Fighting the rebels in Indochina was getting costly and Auriol knew it as well. He wanted to end this fighting and he would do that by giving half of Indochina to the Vietnamese as well as stop the fighting. He sent a letter to the rebel army, Ho Chi Minh, to stop the warfare.

Dear Ho Chi Minh,
This fight is costing us lots of men and money. We are here for a deal to give to you, the best deal.
1. France will give the northern part of Indochina to the Vietnamese people.
2. We'll trade with you and help you improve your nation.
3. All people, that are from France, will leave the northern part of Indochina.
4. We will leave your country alone and recognize your country as a nation.

We hope this deal is good for you.

But on other news, the army and navy have arrived in Southern Indochina and going to the protect the capital for any rebellions. And supplies have arrived for Indochina.
