Current Nihilism is freedom. To be without purpose is to be free of the oppression of destiny. To be without cause is to be free to make your own. Woe to he who has an outside reason to be. For he is a slave.

Let's not go too far off the deep end. They do have to fit inside the box. And in spite of just how big this thing is, and it's big, it can actually be kind of cramped in here.

I can agree to that compromise.

But life is empty. Always has been and always will be. It's just a way to pass the time until you die and vanish forever into blissful oblivion. So like don't leave for tomorrow what you can do today.

Of course not. But you can't consistently get it out of human writers either. That's why you read all the millions of manuscripts sent to you by would be Tolstoys and Tolkiens and pick the good stuff.

Bio

Long ago in the distant past there was only color. Color to be loved, to be hated, color to please thoughts and corrupt minds. Color to color but newer shape. And than one day everything changed. We do not speak of this event nor of the times thereafter. For they were dark times when color took shape and shape rejected color. To this day the two remain separate, ever touching but newer becoming one. With one exception.

What you see before you is the purple cube of the cosmos. The merger of shape and color and ultimate avatar of the color purple in its physical form. Its N-dimensional form exists beyond your comprehension leaving but a shadow in the form of a cube for you to perceive. A cube with right angles and yet no sharp edges.

It's guardian, a being of it and yet distinct from it and one with it all at the same time dwells within. Or perhaps they dwell together, or just dwell. The later is most certainly true these days a the cube orbits earth having after an eternity in space discovered the internet and its endless supply of cat videos. Now the two orbit hungrily in search of satellites to consume so as to feed its insatiable hunger for cute.

A random question for you lot. Just what is the joining/interest etiquette here? I assume that I should basically read through the interest threads and assume that once enough people (as required) have joined or the OOC thread is started that's the thread closed and I should move on?

Well, here goes nothing.

The name is PPQ Purple, PPQ for short. Purple to my friends, of which there are none these days and the creepy space box that hangs out in low orbit over your house to a certain someone. You know what you did...

Anyway, I've been plying this roleplaying trade since before this century. And yes, I am that old. And no, I ain't telling. There is a surprising overlap between ladies and purple space boxes when it comes to questions you shouldn't ask. All you need to know is that between than and now I've had some wild rides as well as my share of flops. Sadly, that all ended back in the single digit 2010's when all my internet friends turned to D&D and systems and dice and all that other stuff that stifles creativity, murders joy and turns writing into a mechanical wargame.

You see, I dislike systems. And I dislike D&D and its clones even more. I have no hatred for anyone who enjoys them. More power to them. And I think they work good for video games and such. But in the wild like this they just don't scratch the itch. I enjoy writing stories and creating complex intelligent characters that feel human and complete. Characters that grow and deepen and have plot lines and a life of their own. Not just soulless single dimension stat blocks whose progression is locked in from their inception.
Well at least I did back in the day. It's been a decade since I did anything like that and this is my attempt to get back on the horse and recapture some of the joy I had in those golden years of my life.

In terms of preference I am down for anything. Although my favorite genre are nation building games. The sort where you create a country and run it through the eyes of your characters to explore complex themes. But I needn't tell you about those as you seem to have a whole section dedicated to them.

Anyway, enough about me. Now it's time to see if this old piece of space hulk still has what it takes or if I am too old for this stuff.
