Floyd - Catacombs

Floyd never followed Lauren as she ran off after Katie, instead, he started to retrace his steps. If he had the choice to help the teen locked in the cell, he would have, but he didn't. Right now, everything seemed to be going down faster than his mind could actually comprehend. The entire facility started to shake from what seemed an explosion as he ran passed Katie's room. The sound of firing bullets became louder as he reached the dinning hall. Floyd stood still as about three raiders passed him up. They were in a rush towards the entrance, armed and ready, some cursing, others shaking from the fear. Once it was clear, Floyd continued down the halls, also passing up the washroom and stopping suddenly near a blood stained wall.

It had been the wall where he first encountered Katie and broke a raider's nose. But right now was where it really begun. Floyd was in search of the armory, therefore he had to do a little recon, tracing Katie's steps as he ran from the raider thief. Floyd crouched and stared at the ground, searching for footprints. Sine the ground was basically dirt, it was easier to catch certain sized feet. He noticed the small little prints right beneath him and started to follow them. As he continued, it was harder to spot the footprints, but as he turned the corner to another hallway, he found what he was looking for. Floyd burst through the sheets that covered a certain room, the room that held the raider's armory. The armory was quite empty though, it would seem the raiders got to it before Floyd had the chance to. Therefore he was in search of whatever was left. He found a decently sized knife that would come in handy. Then he found a magazine, but no pistol. He took it anyway and put it inside his cargo pant's pocket. All the guns and bigger weaponry was completely wiped out. Without any other choices to make, he rushed out the door slamming onto a certain raider.

He fell back a few steps as he noticed who stood before him. He looked into the giant's eyes, rage building up inside him. His brow tightened and became red as pulled the knife from his side. He held it in his right hand and was prepared to strike. It was the golem Bull who was standing before him. It was a coincidence that it so unfortunately had to be him. With a lunge forward, he ran passed Bull. In that little confrontation it would seem that Floyd was about to attack Bull, but at the last second, he decided to evade him. Floyd didn't have time to waste, he had to get priorities straight, even though he had survival in his mind at all times.

He started down a hallway he hadn't seen before, it was lighter than the rest. Soldiers ran passed him once again in the opposite direction. The ground above him started to crumble on his shoulders, the dirt particles dirtying up his jacket. But right before turning onto another hallway, he could have sworn to see a mirage. He plastered his feet to the ground, sliding on its surface a few inches. He blinked and the image was gone, but he could swear it was real. He saw the outline of a woman, but not just any woman, a pregnant woman. "No...." he whispered to himself as he had two choices before him. If he continued down the hallway he planned to go down, he would soon find a way out. If he turned to where the mirage came from, then he had a fifty-fifty chance of finding Jess. But as these thoughts swindled through his mind, time was being wasted. "Dammit!" he grunted as he started down one of the two hallways.
Robert - Catacomb's Entrace

As the smaller group of the Haywood Militia started to gain ground on the catacomb entrance, Robert started addressing the men to their task. He motioned them move to certain locations, remaining undercover so that the raiders wouldn't see them yet. The front entrance would probably be the most guarded location and the deadliest. Robert's main focus was the survival of his crew, of his brothers. He didn't want to lose them like he did those good men back in Afghan. "All of you hold position until told otherwise. Do not fire unless I give the call" he whispered to the men as they all began to crouch into certain cover.

They were all armed and ready, safeties certainly off. During their time in Haywood, both Bruce and Eli put Robert in charge of training all the men over eighteen to shoot a gun. He was also in charge of teaching them certain survival tactics that would most definitely keep them alive. It would seem that Bruce, though he was insane, knew what he was doing and predicted this fight to someday come to life. People always wondered why Robert hadn't been in charge in the first place because of his military standing. The reason for it was that Robert hadn't always been sane one could say. After losing his unit and his brother, he went a little haywire, lost his humanity. He regained it once the virus spread, giving him hope again to really survive, trying to help and make a difference. If it wasn't for Bruce finding him in the woods, then he would have never made it this far. Guess the man had some good in him, though it wasn't all that visible.

