I've had several bites, and none lead to actual RP thus far I'm sad to announce. I think that my liberal amounts of rust are largely to blame. Anyways, Bumping.
To clarify, would the RP be jumping to drastically different places or different versions of our universe? Most of the time when I hear multiverse I think of a universal setup where you can leap between the consequences of two slightly different choices and the resulting slightly different universes(think steins;gate) but I'm not sure if this is the kind of vision you had in mind.

For whatever reason, I use 'falls into another world' as a plot crutch pretty often, so I may be open.
Hello,

I am tired of my lack of partners with RP. Each time I break through a threshold with my writing, I feel as though my world becomes smaller and my list of partners shrinks. I have RPed for over 11 years, and spent the entire time RPing with a focus on growing as a writer to prepare myself for writing in order to make a living. I can write both genders(and nonbinary gender roles) and focus primarily on slice of life. Whenever I write fantasy, I tend to get stuck in the details of the world and more often than not only feel comfortable writing subjects I feel that I am educated on.

That said, I don't have any particular direction or desire for RPs(As in a specific RP I'd like to accomplish). I just want a partner who takes this as seriously as I do, someone to partner with me and grow with me.

I am also open to teaching less experienced RP'ers. If you wish to expand your repertoire or refine your writing abilities, especially in terms of characterization, please let me know.

On the same topic, I must warn that my goal when writing is always to create characters I do not control. By this, I mean that with the introduction of your characters reactions, I cannot plan ahead. I greatly enjoy discussing possible plot points with my partners and theorizing where the RP could go, but my true test of a good partner is when neither of us are able to predict the course of the RP. Our characters should create interactions even we could not think of ourselves, and inspiration should drive us to write them realistically to the point where we may even cringe at times.

If you are interested, PM me and we can talk about where we will RP. I prefer skype, but will work around your preferences as well.
Apologies, deleting
The colors in the original were likely so that they could name the characters themselves, and truly create them while following the skeleton provided. It only told how they fit in, not who they were, which meant that they would still be your character. In this case though I'm not sure how much of that I'd be able to retain, since color'ed characters must be secrets from the RPers for the plot to be engaging.

I certainly agree with choosing a character as the culprit. There is no fun in this sort of RP if the GM is in charge of that aspect, and I feel that person would have the second most control over the RP with their actions. The tricky part would be, as I mentioned before, allowing private scenes between their characters and others without revealing the truths to the other RPers.

As for authoritative character.... perhaps, however I feel the dreams/colors fulfill that role, the question still lies in how to deliver it. Does one character see these dreams, making them fill a detective role? Do all colors see the dreams that they themselves take part in?

Ideally the dreams can reveal clues about all the characters, not outright naming one color as the murderer but instead revealing details about each color as the characters both attempt to discover other characters color identities as well as which color/person committed the crime. The crime doesn't have to be murder either, perhaps one character is a 'color thief' and when he steals the colors from the others, they fall into coma's for the duration of the RP? That would avoid the police aspect of the RP.

Beside having a ton of background private RP's going on every time characters are not in a public space though, does anyone have insight onto how we could have background info on these characters to reveal to the RP? The RP could always follow an honor code where we ignore plot details from other private interactions, but this would make the colors scenes far less engaging and make sleuthing feel more mechanical.
So ages ago on another forum I used to frequent, I saw a RP where the plot and characters were already outlined for everyone to choose from. RP'ers would merely pick one and fill the shoes, however, there was a twist. These characters were not named, and besides a 8 paragraph exposition on everyone, all were simply assigned a color. He was a shy boy, only a freshman, yet he had a crush on her. And so on. By using this format, it gave the players a chance to create characters around a plot and practice writing characters as if they were close with no actual experience writing them together beforehand. I was very impressed, but was too late to get the chance to take part at the time.

Since then, the idea has stuck with me and I've considered frequently how I could use it. How I could improve it. I thought what if these were all people who had dreams, and in their dreams they saw the others only for their colors and saw bits and pieces of how the others days worked? Or perhaps simply one see's and must tie together the evidence to solve a mystery in a who-dunnit sort of scenario?

The largest obstacle however has always been the scale of such an RP. To hide identities, you need false identities. Characters who are not colors, colors who are not the murderer(or whatever) but who are significant, as well as a system with which to present information and control it as a GM and convey it to the players. Moreover, how would I go about having additional murders/background exposition occur that to be revealed in this format without large tedious background groups and PM's with all members of the RP juggling around?

This is not a finished idea, but I'm curious how you all would go about GM'ing such a structure and whether any would be willing to take part. With ~6 people willing to write 2 characters each, I feel the RP will become populated enough without overcrowding, but I have less experience than some with the activity here.
Sorryyyy guysssss.
I've had a lot going on. Car registration out of date, failed the smog test, work, and ect. :(

I still need to update the first page and verify who will be arriving when, and I guess also figure out who rooms near who, but we can start once I do all that clerical work and make sure I didn't miss anything on any profiles.
Read the profile, all looks mostly spiffy Sir Mad Asshatter. I have some fellows in the thread giving me second opinions before I accept fully though, so wait just a bit and I'll finalize it. Not to mention... it says WIP in the spoiler thing? Is there anything incomplete with it?
I don't know, to be honest I've always ever seen people with brown eyes. I'd even say that out of a class of 30, 2-5 would have anything but brown eyes. But that's just my experience, when you put it in perspective with those statistics what you say really does make sense.
If anyone has a character(other than me) who has the most common brown eyes, could someone please point it out? Maybe Wes did, I can't remember but.... the blue/green eyes are strong in this rp. I don't care, its statistically possible, but god some character in this RP had better notice that the browns are outnumbered somehow in this dorm. XD

That said, if your character has blue or green eyes, I won't slap you for adding more. Make your characters as you would naturally. I'm not about to start rationing what are supposed to be more rare eye colors.

I really like Naomi in this, she's dealing with a lot of the same shyness as Shae with very different flaws behind it. It'll be interesting for Shae, who will definitely be less dynamic of a character, to watch Naomi grow and probably feel pressured to grow herself from this. I still need to reread a lot of characters and add them to the front page now that I have more sleep.

Frozen, if you can put a version of your profile thats all in ONE hidden thing instead of several that would help, I'll do the work even if you don't though. I just want everything on the front page formatted the same. Also just be careful not to drive the plot too hard. X3
