So, we gonna start meeting up at any point?
It was the best Rhys had felt in years.

Even as he sat up, he detected physical differences in himself. Thicker, maybe. His clothes seemed constrictive. And he hadn't recalled being quite so far from the floor. He gave up on trying to pull shoes on when it became clear they weren't going to fit. Might as well go barefoot.

Funny. His feet hadn't seemed that big earlier, either.

Maybe it was the virus. Maybe he should see the nurse, much as he disliked the woman Kerry. It wasn't as though he could call for her, so Rhys simply opened the door and stepped into the empty corridor. No one had bothered to lock it.

His strides seemed longer as he went in search of Kerry, and he could see that the hospital pajamas were beginning to split along the arms and shoulders. What was happening to him?

As he rounded a corner, there was Kerry looming abruptly in front of him. Her over-lipsticked mouth stretched into a frown. "Rhys! What are you doing out of your room, young man? You need to be in there resting, not running around out here like a bad boy! I think you should go back in there and think about what you're doing!"

And there she went again, talking to him like he was a toddler. Rhys shut his eyes, grit his teeth. Images of the jungle flashed in his head once more. He remembered the feeling of being in command, of tolerating no others. The law of the jungle. His law. Not being barked at by some condescending bitch.

His fist swung faster than he would have thought possible. It was intended just as a light tap in the chest, just to get her to shut up. Rhys felt virtually no resistance as his hand passed through flesh and bone and cloth, coming out of her back covered in blood. Kerry's mouth worked, trying to make words. Just like Rhys, she was speechless. And then she was dead.

Rhys looked curiously at the dead woman, completely impaled by his fist. Gingerly he poked her, watch the nurse's corpse collapse to the floor.

That had felt good.

Rhys smiled. Things were going to be different from now on.

I can take care of him in my next post. Once Max arrives at Fiddler's Green and sees him there he will take him away(to deal with him personally) and apologise saying that he's a newbie and dosen't know how this business works. Also...what do you think of teapotshark's proposal?

The proposal works for me. Are we just assuming this guy works for Max, then? I had a couple ideas in mind for that character, but I guess we can do that too.

I didn't make any decision regarding the events that night (except the fact that Conor is unhurt). I left everything open plot-wise. He could be dead, missing, alive and well, held as hostage ar anything else really. Nevertheless, I'm sorry for stretching the rules a bit. I have now a better sense of where the boundaries are.

Not a problem, dude. We learn by trial and error. I was just a little confused more than anything else.
Rhys felt different.

He was a lumpy fat guy with no athletic ability. Years of bullying and ridicule had wormed their way into his mind, leaving him a constant, lingering feeling of inferiority, of weakness.

But lounging back inside his pod, Rhys just felt different. A little more relaxed, maybe. He couldn't quite put his finger on it, but it felt pleasant.

Visions danced in front of him, more vivid than any daydream. A narrative seemed to gel together. A jungle, large lizard-like creatures. Food, he knew somehow. All of them. His only competitor was a massive ape he encountered from time to time. Even then, it was an even match between the two of them.

As he looked over the jungle in his mind, Rhys was satisfied. This was his. All of it. He was on top of the food chain here.

And then he realized what the feeling in his real body was.

He no longer felt weak.

"Sir, we've got a situation here."

The officer sighed, turned towards the technician. One of the problems of a joint military and civilian venture, he had to take crap from civilians you would never tolerate from the lower ranks. They weren't even from the same continent- a problem with a multinational venture. The officer had several problems with the entire operation, really. "I don't really have time for this, Bauer. We've got Godzilla waking up, we have to evacuate that habitat and deploy a perimeter as a precaution. And now I'm hearing the Megaguirius has awoken as well."

"Then I will be quick," Bauer said tersely. The German looked pale, sweaty. The officer tried to remember which habitat he monitored.

"You've got ninety seconds."

"The Gorosaurus is awake. It's broken the restraints and is battering at the habitat walls."

"Christ, another one? What's going on?" The officer sighed. More paperwork. "Fine, we'll evacuate that sector. Just in case."

"Will you deploy any forces?" Bauer insisted.

"Godzilla takes priority. I doubt he'll break free though, I'm optimistic we have him safely contained. Gorosaurus isn't radioactive, he doesn't shoot lightning or fly. I think we'll be fine."

"I have been trying to tell you that these enclosures are completely inadequate," the German said angrily. "Did you receive my report?"

The officer looked furtively at his deskside trash can before responding."Listen, Bauer, I'm following standard procedures here. Do you know how much money would be wasted on an erroneous Stage Two alarm? Especially one for Gorosaurus."

"Gorosaurus' threat level needs to be reconsidered," Bauer said, making a visible effort to stay calm. "Sure, it's not radioactive, as you said. But in terms of physical power, sheer muscle strength, it is unmatched. Perhaps it's even a little stronger than Godzilla or King Ghidorah."

"I will take this into consideration. Your ninety seconds are up, Bauer. I'm issuing the evacuation order for your sector. Have your people coordinate with mine." The officer waved Bauer out of the room, and resumed wondering how he was going to explain this gaffe to his superiors.
No sweat, real life comes first. We'll still be here when you're ready.
Um, it's already the next day? What happened to the guy at Fiddler's Green?
So, just for clarification, how many players are we capping at? Not to sound self-centered, but I was wondering if I expressed interest in time.
Beth looks great to me.

And I like the idea of the bar being Max' refuge. If you've watched House of Cards, it's like how Frank always comes back to the same greasy barbecue joint no matter how rich and powerful he becomes.
Alright, it's up. I'm assuming y'all are the group of regulars Kelly is talking to.