But back to the present. As the militia were in position, they scouted out the entire area. They could see raiders roaming about the entrance yard, some around their parking lot, others walking in and out of the catacombs. Before giving the signal, Robert turned and faced all of his men, one by one. Each of them nodded with agreement that it was time to strike. So with Robert himself nodding, the unit revealed their weapons out of cover and began blasting. They weren't aimless, they were well trained. As the bullets blasted, raiders fell one by one. The ones not shot had taken cover, evading the bullets temporarily. And of course, they started to fire back at them. The sound of the lead clashing with the concrete echoed through the woods, giving signal to Daniel's group that it was time to strike.

"Continue firing, take them down!" Robert called out. "If y'all wanna live, if y'all wanna survive, you've gotta fight for it! I'm talkin bout fightin! Right here! Right now!" The war had begun.
Robert - Haywood Gates - Daniel/Amy/Etc.

The man before him revealed his status in the United States Army which brought a faint smile to Robert's face. With a distant laugh, Robert spoke up himself. "A fellow brother in arms then. Robert Dalton, First Company Sergeant" the man declared. He took Daniel by the arm and shook it with respect. Men who served in the armed forces were relatively connected in some odd way. People who haven't served would not understand, but those who have can relate to what Robert was feeling.

In addition to them both having military backgrounds, Daniel reminded Robert of his actual younger brother. Robert had lost his little brother when he was visited by him during the war with Afghanistan. Robert was in the infirmary during that time, he had broken three of his fingers during a futile attempt to overtake a certain terrorist group. Anyhow, during his time in the infirmary, his brother arrived to keep him company. During that time, the infirmary was being infiltrated by a small unit of terrorist. To cut to the chase, his brother was killed along with many other good men and doctors. Robert and a few of his brothers were abducted and tortured for days at end. A squad of U.S. soldiers luckily got there in time to save them. Robert had to attend rehab for about six months to get over that insanity he attained from solitary containment.

"We've got our squad mobilizing right now Daniel. We were thinking of attacking them head on, maybe our forces will outmatch theirs. But now that you say you know a way around them, then lets do it your way. Everything is ready, weapons, ammunition, everything. I hate to say it, you're a stranger and all, but I suppose I'll have you lead us" he told Daniel, turning to the gates. "Roll out! Let's get going!" Robert yelled, waving his hand to announce to the drivers to start exiting the community. As the vehicles roared in the background, Robert returned his attention to Daniel. "Your friend, ummm.......Shay was it? Anyhow, she'll be safe in the city. We've got a decent medical group working on her as we speak, don't worry. "C'mon, we head out now. I know it's overwhelming, I know its sudden, but we've decided to do this now" he started, opening the slide door to the black van. "I'm sorry to hear about your sister and I know all you wanna do is save her, but I need you to focus on my men. These are my men, but they'll be under your command. If anything happens to them, its on you. I'm trusting you to put thirty lives over one. I know its hard to do, but you were in the military, you know what your priorities are. Let's go, get in" Robert finished, entering the van with Daniel and Amy, shutting the door behind them. He then handed them their weapons, the ones taken from their truck. "You'll need them."

"You with them?" a guard called out to Enrique. The guard was in the bed of the truck with two more armed men. If Enrique answered yes then the guards would allow him to enter the bed and go with them to raid the raiders. If he answered no, then there would be a problem. In the meantime, the old man was allowed into the community. The guard that helped him inside was leading him to Haywood's infirmary. "I'm taking you to our little medical center. The medics aren't all that educated in their field, but together they can heal most of us. I mean, nobody has really died from any illness or anything. One of your friends was taken in here too, the girl with the bullet wound. How did that happen anyway? Was it the raiders?" the random guard asked the old man.

