So, the short and sweet: London in the 1950s had taken on a large-scale reconstruction effort post-WWII and was seeing an influx of imports and exports like never before - record numbers, actually. What this did, at least in our vision, was open up a hard-to-monitor avenue of profit. The manufacturing firms, construction companies, importers and exporters were all getting a hefty taste of this new-found wealth. The working man was satisfied, it's true, but the ambitious with no standing in society were held down back a societal ceiling. This encouraged long-time and soon-to-be gangsters alike to take on the 1950s era as sort of a challenge. A winner-takes-all attitude was common amongst the younger generations, while the older heads had more of a laid back, piece-of-the-pie outlook. Of course, however, should you choose to play, the character you write is yours.

It should be noted that we expect, at the very least, a slightly-above-average writing ability, and a realistic perspective. Your 18-year-old black is not going to take London by storm overnight. Your police officer is not carelessly corrupt with impunity. This is a dark, gritty, and unforgiving time to be a gangster, though London's adoption of American culture would make it seem like a vibrant, colourful, happy place to be.

So, are you interested?
Cool. We have, I believe, 3 other players excluding you, Sterling, and myself, but they're tentative. If you have any questions or concerns, PM me.
