Jayce was approved (confirmation via PM) and I created his relationship chart. Aside from Dark Jack and maybe Shienvien, it's my favorite one thus far.
I JUST REALIZED THAT ANTOINE IS BASICALLY RUROUNI KENSHIN IN DEMON FORM!!! Bahahah. After reading Dark Jack's description, I was like "Oh man... MALIGNITAS SHOULD HAVE BEEN A REVERSE BLADE!"

Edit: I picked Ty of all the characters for him to make a 'goal' because of her wind-like nature and how I believe her original desire for a 'place' does parallel his search for 'himself.' Not to mention, her current persona would probably mesh fairly well with a whimsical street punk.
Literally, the last two posts are like flipsides to the coin I'm talking about. Kestrel comes in with cool, calm logic, explaining the moderate response to the subject at hand and how it's not a big deal while Derpestein presents a radical example of the exact type of issue I'm talking about. In short, yes, you can reformat character concepts to fit into a roleplay. You can change character sheets until a character fits in. Yes, possible, totally a thing. I don't deny it. A character sheet is nothing more than a visual organization of information regarding a character concept or set of ideas and facts regarding a character. There is no reason that characters cannot be properly reformatted into new roleplays. I never argued that point. My point was that people will make lists of character that sure, they might honestly enjoy, but also be incredibly reluctant and stubborn in how they change and format that character to fit in a setting or plot, thus causing friction. It happens. You even admitted it happens. There are far more cases where it happens than just refusal to change past experiences, such as items they won't forfeit, or a home village or plot event that simply can't be spliced into a roleplay effectively or maybe even abilities that aren't scaled well enough for the roleplay. I've seen all those problems and more come from the multitude of people who just select pre-made characters from a list and try to push them into roleplays.

In summation, yes, it can be done right. However, we were bitching about the fairly common trend of people doing it wrong.

New character using a race called the Fae that miss Cinderella hasn't posted yet. Opinions? Questions? I do still await approval from miss Cinderella, and maybe some input for what his character relationship might be.
Again, it was an argumentative comment made in ignorance. They're common there.
Nah, the kids in that thread tend to play Devil's Advocate when they see anyone boldly make a claim like that. It was excessively ignorant for that individual to make that statement without even first considering why a roleplay was shut down. Furthermore, as you can see, that person took the initial complaint made and warped it into something entirely different based on assumptions that were never stated. Kids in that thread all have a real bad habit of that. No sense of manners or structured arguments. It'd be best to disregard them as a whole. My encounters with them only reinforce that a majority of them have little idea what they're actually talking about or how to address formal points.
@Kestrel: My complaint was solely about the people ehom either don't or attempt to minimally format a character to a setting. Actually putting a character through a valid redesign isn't bad at all. Having character concepts and archetypes to choose and design from is fine. The complaint here was the people with massive lists of premade characters that simply look for insertion. That complaint here isn't applicable all the time, but I can name a few places where it is. X-Men AU, Naruro AU, varying Fantasy levels and anything dystopian. Those settings are often alternate or specifically designed to highlight a central theme or difference. Coming in with a stock character that has no relation to that and wasn't formatted to the world often causes conflict and less than optimal interaction. Reusing a character an recycling character concepts are entirely different things. There are roleplayers that love their characters and are staunchly attached. That doesn't justify them trying to use them in every roleplay they see the slightest chance for them to be maybe relevant for a second.

Rebooting an RP in and of itself is an entirely different endeavor that is hardly comparable. A roleplay is the platform of interaction. You don't compare it to using an NES controller to try and play Soul Calibur 4.

Brovo said New Gripe?

I feel that way from movies where enough people just don't plain die in a situation that calls for it.
Nah, I hate that shit, too. I know a bunch of people who claim to be insanely good, yet haven't wrote a new character in what seems like years, but also seemingly join a new RP every week.
Well, I'm all for her approval. Since miss Cinderella didn't actually label whatever I can do as Co-GM, I guess it's best to err on the safe side until she does. Detailing out some of the common classes of magic is on my to-do list, so it's really nice to see you putting in some staples for Necromancy. :D
I personally like the concept. Before I would approve her, and admittedly I would, I'd request a slightly more detailed idea of how powerful her "nearly-impossible-to-break" thread is. For instance, is it just tough because its empowered by necrotic magic? If so, there is no basis or relation to necromancy in this roleplay yet so I'd have to ask miss Cinderella some questions. You're basically creating, from what I've see, the first use of necromancy in the roleplay, so this is a great opportunity. However, I'd like to establish the weaknesses and strengths of necromancy. For instance, could angelic light purify it? Is it considered unholy or unnatural? Or, is it just another form of magic performing yet another otherwise impossible feat? In any case, is the necromancy any stronger than regular necromancy? For instance, could someone burn through it or fry it?

A lot of that can really be overlooked and most likely created later; I would just like what your personal input and desires for the character and magical parameters to be.

Secondly, I think the dolls are really cool! But, I'd like to know where they came from. Did she make them? Does she have the power to do that kind'a stuff? If so, cool! List it. If not, did she meet them somehow? Or, were they created with her? Oh, and the last thing was to what degree of control could the Soul Threads perform? Could they like, bam, control anyone in the circus? I'm just wondering. For instance, could she be like, Bam, Soul Thread on Malignitas, and thus help Antoine control his desires? Or, does she have an actual limit? If so, is the limit based on raw power, or would the limit be based on willpower, such as that of the pure hatred and malice found within Malignitas.

For the most part, I love the character and I'd say she's acceptable. I'd just like a wee bit more information.