The van and the following trucks then rushed through the streets, heading to the catacombs at dashing speeds. The sun was shinning brightly in the faces of the drivers as the burst through the wind. The hiss of the engines called the walkers hiding in the grasslands. From time to time one could see their small decomposed heads pop out of the bushes, their hands reaching for the trucks. Robert just stared out of the window, his elbow laying on the armrest as his hand covered his mouth. He was lost in thought that man, worried for what was about to happen. He felt they were rushing this, but this little leverage they had, this second entrance was not something they could pass on. After a timely travel, the group was about a mile out from the catacombs. All the trucks stopped as the van instructed them to. Robert turned to Daniel and Amy before speaking and opening the slide door. "We walk from here. You will lead most of these men through the entrance you spoke of. I will attack from the front, catching their attention while y'all flank them." The men started to get into two groups, two thirds of them turning to Daniel for instruction, the rest following Robert. Robert started to walk down the road, but before fading from Daniel's sight, he turned to him. "Kill that son of a bitch for me!"
Floyd - Catacombs - Katie/Lauren/Lynn

Lynn's words were getting to Floyd, the redneck just stood up as she started to call him out. Though she hated to agree with her, she was right. He couldn't let something so stupid get to him, there were more important things to worry about. But regardless her being right, regardless her helping him escape that pitiful trance, Floyd wasn't going to let her shit go unnoticed. "Shut up bitch" he told Lynn off, trying to return to his regular self. He had finally shown them a small portion of weakness, how even he could fall.

But once he returned, he returned. That same arrogance and winning personality sprang up from his deep soul. His thoughts regained consciousness, which helped him understand what the people around him were saying. He listened to Lauren and could actually make sense of what she was taking about. Maybe if they could find the other girl, they'd have a clue where Jess was taken. Or maybe that wasn't even Lauren's plan. Still, Floyd did not trust the raider, regardless her statement that she wanted nothing to do with them. "Let's go" Floyd said, starting down the hallway in the way Lynn pointed. He turned to Lauren in the process, "What do ya wanna do bout the brat?" he asked her. There was no way he was bringing her along, no way. "And what exactly is ya game plan? We can't just stand here and wait for sum shit to happen, we've gotta do sumthin. She's sumwhere in here and I gotta find her. I gotta at least see her, just to make sure she's alright."
Robert - Haywood Gates - Everyone that is there

With then entire situation escalating, Robert cocked his shotgun, prepared to fire at any incoming threat. The guards followed and prepared their rifles, all of them loaded. They obtained an assortment of ammunition by trading off Jessalyn, something they didn't really want in the first place. But anyhow, as Robert started for Daniel, another being popped from space. An old man, walking towards the gates was stopped by a guards command. Robert turned to the old man, then back to Daniel. He wondered if this was an attack or distraction set up by Tyler himself. He feared that Tyler knew Haywood was planning to betray them back there. If he did, this might be the first step to taking down Haywood.

"Apprehend him!" Robert instructed one of his guards. The guard rushed towards the old man pointing his weapon at him. "On your knees" he told the old man, ending up behind him, patting him down for any weaponry. "He's clear!" the guard called back to Robert. Robert returned his attention to Daniel before speaking. "You say you've got an injured party member in there?" he questioned again, making sure his response would be the same. But then something altered his trance of thought. The one that seemed to be the leader of their group spoke out about the raiders, meaning Tyler's group. "Whatcha know about the raider?" Robert asked, his rasp coming off strongly.

