Eventually, Aeson contracted a flagship for his fleet. The project interested Argus, and he took personal charge of it. The resulting penteconter, named the Argo, was considered the finest and most advanced ship in all of Greece. Argus himself couldn't be sure, but some of the greatest innovations came to him in dreams and visions- perhaps aid from Athena. Satisfied, Argus looked on his work. This, truly, would be his legacy.

But then Aeson grew ill, and Jason called for heroes to sail upon the Argo. Argus watched, dumbstruck, as the living legends began to show up. Bellerophon, Nestor, Acastus, Telamon, Orpheus, even the godlike Heracles himself- all came, ready and eager to sail. These men had names that would live forever. Despite his wealth and fame, Argus was a mere footnote next to them. There was no glory to his name.

In a rash heartbeat, the decision was made. Argus stepped forwards, standing shoulder to shoulder with Greece's finest men, and in a steady voice put himself forwards to crew his ship. He reasoned that his finest creation wasn't going to be left with a few callow boys to be attended, its creator had best come along. But in truth, Argus wished to leave a lasting legacy. He wished to become legend.
I try to be on at least once a day, though I won't make any guarantees.
The owls are not what they seem.

I like it, a lot. No offense to anyone else's work, but Miss Fortune might be the weirdest stalker yet. I love it. Consider yourself aboard, letter.

As far as starting the IC goes, I'm going to hold off until this Saturday for the sake of the Americans, just so they don't have to deal with this and the national holiday at the same time.
Things are moving along nicely. Let me know when you guys feel comfortable moving on to the next day and the beginning of the surveillance.
Danny and Drama look good, both are accepted.

Sebastian and Antigonish also look good, I like how he has more or less a positive view of his stalker.

Alright, we've got quite a cast here! I think we'll see what Levex has to offer, and perhaps one other, then I'm closing the thread to new applicants.
