Well I can't guarantee I'll join until that gets figured out, but I'll subscribe to this thread and keep an eye on it.

Reconsidering using a Magic:the gathering type combat system where units have an attack/defense number and damage resolves simultaneously. I know it's going back to numbers and stats but seriously it would be the most minimal usage of numbers I can think of.

Yeah combat is mostly what I was getting at, I've never partaken in a NRP without some semi-formal way to handle combat.

Will certainly be something I work out taking into consideration what the players want as well.
How are things handled without stats?

I can give you a better answer after I flesh out the tech/magic/world a bit. The easy answer is we would handle things in the least asshole-ish way possible. Talking in OOC and working out what players are intending to do for one-is there something specific like combat you were wondering about?

Whats the world like? Who can we play as? Whats the time period? Is everyone evil? Can I shoot dragons from my eyeballs?
Sure I'm interested. I would say I can help with numbers but I don't know what your system is. Could you describe that a little more?

EDIT: Option B is fine for me too.
Interest check for a new nation roleplay set in my homebrew world of Our Dark Star. This time around-no numbers or stats and each player would take control of a 'city-core'. The map would be different and I would flesh out the tech/magic and geography.

I'm seriously not prepared to second guess and over think every single thing my character says...If you think it's sexist, have your character say so-It would be pointless to do it any other way.
I'm just surprised he used the wrong term when addressing the WOI (should've been either Mister Bridges or Warrant Officer Bridges, rather than Ma'am), but that could've also been a carefully crafted insult, reminding her that she used to be a commissioned officer. Or he's being sexist, using the feminine form of address.

I didn't know ma'am is a sexist term?
Since Saf's recently come out of a court martial for striking a superior officer Phayne could easily take offense at her attitude, since he would've been the second highest ranking officer on the team, if we'd still been using ranks.

I just read it as a sign that the former-LtCdr is having the same problems as Saf letting go of his former position.

I didn't want to respond IC since Phayne was basically telling Saf to shut up in Officer-speak, and so she wouldn't be talking back to him and I think I've made enough reaction posts for now to assure everyone that I'm still here.

Yea that. Just wanted to get in on the IC. It wasn't entirely necessary but I think Phaynes temper would start to creep up. He's a bit....introverted :)