Suddenly, three more guards came out of Haywood, joining Robert and the other two guards. They started for Daniel and started to pat him down along with Amy. They nodded in regards to them being clear. "The truck" Robert instructed as the guards emptied the truck of the weapons that were inside. One of the guards was beside Shannon, looking at her injury and the severity of it. "She's been shot, its not a bite" the guard called out to Robert. "Take the truck inside, you two just stay were you are" he told Daniel and Amy, still pointing his weapon at them as they took the truck into Haywood. The truck growled loudly before starting off, the guards reassuring Shannon that they would get her some medical attention. "Calm down, they're just gonna take your friend to our infirmary. They'll do what they can." Robert turned to the old man and the guard who pointed his weapon at him. After about thirty seconds of pure silence, Robert lowered his shotgun and started for Daniel and Amy. He nodded at his soldiers and had them back away from everyone. One of the guards helped the old man stand up. "You're alright now sir, just this way" the guard told the old man as he started to direct him into the Haywood community.

Once Robert stood before Daniel, he stretched out his hand to shake the tall man's. Robert stood just below six feet, so there was some height difference. But Robert's height didn't mean anything, he was complimented by his size, he was very muscular. "Welcome to Haywood" he nodded gently. "Now, what exactly do you know of the raiders?" he quickly said, turning the tables and the entire conversation.
Floyd - Catacombs - Lauren/Katie/Lynn

As the raider spoke, his hands seemed to get even tighter. He felt his blood rush right through his veins to the tip of his fingertips. Ironically her skin was tender and smooth, not what one would expect from a raider. As he had her pinned against the wall, he could see the fear in her eyes. This was not Floyd losing himself, this was just pure desperation. He was now facing the woman he had made a promise to, a promise he failed to keep. He had told her he'd keep Jess safe, he'd keep her out of danger, but now he lays in the hands of a monster. A monster that hides his true identity from his own child. A monster that does not seem to understand that his own goal is unaccomplished.

As Katie tugged on his sleeve, he turned to her, his grip still firm on Lauren's arms. Everything Lauren had said went in one ear out the other. He wasn't worried about his own life, he'd never been worried about it. Even before the virus spread Floyd didn't have much to live for. He hated nearly everything he came in contact with, nothing made his day worthwhile. The hunt was all he really looked forward to. How can someone live off the death of innocent animals? It was a gruesome lifestyle he lived and yet this life continued for him even after the apocalypse, but now he had a purpose. He found something that kept him going, something that made his days worthwhile. He may not always show compassion for it, but its there, there is no denying it. He made a promise and he was planning to keep it, no matter what.

But when he saw the kids face, he couldn't help but see Jess' disappointment in her little blue eyes. He starred for a while, Lynn's voice echoing in the background. Suddenly, Floyd let go of Lauren and dropped, sitting down, his back against the wall as he starred at the ground. Nobody could see his face, only his hair drooping over his entire soul. Then a small drop of water crashed against the catacombs dirt floor. Then another, and another until it was interrupted by Floyd's own forearm. "I...she was just gone. I ain't know where she went, she was just gone..." he started, following that up with a silence. He then turned up, the water no more, just his red eyes. He looked at Lauren, then at Lynn, at Katie, then back to the ground. He punched it with fierce strength, scrapping his knuckles at impact. "What am I suppose to do?" he whispered at them. His question was interrupted by another one.

"You're not going to hurt my daddy... right...?"

"........no......."
Robert - Haywood Gates - Daniel/Shannon/Amy/NPC Guards

The gate guards started for the truck slowly and at an appropriate pace. Since the the others already started mobilizing, they guards were on high alert. They were instructed by Robert Dalton, new leader of Haywood, to prevent any entry to their community until the raid was complete and all the forces had returned home. The Haywood trucks were almost completely loaded and prepared to move, but now it all changed because of this unexpected visit.

One of the three guards headed inside in a sprint, running to find Robert himself. Robert at the time was finishing up loading the van he was going to be driving. "Robert Sir!" the guard called out. Robert turned to face the guard and asked what was going on. "There is a truck outside our gates, it isn't one of our trucks sir" the guard informed Robert, having him hurry to the gates of Haywood.

