"Two ministerial," Lola answered. "One with the same injuries as you, I might add. Makes me wonder if the both of you were up to the same thing..."

She took the clothe away, and rewet it, wringing it out. "As for your second question," she said. "A group of knights brought you here unconscious from blood-loss. They claimed they were going to find them men who attacked you, but I wouldn't hold your breath. I know those kind of lies when I see them.:"

She let the cooling cloth sit against his skin, and put a clay cup by his head. "When you feel up to it, drink that," she said. "It'll taste like dirt and sour beer, but it will make you stronger, I promise."

That done, the lady had to turn back to her other charge. Much to her chagrin, the girl was up, and shakily intending to get to her feet.

"Madame," the healer said, voice stern. "Lay back down."

"No." Miranda was adamant, even if her head was spinning. "I have no means to pay you, Lola. I'm leaving."

"I already did!" Hilde said, putting her hands on her shoulders. "Miranda, please."

"You what?" Miranda turned back, eyes wide. "But what are you going to eat tonight? We worked hard for those coins..."

"You're more important," Hilde soothed. "Please, rest."
Jadis had changed naught, or little in her absence from the world. She was still mildly pleasing to the eyes, with blond hair streaming behind her, pulled back by an array of white furs. Her eyes were dead cold, black portals of endless voids, and her expression was as calm as snow, though it could easily become a storm if provoked.,She was perched on a throne of ice and rock, her frozen scepter clutched in her hand.

"Well now," she mused. "You are either very brave or very foolish."

Her eyes narrowed. "Dumas...I wasn't to be disturbed."

"He was instant, my lady." Dumas knelt by the witch's side, and brushed his lips over her outstretched hand. "He's a missive from-"

"I know.." The corners of her mouth turned upright. "A fish in a school unlike his own. Tell me, how does it feel to eat scraps from the sharks? Maybe you are here for something more...delectable, my aquatic prince?"

~~~~~~~~~~~~
The prince was not the only one who would be given an eyeful. The distance between them was not even a hair's width, and allowed her to gaze directly into his warm, and soothing brown eyes.She knew the years had been kind to her dark-skinned friend...and yet, she did not know how kind until she was nearly nose to nose with him.
And then, he leaned forward. In that moment, Celine felt her pulse quicken beyond it's threshold (It's beating so fast...can...he tell?). Her nerves spiked, but her body reacted on instinct. As her eyes fluttered shut, she let the blade fall from his neck, and back at her side. Their lips met, warm and inviting, and Celine couldn't stop herself from kissing him back, free hand cupping the back of his neck. He tasted like exotic spices, and the princess felt her legs become quite week.
So warm....
"My Liege! My lady!"
The shock forced her eyes open, and she pulled back. A centaur skidded to a stop, looking grim.
"Unknown enemy approaching the castle..." he said.
Hm, I think I'll go with both XD
EDIT: Btw, I'm basically combining the two things I liked from our last two attempts, but I'm gonna try and do the ghost-sister in a much more interesting fashion. I'm having so much fun with it XD
No no, you're fine :)
I'm just trying to decide if I want the kiss to be successful, or if I want to be evil for a moment and have an 'interruption'
"My place," Keiko said. "though I don't think we have room for three. Maybe the dog-girl can keep watch."
Something made Keiko inwardly twitch with annoyance, but she ignored it for now. Instead, she looked over the edge of the boat to make sure they weren't being followed, and was satisfied with what she saw. That done, she handed Minoru an Oar.
"Start paddling, you," she said. "We got a boat to move; here, I'll help."
Lola paused, hearing a grunt from behind her.
"Sounds like my second patient has finally risen," The red-head switched sides, and approched the noblemen. "Evening, Milord. I'm the village healer, Lola Karell."
She saw his movements, and gently put a hand to his chest. "I wouldn't be so eager, were I you sir. Your wounds will reopen if you don't give them ample time to repair themselves."
It was around this time that Miranda was finally coming too as well. She groaned, and shifted to the left, immediately hissing from the pain. "Ah...what hit me."
"Miranda!" Hilde came over. "Don't get up, the healer just bandaged your wounds."
"Odd occurrence, I must say," Lola said, wetting a rag. "The both of you seem to have suffered the exact same injuries. Not uncommon, but curious all the same."
Lola went back to the noble, wet clothe in hand. "Now milord, I must insist you lay back," she said. "You're mildly feverish, and I need to cool your head."
sweet XD
Have fun?
Well, you said you needed a healer.
This would be a good chance for the two to chat after what happened with the witch.
"Oh gods, Miranda," Hilde said. "What happened?"
"Has to be a stray bolt," Claude said. "Come on, we need to find a healer."
Miranda didn't respond, instead focusing on getting her rational mind back in order. Yes, it was just a stray cross-bolt, a randm piece of shrapnel that found her bare shoulder. The marks were all mere coincidences, and nothing she should worry about. It was with this mindset, that blond allowed herself to pass out. She groaned one last time, before her head went limp behind her.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

"That indeed looks nasty."

The town healer had a split reputation. Some said she was an angel, come down from the palace of the gods to help them. Some said she was a devil who mde their wounds worse. Either way, she was the only source of medical attention anyone was going to get, and usually trustworthy if you didn't try to trick her. Her name was Lola, an itallian maid of long, ruddy red hair yanked behind her well0worn head with a bandanna, with tired blue eyes and a small-set mouth. Miranda, had she been conscious at the time, would have clocked her near 30 winters.

"Stray shrapnel you said?" Lola questioned, working her bandages over Miranda's shoulder. "Odd. I didn't see any when I cleaned the wound, nor an exit wound. Whatever wounded this girl, it wasn't physical, I can tell you that."

"Maybe it was that witch," Hilde, the only one who had stayed, shuddered. "She made some kind of wound on the other shoulder with her nails. I have no idea what it was for...you don't think it cast a spell, do you?"

"I wouldn't doubt it." Lola finished the wounds, and dipped a clothe in water. "Witch's are a nasty breed; they specialize in magic of the soul, specifically in the damnation of it. They twist it, bend it, and disfigure it so no promised land would ever recognize it."

Hilde swallowed hard, and Lola chuckled. "Relax. girl," the healer said. "What harmed your friend is most certainly not any tainting magic. I know not what it is, but she'll be fine with some rest."
Yees, I am ><

Sorry, I've been distracted majorly, and have been pondering what to put next. I swear I'll respond.
