Good Formatting: If I click on the Interest Check, and its plain looking, uniform paragraphs I just back out. Just not appealing. On the other side, if its too much make up, its unappealing.

Also a good description of what the RP is, and what the GM is looking for - so I know if I can meet both sets of standards.
Actually. The rules were subject to the people actually participating. A lot of places adopted T1 or a variation of it,because it kept things clean and cut out a lot of "BIG MASSIVE SUPER ATTACK BECAUSE I'M.DYING".

The GT employed it as well. However if say, me and Skallagrim were to have a pick up fight we would simply Starr a thread and go from there. What characters, what levels, what rules. And if there was a problem, we would talk it out, and following that find a third party to make a ruling.

Also, there are a lot of mature combatants and a lot of immature ones. Th Arena doesn't alienate. I've seen new people come in and stick around, learn T1 and.enjoy it like the rest, and some come in and complain that they should be allowed to use their ultimate attack with nary a prep or a peep.
Nothing happened to it, really. Before Guildfall it was the least inhabited area and still seems to be. It's a specialized area, unlike the main three so.its going to have fewer people in it anyway.

However Arenas in RPing are fairly popular. They even used to hold a massive every other year tournament(Grand Tournament), in which people from all kinds of sites would compete - including a couple of our current/old members(Skallagrim, for example). They also have a site where you can get ranked in a list of fighters(I'm listed there as well, though some BS kept me from being ranked higher).

The Arena also held Guild's only working multiverse for a while.
I think if you're 17, days away from turning 18 - then you should talk to the GM. They might reserve a spot for you, insofar as hot accepting a full cadre of players just yet.

I think though its the last bit of the question that gets to me. Which is essentially "If I pretend to be 18+, cam I just ignore the rules" The answer to what is simple. If you act 18+, can you just go buy cigs? can you go to a strip club? no. No amount of acting is gonna make that okay. Ever. Mature or not.
To me, it would be a sin. It's 18+ for a reason, not the least of which - protects all parties involved if the RP takes a turn that shouldn't be traveled down by those not age appropriate. Likely in the same way stores and such would get in trouble for providing beers to minors and the like. AS for the subject title - no.
You should definitely look in all areas to see if something strikes your fancy, and if they do - ask yourself if you fit within that level of writing(Some are different based on the GMs own expectations), but Casual isn't hard at all to do. Best way to make sure you're ready for Casual is to do a Casual RP, otherwise it'll be hard to determine whether or not you can hang with them.
A GTA set somewhere other than Fake Miami/New York/LA(Cali) Perhaps one set in Mexico? The main character being part of a prosperous drug ring, where he is a fast rising star. Part way through, he gets set up as a fall guy, and is left for dead/arrest, and manages to survive/escape(or cop a deal), and comes back to take down the drug ring/take it over, after a careful manipulation of events. Or even one in Japan(Or somewhere bigger). --- Also, more games that work like Fable 2(Best Fable of the series), in terms of Renown and Good/Evil.
A lot of the snobbery is more than likely just word of mouth, like "Advanced being full of elitists", so when new people go - they assume being elitist is the norm. Honestly, I never really ran into any elitists in Advanced. Douchenozzles? Yes. But otherwise, it was perfectly fine to me. It's pretty easy to adjust to Advanced, or any section really. Though, I've never done Free and have no plans on doing so.

Whenever Skallagrim returns, he'll see me popping up on his page - constantly. MUHAHAHHA
In my Allaria RP, all magic was based on the soul. The more you used the more of your soul, which would regen, was burned up. With a soul nearly gone, you couldn't summon your spirit animal, use magic, or communicate with Gods. As far as types, it was mainly do as you will but time and space any excessive teleporting was out. I am a fan of Erikson's magic in Malazan Book of the Fallen, where it wasn't particularly outlandish and not everyone could do the same thing. It was based on Warrens, or other realms, and very few could access more than one - and almost no one changed Warrens(only memorable mention was Deadsmell going from Necromancer magic to Omtose Phelleck, or rather Ice Magic, when Hood, The God of Death, was killed and sent inside a sword, instead to the Underworld. When he was released from the sword, he returned to his original state, a Jaghut meaning he went back to Ice Magic - ergo so did Deadsmell and presumably many other folks whose magic was based off Hood. none were mentioned, however)