In the meantime, the two guards who were pointing their weapons at Daniel's truck ordered the man to roll down his window. Once he did, they got even closer to the truck. "Who are you and how did you get here? Are you one of Tyler's men, because the trade was complete, you shouldn't be here!" the guard nearest Daniel spoke. He was gonna ask more, but suddenly Robert exited the gates wielding his shotgun, escorted by the third gate guard.

"Exit the truck now!" Robert called out to them. "You two, give them some space" he instructed the two armed guards near the truck. They did as he commanded, backing away slowly, their weapons still armed. "Leave your weapons within the truck, do not come out armed" he added to his instructions. "If you do, we will fire."
Floyd - Cells - Lynn/Lauren/Katie

As Lynn started her unexpected rant, Floyd started to get irritated by her accusation. It seemed that her declaration of him joining the raiders was because he wanted to. The truth was, he joined them because he had to, else he'd probably die. He wanted to tell her that, but with Lauren to his side, it would have been a problem. She then started on about Jess, again accusing Floyd of doing wrong. She stated that he'd brought Jess here, giving her to these raiders. Floyd was about to attack, but was interrupted by the next accusation.

"Is that how Tyler got his dirty hands on her? Now she's locked up in that bastard's harem."

What she had just said, made Floyd take a step back. He turned to Lauren with a pissed off face. Then he returned to Lynn before speaking. "What do ya mean Tyler's got her?" he asked Lynn before turning and pushing Lauren to the wall behind her. He held her shoulders tightly, then her arms so she wouldn't use them. "Where is she?!! Where is she??!!!" he yelled in her face, tightening his grip.

The little brat then showed up out of the blue, reaching for Lynn with her tiny hands. She wanted Lynn out, and so did Floyd. The redneck then pushed Lauren to the cells. "Open it!" he yelled at her, his growl louder than before. He still held on to her, didn't want her trying anything stupid. This was what her feared, having Jess down here with this maniac. This entire time he though she was either just gone or dead, he hoped she had been here, but again, didn't want her to be.

As Lauren remained before Floyd, the man continued. "Where does Tyler keep em?! Huh?! Where dammit?!" he snarled, his grip getting tighter as his wrathful state continued. "Answer me!" At this point his mind was set on finding this girl, nothing else. He forgot about Lynn, about the little girl and about his own life. He might even have to kill Lauren in order to keep her quite. If he decided to let her go, she'd most likely tell somebody about their escape, something he couldn't bare to have happen. "Hurry up, open it" he continued, looking left and right, making sure nobody else showed up, especially a raider.
Floyd - Cells - Lauren/Lynn

As Lauren walked down the pathways, Floyd followed step by step. He kept a distance between them, symbolizing Floyd's trust towards the woman. Even though she stated she'd take him to the cells, Floyd didn't fully believe her yet, he still felt uneasy alongside his captors. The redneck was silent, not even his breathes could be heard. It felt as though they were going deeper into the catacombs, though it was all in the same level. The stench wasn't as bad there as in the men's cells, but it did have its comparisons. One could feel the lack of oxygen around these cells. Lauren even explained how the women's cells were not connected with the men's.

The woman also mentioned something Floyd believed she shouldn't have. She said that the women were later moved from their cells by Tyler. The question was, where? Floyd didn't ask though, trying to play off the fact he heard her. At this point, Floyd wouldn't know if Jess was taken to this place. If she wasn't, then there wasn't anything else Floyd could do at this point. She was gone, just..........gone.

As they made it closer to the cells, they passed a couple empty cells. It was obvious somebody had been kept there though because of the conditions of those cell. Finally, Lauren announced that they were reaching the only occupied cell. Floyd stopped before reaching it, hesitating to see who lay inside it. For a fraction of a second, he wished it wasn't Jess. Not because he didn't want to find her, he obviously did, but because he didn't want to see her in such conditions. He failed to save her back then, he failed to save her child, he failed Lynn, he failed everyone he'd ever met, deceiving them of hope. So as he lay inches from seeing who lay inside, Floyd just couldn't commit. He felt a downpour of doubt sweep over his body. He wanted her to be there, but at the same time despised the thought of her imprisonment. What if she was there? What then? He couldn't fight all these pirates on his own, it just wouldn't be possible. Therefore, if she was there, he would have failed anyhow.

