I like the sound of this a lot, I wonder if all the classic supernatural foils will come into play? Holey water, salt, sign of the cross etc.

Personality: For the most part, Al can be summed up as being for the most part laid back and calm like the sea on a clear day, though much like the sea he can suddenly become restless and violent in an instant. He is prone to long periods of relaxation and savouring the little things followed by bursts of extreme energy, excitement and passion. More often than not related to treasure and the prospect of attaining it or some form of adventure. That said, he is smart enough to know an impossible fight when he sees one and is more than happy to switch sides or ditch a job if it means he gets to live another day.

Alignment: Chaotic neutral, good or evil depending on those around him

Simple description: A toned but overall small form with salt soaked blonde hair and green eyes. He wears the typical swashbuckling pirate attire of a ragged shirt and long pants tucked into worn brown boots with a long blue overcoat and sailor hat, most of it appearing oversized and mismatched from more than just one region's style of clothing.

The Gull lay slumped against the starboard side of the docked ship peering over the wooden railing to stare dully at the port town while regretting his entire existence, the part of that existence he regretted most of all was the throbbing pain in his head from the excessive amount of alcohol he had consumed the previous night, much to the entertainment of his shipmates. Turning down a free drink was something he could never bring himself to do, not when everything in the world was so often held out of reach until he fought hard for it. He brought a canteen of fresh water to his mouth and took a sip, swirling it around then spitting it out to try and bring about some semblance of freshness or at the very least wash away the taste of regret.

“Al!” Came the irksome call of the ship’s first officer whom the young man spotted approaching with a wave as he pulled his head away from the townsfolk. “Shhh.” Alphonse pressed a finger against his own lip and lidded his eyes. “You’re not still hurting from last night are you?” The officer asked with a smirk. “I don’t deal with red wine well.” Replied Al, more melancholic than usual.

“Well that’s a shame given the haul the captain has his eye on next, the local lord’s supposedly bringing in a shipment of the stuff tonight, the fancy kind in bottles!”
“Sounds like it’d fetch a nice price at least…” He wasn’t too enthused by the prospect, bottles were easily broken after all and finding someone to sell them too wasn’t going to be easy.
“Only snag is it’s going to be guarded, not like the usual merchant ships, trained men.”

At this, Al’s eyes lit up and the headache was forced out by a thought. Real guards weren’t cheap and chances are they’d have their coin purses with them on the ship, there may even be a few among them that could be ransomed for a decent amount. The pirate stood upright and inhaled a lungful of the sea breeze. “Let the captain know I’ll be happy to lead the boarding party.”

Name: Edmier Silverbirch
Race: Half-elf (Human)
Gender: Male
Appearance: Edmier's appearance is largely what one would expect of a teenage boy, he is around 5'6 with a slim frame and softly defined facial features punctuated by intense blue eyes. His hair is odd, an often unkempt mix of silver and black, telling of his mixed heritage, it often covers the majority of his pointed ears but the tips usually poke out and are visible. He is prone to wearing dark coats, jackets and jeans, even in summer time and is never seen without a pair of goggles handy.

Technique: Edmier's grasp of air is largely focused around the usage of air to move himself around, blasting off with air burst then creating them against the ground to cushion his falling, bolstering and manipulating strong gusts to carry himself around or creating spinning vortexes to allow himself to hover and drift over obstacles and perform a clumsy approximation of flight. He is also able to create thin focused streams of air to cut at things like an invisible knife, though this is something he has yet to refine and develop precision with. The rest of his techniques are rather simple manipulations of other magical areas which he hopes to improve at the academy.

Abilities: Dramatic hair whip, dramatic stare, dramatic glare, above average hearing.

Skills: Climbing and running are two things the half-elf enjoys and is good at, often having combined the two with his magic to develop his owns style of parkour. Aside from this, he has some level of competency with baking having learnt more than a few recipes from his mother. Edmier is also rather good at disguising his emotions through his facial expressions, able to play it cool with a melancholic poker face should it be needed, in fact overreacting with a melancholic approach is something he does quite frequently.

Bio: Edmier's story begins with his parents, more specifically his father, Gregory Silverbirch being one of the more well known and regarded city elf actors always had a troubled relationship with the rest of his race, even before the war. In the aftermath of the devastation, capitalising on the mysterious appeal his status as an elf held, he was able to quickly build up a reputation as an advocate of integration and union between Humans and Elves as well as a competent performer. He entered a highly publicised relationship with a Human woman from Canada, Cassandra Lee, which was still fairly new at that point, his popularity only rose as the pair announced they would be having a child. For a time, Gregory managed to land himself a rather cushy and well off position as part of the Hollywood elite before the novelty wore off and he slid down to being the B-list actor he is known as today, in part due to Cassandra wishing that their relationship with the media be drastically reduced following the birth of Edmier and the passing of time giving rise to new stories and celebrities.

His time as a baby couldn't be kept out of the media spotlight but gradually his parents were able to better seclude and isolate him from the attention, his time growing up was largely spent moving around with Cassandra and her family in Canada to avoid the press and attending school there. While Gregory supported and loved his son dearly, most of his side of the family were traditionalist Elvish folk who strongly condemned his career and choice of partner, few would even meet young Edmier let alone visit frequently and the pressure of his job along with efforts to reconcile and encourage his kin to adapt to the Human world meant he spent long periods away. As a young boy, Edmier took an interest in magic after being taught about father's life before acting, while Gregory was by no means a competent mana user he at least had a few party tricks that he recalled from his own youth.

Eventually the question was raised about where he would go on to study and his mother and father agreed to let Edmier decide between furthering his magical interest or remaining in the Canadian school system, for a young man facing a decision between maths and magic there was only one conceivable answer and so his application went off to Arkangrad and he eagerly awaited a response.

I look forward to maybe potentially possibly engaging in text-based adventures with some of you.

Role played on and off for a good few years now in board games and play by post things, recently been on an off period so hopefully I won't embarrass myself or anything and pick things up again quite soon.

Crossing my fingers for some sci-fi and/or fantasy things with a western tint but it's all good.
