He reached for the portable radio on his belt. Before he called in his partner he hesitated.
Ethan smirked. " You know what it is on now. Looks like there will be some excitement today," he thought and returnined his radio to his belt. Adrenaline rushed through him as he charged into a full on sprint.
He saw the thief throw down a dumpster to try to impede him. Ethan jumped over it with ease. Between being a track star during highschool and dealing with petty criminals for seven years, he was confident that he had the edge in this chase. The distance between the two began to close.
"Hey freeze! You aren't gonna go anywhere you thief!" he yelled out again.
The man jumped onto a fire escape ladder and began climbing. Ethan jumped a moment later, grabbing onto the ladder and attempting to reach for the thief's leg.

As he raised a finger at the two figures, Ethan saw someone rush close to him from the corner of his eyes. Something tugged at his shirt. By the time he swerved his head to look around the assailant had just turned the corner of the block.
Ethan looked down and saw the missing badge on his chest. "Fuck!" he cursed and ran after the man. He looked to his right. The two students were nowhere to be seen.
"That's odd, where the hell could they have run off to?" he thought. He swore it was only a second that he took his eyes off the two of them.
He had turned the corner and had eyes on the thief. "Hey you!" he yelled.
Ethan
"I'll be back do you want something?" Ethan asked his driver.
"Nah boss, I don't like coffee too much," he replied.
"Eh k," he said and got out of the car.
He stretched his arms up and yawned. His badge dangled from a pin on his chest. He stepped onto the pavement when he caught the glimpse of someone's eyes boring into him. It reminded him of the feeling that he was watched while patrolling poor crime-ridden neighborhoods. Ethan went on full alert. Adrenaline flooded through him as he became more aware of his surroundings.
He was about to shift towards where he caught the onlooker when the cafe door suddenly opened. His attention shifted to the sudden interruption. Two people swept past him.
"Teenagers?" he thought watching them get further away from him.
The shock fell and Ethan immediately jumped to the simplest conclusion. His eyes narrowed as he thought, "Can't remember the last time I went on patrol to catch truant students. I thought kids these days would be smarter."
"Hey you there stop!" he yelled pointing at the fleeing figures.
Ethan Everux
Age: 28
Description: Ethan Everux is the older brother of Evan Everux and a member of the town's small police force. He entered the academy after high school and has worked in the force for 9 years. As an ambitious and career-driven individual, he is always looking for opportunities to make a name for himself. His experience while serving the community has made him distrustful of outsiders. He is a corporal and leads a team of three policemen.
Evan Everux
Age: 24
Description: Evan Everux is the younger brother of Ethan Everux. He works as the local handyman and runs his father's mechanical shop. He has a good relationship with his older brother. They meet every friday at the local bar to drink and share their week.