With a step, he turned to the front of the cell. His eyes were staring at the ground for a second before looking back up. When they did turn neutral, they became startled by the sight. He lay motionless as his pupils became dilated and shivered by what seemed an illusion. What were the odds that this woman lay within the containment of that cell. He frowned, pissed that it wasn't Jess, but grateful at the same time. "Lynn?" he called to her, trying to get her to face him.
Floyd - Meeting - Katie/Bull/Lauren

As a giant's arm clashed against his shoulders, Floyd became uneasy. He shoved the man's hairy arm away, escaping the contact. He slid off the side of the table, taking a stand and brushing himself off. "Don't touch me" he murmured to himself. He watched the man as he began his solo conversation with the child, it seemed like they were on good terms the two.

As the giant golem played nanny and joked willingly, Floyd's temper started rising uncontrollably. He couldn't comprehend how they were joking at a time like this, in a world like this. There were no longer fun and games around these parts, nowhere for that matter. One little small joke and one could die without even knowing. In addition to that, these people were basically slave owners, living in the south during the civil war. That, or they were mere pirates, raping women, stealing gold, and getting drunk.

Therefore, watching the giant salute and march jokingly was disgusting. He wasn't anything close to being a soldier, he was the exact opposite, there was no honor in what this man was. But anyhow, Floyd continued to follow the marching duo, walking down the wretched catacombs heading towards the brats quarters. As they approached it, Lauren became visible from a distance. "Oh thank god," the woman exclaimed, her worried face relevant to the situation. She had been in charge of taking care of the child, something she obviously failed at doing. Then, her eyes caught Floyd's. The redneck just stared at her with his squinting eyes, making no sort of facial expression, just staring in blank. But unlike Floyd's face, her's showed enough emotion for Floyd to comprehend. She obviously didn't like him due to what he had said to her in the cell, or maybe it was just because he was different, who knew. But Floyd didn't really care what she thought of him, he didn't care what anybody thought of him.

It was time to get to business anyway, so Floyd busted forward through the Kate and Bull and confronted Lauren. He stood inches from her, staring her down for a couple of seconds before speaking.

"I need ya to take me to those girls y'all keep captive round here" he demanded, it was not a debate. Suddenly his concentration was shattered by the tugging of his new jacket's sleeve. He turned to his left to find a seven year old brat pulling his shoulder up and down. "What the hell do ya want kid?" he whispered to her, at the same time turning to Lauren with a raised brow. "After you talk to Lauren, will you play with me? Katie asked. In response, Floyd placed his hand on her little round head and spoke. "Yeah, yeah, whatever ya say kid."

"Now I ain't askin again, where them girls?" he quickly returned from the distraction. He didn't care if her boyfriend stood about three to four feet taller than him, Floyd had fought bigger men. He hoped to god she was there.
Floyd - Mess Hall - Katie

Again the little brat started to mumble on and on about irrelevant things. All this talk about Lauren, her feelings, etc. weren't really important to Floyd. Couldn't she just understand that he needed to find this girl. Right now, he needed to talk with Lauren so she could escort him to the girl Katie was talking about earlier. If by any chance she was who Floyd wanted her to be, he'd liberate her from this place. All he wanted to was know if she was still alive, it was a thought that had been running through his head since he got captured. The essence of not knowing was worse than anything. From time to time Floyd would imagine scenarios in his head of what could have happened to her, the things she had to endure because he failed. Anything that happened to her, if she was captured and in these catacombs, if she was sexually abused, if she was killed............all that was on him at this point.

Lost in thought, Floyd snapped when they reached the mess hall. "Why the hell are we here girl? I told ya I needed to find Lauren" he said, being forced to sit by a little seven year old kid. The redneck's forearms lay on the table, waiting for the little girl to say something that would make sense. As she turned back to him, she was carrying a sandwich. It wasn't perfectly made, but it still looked tempting. Floyd attempted to resist her aid, he wasn't one to allow others to help. In all, he felt as though he was better off by himself, there was no need for friends. In the end, he still believed there weren't good people in this world, nor the old one. But right now, at the sight of food, his stomach started to growl vigorously. Slowly, he reached forth for the sandwich and started to chow down on it quickly. "Girl......*much*...I don't have....*much munch*....time for this" he spoke, mouth full of food at times. Within seconds, he finished the sandwich to the crumbs. The peanut butter was just mouthwatering, the grape jelly added desire for more, and the crust, well, it sufficed. Licking his fingers, Floyd stood from where he sat. "Alright, now let's get to Lauren, I've got sumthin to ask her."
Robert - Back in Haywood - Rob/Guards

"Alright everyone, gear up quick, were heading out in twenty. Josh, make sure the armory is completely empty, we want everything loaded onto the trucks, we don't know how much we'll need. Randy, Randy!.......Ask Mr. Howard if we can borrow his truck, we don't want to overcrowd each other in our trucks, that'll be dangerous. Also, get Mrs. Lucy to give you the medical supplies necessary, she was in the medical field back in her prime, she's sure to know something about it" the man instructed, the guards dispersing around him like ants. Every guard was getting ready for what was going down. The first plan to eliminate Tyler was a complete failure, it put the girl and her child at risk. Since they didn't have much time to conjure something up at the time, it was sure to fail, as it eventually did. Hopefully this next plan wouldn't fail. They were going to raid Tyler's catacombs head on. Robert knew the consequences of this strategy, but so did everyone in Haywood.

The townspeople were told everything that had been going on since Haywood began. They were told of Bruce Levi's schemes, how he traded off women for supplies. They were told of Eli's death and how he fought for the people rather than himself. They were told of the pregnant girl and how she was also traded off, but with remorse. The people were filled in on everything, there would no longer be any secrets between guards and townspeople.

To escape from the ruckus of preparing and to become mentally ready, Robert entered the van, closing the door behind himself. It was now quiet and tranquil in there. He sat alone, one hand covering his face as the other lay on the sidearm. His eyes were closed as he started to take long breaths. Suddenly, out of nowhere, he punched the glove compartment, his knuckles feeling the burn. All he thought about was losing the girl to that monster. He promised her safety, yet she was now locked underground, surviving not only for herself, but for the unborn child within her. It was time to start a war.

Floyd - Tyler's Quarters - Katie

"Don't accuse me of nuthin girl! I ain't curse ya out!" Floyd yelled, using his hand gestures to point at the little girl, intimidating her. "You're the one who wanted to know what fuck meant right? I just gave ya my textbook definition of it. Ya ain't ready for the other meanin, you're just a little brat. You ain't ready for it" he added, stepping back a little, distancing himself from her. "I ain't like all those men out there" he started again, pointing out the door, defining the raiders as them. "I ain't afraid to talk shit around ya, I ain't afraid to make you afraid. Like ya said, I ain't from around here, I don't have to put up with your rules, I've got my own. I ain't afraid of ya daddy like all of them out there, I ain't afraid of nuthin. So if ya go accusin me of sumthin I ain't even do, Ima get angry, yea. Wouldn't you?" he asked sarcastically, not waiting for her to respond. It seemed that his little rant had shut her up since she began to pout.

Then, with the silence filling the air, the distance between them dwindled. Her tiny little hand reached her and began to pull him along. With a risen eyebrow, Floyd was forced to follow. She had told him he could wear her father's clothing, meaning they were probably headed to the man's room. On the way there, the girl finally decided to tell Floyd her name. "Katie" it was. She also added unnecessary information that made Floyd feel a bit of pity for the girl, but not enough to really feel for her. He only protected her back there was because she was innocent. Still she is, even though she bugs Floyd like a pest. If she were in any danger, there would be some sort of click in Floyd's senses that would cause him to inevitably protect the girl. It was the same as it had been with Jess - but that case was a bit different. Anyhow, as she started to inform Floyd of the names some of the raiders called her, Floyd gently slapped the back of her head with his other hand. "Don't let what other people think of ya get to you" he finished, resuming his stride towards the boss man's quarters.

Then she made a joke, giggled, talked about cookies, and finally made it to the room. Tyler's living quarters were nothing like Floyd assumed them to be. They were..........normal. He had things a normal human being would have, nothing out of the ordinary. The man even had a picture of his family, a picture Katie obligated him to look at. Floyd stared at the picture, turning away from the clothing behind him. The little girl pointed at her family members, naming them. "Daddy........Mommy......Big Brother......" Floyd took a look at Tyler, first trying to find some sort of disruption with his appearance, secondly attempting to remember him so when he meets the man. Katie then told Floyd that her mother and brother had left, meaning they'd died. Of course, the little girl was told otherwise, but Floyd wasn't as naive as the child, he knew the world. Floyd never had a picture like that one, a picture where his entire family was together. For that matter, Floyd didn't remember ever taking a picture, a memory that must have faded with the rest of the world. As Katie commented in respect to her father's greatness, Floyd huffed. The girl didn't even know what was happening beneath her feet. If she did, she might have a second opinion about her father, but Floyd would let her find out on her own.

Returning to the clothing, Floyd removed his shirt revealing the tattoo of a angel's left wing burning. The smoke rising to form the body of a demonic figure with one angel wing forming on its left, the other wing one of a demon. It was a beautiful piece of art for some, other's saw it as a hellish and disturbing sight. Without further ado, he covered it up with a navy blue, green, and grey plaited buttoned down shirt. On top of that, he placed a dark jean denim jacket which was also covered by a leather jacket that fit perfectly. "Your old man has good taste" Floyd complimented. "Now, I need to see that woman that gave me the food. The one that hangs around the big man from earlier."
Robert/Haywood Guards - The Road - Jessalyn/Tyler/Rob/Raiders

As the girl hesitantly stood there, not acting upon given instruction, Robert began to get nervous himself. The situation they were all in was already dangerous, but if the procedure wasn't followed according to plan, then it'd get even worse. Robert himself was close enough to Jess to see how nervous the girl was. At first, he though that her little conversation with Tyler would cause some unnecessary tension, tension that could lead to unpronounceable conflict.

The men hidden in the woods started sweating. They had been motionless for a while now and were waiting for the signal. The food and supplies were already loaded up into the one Haywood van. If this had been a regular scheduled trade, the Haywood people would have already returned to their community, but this was a whole different situation. They had never imagined to fight against another army, but things had to get done. They could no longer hide the inseparable grudge they had against the people that stole their women.

Robert stepped forth, getting closer to Jess, trying to figure out what was holding her. He got so close he then heard her whisper. "I have to find Lynn" she started. "If I attack him now, you and everyone here will die. I can't have your lives on my conscious." For a second, Robert tried to process her words, not sure she understood that Tyler was outnumbered. Maybe she didn't know they had people scattered through the woods, maybe she was just honestly telling him the cold truth. If she stabbed him, the raiders would most definitely start shooting, there was no denying it. In that case, Robert nodded at the girl, letting her know he'd let her go. "We'll find you" he whispered back before walking towards the van. He wave his finger to the Haywood people around him, letting them know it was time to roll. The people in the woods were awed by this. They weren't sure what had happened, but know that that signal wasn't the one declaring to fire. Therefore, the woodmen loaded back into their trucks and waited for the van to start back to Haywood. Once it did, the trade was concluded, just not the way Haywood imagined it to be. It seemed like every other trade from the previous months. They failed to strike first.
Gotcha.
